Nippon-Ham won the game by one point, a close battle of points, for the fourth straight win, bringing their lead to 24 games, the most of the season, and keeping them three games behind the leader, Softbank.

However, after the game, Manager Shinjo commented through a public relations officer, “I want to make sure I can bunt in games like this! From now on!”

With a two-run lead in the seventh inning, with runners on first and second and no outs, Tamiya failed to bunt, and then Mannami double play a straight single to second base, resulting in a double runner and a missed opportunity.

In the following eighth inning, defense allowed four hit, bringing the score to within one point, making it a narrow win.

Even so, Tamiya was able to get back his reputation in the ninth inning when he stabbed runner with a perfect “Yua Beam” while attempting to steal second base with no outs.
