TAWAU: Two young pianists here have made Malaysia proud by clinching top prizes at the Golden Classical Music Award International Competition in Tokyo, Japan.
Jackson Chan En Ze, 7, and Caleigh Chee Li Ying, 10, were named First Prize winners in their respective categories – Young Musician (8 & under) and Junior (9–12 years) – at the international event, which saw participants from 71 countries.

The duo were the only Malaysians to earn First Prize in the piano soloist category and were invited to perform at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall on August 19.
The venue, ranked among the top concert halls in the world, hosted performances by all the competition’s top winners.
