At a theater in Tokyo, Japan, a Korean in his 20s is being investigated by local police for secretly filming “The Blade of Extinction in the Theater: Infiniteity” (hereinafter referred to as Infiniteity) at a movie theater.
According to the Sankei Shimbun and others on the 21st, Tokyo’s Otsuka Police Station said it is investigating a Korean national living in Tokyo on charges of violating copyright laws.
He is accused of infringing on copyright by secretly filming the Infinite for two hours and 35 minutes with a smartphone at a movie theater in Shinjuku-gu, Tokyo, on the 18th of last month.
Earlier, he had been arrested on the 30th of last month on charges of purchasing 200 animated Blu-ray discs worth 1.3 million yen (about 12.33 million won) using someone else’s credit card at a shopping mall.
During the investigation, the police found an unlimited video of about 2 hours and 35 minutes taken from A’s smartphone.
The day when A secretly filmed the movie was the first day of the release of ‘Blade of Extinction: Infinite Castle’.
The Infinite Star, which was first released in Japan, is also set to be released in Korea on the 22nd.
The blade of extinction, the original cartoon of the Infinite Bible, was serialized in the Japanese cartoon weekly “Boy Jump” from 2016 to 2020.
With the work of Yo-haru Kotoge, comic books have been so popular that 220 million copies have been sold worldwide so far.
The film is also ranked No. 1 in the opening revenue of all theaters in Japan, and it is expected to soon surpass the No. 1 box office revenue of all theaters in Japan, set by its previous film “The Blade of Extinction: Infinite Train,” released in 2020.
The “Infinite Star,” which is also highly anticipated in Korea, is estimated to have surpassed 780,000 reservations on the day before its release in Korea.
According to the Korea Film Council’s tally, Infinite Bookings remained at the top of both categories with an 82.9 percent reservation rate and 785,000 reservations.
The movie “The Blade of Destruction of the Theater: Infinite Star,” which was ranked first in two categories two weeks before its release, recorded a whopping 780,000 reservations a day before its release, the highest number among films released this year.
