Korean streetwear label Adererror has opened the doors of an impressive flagship store in Tokyo. Filled with giant snails, seeds and flowers, the store design aims to be an ode to nature.

Art as connection

Aderreror recently opened its doors in Harajuku, one of Tokyo’s most coveted shopping areas. But as per custom from the exclusive Korean clothing brand, the “Adererror Tokyo Space” is not just another store: the space aims to provide a complete, multi-sensory “brand experience,” where fashion, spatial design and objects merge into a coherent whole.

The two-story building is located behind the Ralph Lauren flagship store on busy Omotesando Street. For the interior design, the brand collaborated with nine South Korean artists. Central to the concept is the idea of a “continuum“: a multidimensional ecosystem in which tiny life forms, plants and organisms are infinitely interconnected – at once a nod to Adererror’s ambition to connect online and offline worlds.

Upon entering, visitors are greeted by an installation of plants and creatures exchanging nutrients, like a living organism constantly expanding. Even the materials, from resin, glass and stainless steel to natural elements such as wood and moss, are meant to portray the natural world. On the upper floor, the colossal snail immediately catches the eye, a symbol of endless expansion and connectivity, according to the brand.
