Living on a Cruise Ship π³οΈ | Our First Port in Japan: Hakodate π―π΅
Living on a cruise ship means every port is a new adventure β and Hakodate, Japan was our very first stop in this beautiful country! π―π΅β¨
We started at the bustling Hakodate Morning Market, where we came face-to-face with giant squid, octopus, and endless fresh seafood. π¦π From there, we wandered beyond the port, walking 30 minutes in the rain to find affordable, authentic sushi where the locals eat. π£ And it was absolutely worth it.
Hakodate gave us such a warm welcome β with friendly people, clean streets, and a safe, quiet atmosphere. Itβs easy to see why we already know weβll be coming back after our first navigation to spend a few months in Japan. π

Thank you for letting us experience docking in Japan with you. Awesome video!
We also love Japan. You must go into every Fast Food restaurant you come across. It is fun to see the menu items for that region. The food is also much better than in the USA stores.
Look for 100 Yen stores for disposable rain ponchos.
Enjoy your self
that was a great video and a fun experience compared to America. I'll be watching more of your vids. π
That looks amazing. Would definitely be one of my top 10 ports, except that crab guy outside the ship.
Never been to Japan, but Iβm loving it so far through you two!
Really great fun to watch!! You are both so engaging! Cheers from Canada!
Lanette and Johan you would be my people if I was on the ship. I hope you are there when I am able to try it out. Johan…what a great mood you were in.(you always are but seemed exception this day) Keep the videos coming
Love that you are giving the food a try! Good girl! Love you 2
Peanut butter and jealous! π°π³
Great video, that was hilarious when Lanette said she was gonna starve cause she can't use chopsticks. That bathroom was just like Dog n Duck…hahaa
They much prefer new money. Do not mess it up if possible.
Would love to visit Japan someday, thanks for sharing.β€
37 bucks that's cheap !
We did a cruise around Japan too and loved it.
What did you use in this video to make your little ship map thing?
WOWβ¦Japan looks so interesting. Great video to capture your first day in port. Looking forward to experiencing this country with you. Thanksβ€οΈπ¨π¦
Loved the video, some of the food not so much! lol Loving the journey!
I don't really get the chance to travel, so I reallyπ appreciate the view of the different countries and beautiful places .β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€
If you got 5,000 yen for $40, the exchange rate was 125/1 Not the 147 you expected. You got ripped off.
Great video. Brings back memories, I love Japan. I recommend plum sake , well worth a try. Looking forward to seeing more of your Japanese adventure
Yikes! I always brush my teeth π¬ in the restaurant after I eat. I'd be in trouble. Lol
"I have a feeling I'm gonna have more of this" π
So glad you all made it safe and sound to Japan. Japan is one of the countries on my bucket list. I wanna go for the food and the vending machines.
We need to teach Lanette on how to use chopsticks, lol. Or do what my friend does, carry a silverware set with ya everywhere you go.
6:38 Fun fact: the squid/octopus is actually not alive; it is killed just before serving, and when the soy sauce is poured over it, there is a chemical reaction that causes it to β dance!β Japan is top of my bucket list, but I worry about the food because Iβm deathly allergic to shellfish!
Iβm loving getting to travel the world vicariously through yβall! Thank you so much for showing us a true picture of tourism abroad, even the parts that arenβt so pleasant! You guys ROCK!
P.S. I can teach Lynette how to use chopsticks in ten minutes or less! π
