Hunt for our friend’s favourite okonomiyaki restaurant in Hiroshima Japan

Have you ever tried to find a restaurant by memory? But what if that memory was 5 years old and this is all you remember? It was just a man who was standing right outside another Okonamyaku restaurant and he pretty much just jacked us all into his own restaurant in a random building from a random lift. So I have no hope, but we’re just going to blindly follow him. And then suddenly we find ourselves at this food theme park dedicated to okonomiyaki. It’s called Okonomi Mura, but it’s not that one. So we head two buildings down up the elevator to 2F. We found it. And it really did feel like we were in someone’s apartment. And I love that they make it right in front of you because we actually got to talk to the chef and tell him about our whole trip to get here. But will it actually live up to Winston’s hype? Well, I could tell after one bite. Does it taste as you remember it? Oh, even better. But it wasn’t just the food that made this place special. It was really this kind husband and wife duo that run this place. Thank you.

  1. Same thing happened to me. Found some tiny hole in the wall Okinomiyaki place on a side street in Hiroshima. Phenomenal. Never found it again.😂😂

  2. There's a kinda restaurant in a student corridor in my building. You have to call ahead and pay in cash. I've heard it's pretty cool and due to to it not being well-known even in this building, it makes it kinda special
