First day in Sapporo, Japan 🇯🇵 what we ate, revolving sushi, konbini runs, ichiran & wagyu bowl vlog

[Music] We made it to Tokyo. [Music] Cass and I just landed at Hanetta airport which is in Tokyo. Hope you got one. Here’s my mom. Cheers. We are in front of our gate. We are really early. We’re the only ones here. As you can see, our flight isn’t for another hour and a half, which is actually great because then I can just get a ton of editing and work done. Cass and I just had some delicious oniri. As you saw, we got some divine coffee. Cheers. I’m so excited. We are landing at around 10 or 11 a.m. So, because of that, we might not be able to drop our luggage off at our Airbnb. So, we may have to find a luggage locker or something. But, we’re in Japan. [Music] Yeah. [Music] Oh my gosh. [Music] So delicious. I’m too hungry. I eat it now. [Music] Wow. Wa. This one looks interesting. Also, everyone, Cass is being really sweet, but I’m so hangry right now that I I can’t I rarely get hangry, but it’s been a long travel day. [Music] Cheers. [Music] [Laughter] How’s got natto? [Music] You guys, I’m so full. I suddenly just hit a wall. But Cass really wants me to try this. [Applause] [Music] The egg is like so [Music] taking public transit and walking to our Airbnb. Oh my god. [Music] It is 3:59 and we can’t be let in until exactly 4:00. We must wait. I’m sweating. How many hours have we been traveling at this point? I don’t know. I don’t know how many hours it’s been. At least 24. Hello, my cuties. I’m showered and dressed and so jetlagged. It’s now 5:00 p.m. We’ve been traveling for what feels like decades at this point. I’m so exhausted. Cass and I just got out of the shower and Cass kindly went to go get me a coffee at the nearest comini because I feel like I’m literally going to fall asleep right now. I don’t know why I’m doing this strange accent. That’s how delirious I feel. So, I’m going to force myself to do work in an attempt to wake up, which I don’t know, maybe that’s counterintuitive, but I’m like, I don’t know. Our accommodations are so much nicer than I could have expected them to be. The photos did not do this place justice. Enough yapping. I’m going to do my work and then hopefully the coffee that Cass brings me will revive me. Everybody say hi to Cappy. Hi, guys. Dude, this jet lag. It is first time. It’s not that exciting. I’ll be honest with you. Vitamin C drink after we fly. You need vitamin C. But this one has collagen, which is fun cuz I’m trying not to be a wrinkle, you know. So, I got cyan. Each one of these. Get them when you get off the plane. They’re fierce. Bye, baby. A chips. I loves corn. This is a corn flavored chip. Cass has forgotten that I hate corn chips. But it’s not a corn chip. It’s just a cornflavored potato chip. You know what I’m saying? So, I feel like maybe it’s different. I hate cornflavored chip. Got you a candy like Oh, I do like these fetuccini gummies. I’m excited to try these though. Thank you, honey. I got this sunscreen because we love it. It’s really hot and I’m already getting sunburnt here. So, I want to put this in my bag cuz you just missed it all over you. True. A black coffee for the madam. sugar-free Red Bull for the lad cuz it’s um it’s not going well, the jet lag, and I don’t want to I don’t want to succumb. You know, [Music] a red flag of mine is that I open a lot of cans with my teeth. So, thank you for holding space for me. Come on, baby. You got this. I can do it for you. Oh, it’s very slippery. We’re in Japan. got us face masks that are less thick than the K95 ones that we wear during flights just because like everyone in Japan masks for the most part still so I want to be mindful respectful demure you know and then just uh some water. Yeah, that’s the coffee babe. Okay, we’re in this guys. We taste test the chips. We’re going to stay awake. Corn chip taste test. [Music] The reason why I don’t like corn flavored chips is because they are so sweet and I’m not that the sweetest I can do for a chip is a barbecue chip. And even that sometimes is a little too sweet for me. I despise the honey butter chips that are available. Y’all know what I’m talking about. The Kelby way too sweet. So, I’m intrigued. They smell like the honey butter chips. Cheers. It fell out of my mouth. A sign from God perhaps. But it gets better at the end. I feel like it does taste like grilled corn. For a second, I became a corn on the cob that was roasting on the cob. Yeah. Like it tastes like I I was for a moment in time. Yeah. It tastes like that. Wow. No. No. But Oh, this if you’re watching this video, I wish that I could feed this to you because I know you would love it. It tastes so much like grilled corn. This is not like the other corn chips that I typically hate because they’re way too sweet. I’m so startled by how much it tastes like. Yeah. It takes you on the entire flavor journey of having a bite of corn on the I’m completely shocked by this. But you still don’t like it. No. Why? I don’t want to eat a grilled corn chip. I don’t understand that. I think grilled corn should be kept in its purest form as a grilled corn. I don’t think it belongs in a chip flavor. I think this chip is like a 9 out of 10. What the I just This is crazy. I just don’t personally but like don’t you agree like it’s a great chip. I just personally don’t I know what you mean. It does what it set out to do quite well. It is exa if you for some reason are craving a crispy potato chip that tastes exactly like a fresh corn on the cob that’s grilling and this is your roll. Yeah. Ooh, you guys. Cass is struggling. No, no, no. I’m okay. I’m in it. But you know, I feel like jet lag is like it’s so fine until it’s not okay. Yeah. For context, it is 1:00 in the morning, Pacific Standard Time, and so it’s like 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning, Eastern Standard Time. So, it’s just We’re struggling. We’re struggling. This coffee though, babe, we’re going to fight the good fight. We’re going to try to sleep at like 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m. Rager 8:00 p.m. at the latest. [Music] Y’all, the jet lag is kicking our [ __ ] ass so bad or hard. But we’re forcing ourselves to go out, though. A nap sounds tempting. I’m not even going to put on any makeup so that when we get back, I can just fall right into bed. Let’s go explore Sapuro, y’all. You guys, I’m so jetlagged that I’ve been forgetting to vlog, but we walked over to Gu. I’m so exhausted. We’ve been in here for like 45 minutes and I’m getting so delirious that I’ve convinced myself that I could fit this toddler shirt. I fear not though it is very cute. I know the answer is that I can’t. But Cass and I just ordered a melting salmon bowl. It translated to drinkable salmon bowl. I also ordered a meat bowl in Japanese, but he gave me an explanation that I didn’t understand, but I agreed to it. So, I don’t know what we’re eating. I got a corn tea. Cat’s got a lemon chuhai. In that sip, I became a corn kernel. That’s the corniest tea I’ve ever had. I too became past two became a corn colonel. [Music] The jet lag is getting to me. I got it half seared cuz why not? They are cut to 5 mm in thickness, which is insanely thin. [Music] I’m fading, you guys. I’m fading fast. [Music] Hey guys, I’m I’m off the lemon shoe guys. Two of them. But I want to show you my favorite ice cream in Japan. I get this like every night when we’re here and it’s so good. Okay, so this diva. So this is a waffle cone, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream. Come to the comini with us. So excited for this sour cantaloupe. I can’t imagine what a sour cantaloupe gummy tastes like. And I always have to get a green tea. Did you get a coffee? A coffee. If you weren’t a coward cast, you would get these samurai sauce flavored Belgian fries. Why does it have to be predicated on me being a coward? What chips would you have chose yourself if I was here? Yeah. Maybe I would have chosen these chicken flavored nuts. That’s not a chip. That’s a nut. These intrigue me. Oh, edamame flavor. Oh, beer beans. Beer beans. I maybe would have gotten these. I’m stealing cases toner nioinamide [Music] snail mucin as those skin care products sink in before I apply vitamin C moisturizer and sunscreen. I’m going to clean up my desk. I’m going to show you guys. It looks like a bomb blew off in here and I’ve been here for less than a day. I’m gonna clean everything up so that hopefully this desk is more functional because I haven’t even started my makeup yet and it’s already this messy. Like what? How did I managed to do this? Oh my god. Okay, now I can do my makeup. Time to finish my skinare. Vitamin C. We only have a night cream as moisturizer. And of course, the most important thing, sunscreen. I am going to quickly do my makeup and change into my outfit, which I bought at GU yesterday. But I will see y’all once Cass and I are ready to tackle the day. Hello cuties. I just finished my makeup and now I just have to do my hair, put on the accessories, and then we’re done. Cass is still sleeping. So now at this point, I’m going to wake our sweet baby angel, Taurus, up. I know, the worst crime one can commit, waking up a Taurus, but alas, it’s 10:00 a.m. and I think ideally we’d like to be out of the house by latest noon, but we’ll see. Good morning. Good morning. I just woke up and my something weird about Asia is that you wake up to crazy emails because like the whole workday will have passed by the time you’re awake. So like I just got an email that I got into a conference in Spain and I’m really excited. Congratulations baby. It was one of my goals to get into an international conference. So I’m feeling very excited and Spain is definitely a bucket list place. So, I’m excited. So proud of you, sweetie. Y’all, Cass has been working so hard and so tirelessly. They’re genuinely one of the nerdiest people like I’ve ever met in my life. And I’m just so happy that their interests and all. What? What? Why you glaring at me? No, not cuz I called you a nerd. What was wrong with you? Nothing. I wasn’t glaring. I I am a nerd. I’m just so so happy to see the fruits of their academic labor. They worked so hard for so long. So, congratulations, Mamui. I’m so proud of you. Both Cass and I were kind of seen as like academic hooligans in high school. So, it’s just wonderful to see the transformation, more of like an unveiling of Cass’s true academic progress. Congratulations, honey. I had a dream that you let me sleep all the way through the whole day. Oh, I got in a big fight about it. Why’d you waste a day? Like, like and you were like, you just looked like you were sleeping so well. And I was like, “What the fuck?” A real fight that we would actually get into. Both of my earring backs, which I only have one pair, fell out yesterday. Oh, actually, no. I have a silver pair of earrings. Let me go grab those silver bad boys that I believe I got on my previous Japan trip with my Kim. Everyone, Cass just bought this shirt from GU yesterday. Don’t they look so cute? Yes, baby. My angels, Cass is about to take you out to the Kini to get me hairspray and also specifically to Family Mart because I really want Cass to try the Tamago sando and Fami Tiki combination. Luckily, I’m in good company because all of Japan is as well. This neck, she gets fried. So, that’s why she’s covered today. You know the vibes. We’re going to go. I’m excited. Little fit check for y’all. Know the vibes. Got this at GU yesterday. Feeling very cute about it. I don’t usually go for color, but it’s a moment. It is bright and it is hot today. Japanese summers are very intense. Trying to keep the vibes high despite the crazy heat. [Music] So, the sun is so hot that when you’re waiting for the crosswalk, everyone waits in the shade. So, I’m just following everyone else’s lead, you know? I think that’s the way to do it. The Family Mart is right there. So now we just wait to cross the street. No one jaywalks. It would be like a complete social faux paw to do that. So you just wait. And it’s really lovely. It’s just such a slow, patient rhythm of life here in a way that I really appreciate and vibe with. It’s so nice to be here. Life is so good. Going to grab an umbrella for the sun because everyone here uses them and these are UV blocking which is so nice. This tiny cute bee. I can’t. It’s like the size of my hands. So cute. We’ve done it. We’ve got our latte. We’ve got our umbrella. Doing very good. So, we’ll see how it goes with this chicken sandwich. I’m thrilled. I saw the video of Bretman eating it and I was like, I must I must picture that. Thanks for coming with me, you all. The goods the goods have been obtained.
