President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Japan for the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), taking place from August 20 to 22 in Yokohama.

His plane landed at Haneda International Airport at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday (still Monday in Nigeria). He was welcomed by Ambassador Hideo Matsubara, Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, and Nigerian embassy officials.

Tinubu departed Abuja on August 15, with a brief stopover in Dubai, and is accompanied by ministers and top aides.

He is expected to attend plenaries, hold bilateral talks, and meet with CEOs of Japanese firms investing in Nigeria.
