Let’s go hike Japan’s largest active volcano. If you want to feel like you’re hiking on Mars, Mount Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture is a place to be. [Music] It has such a gorgeous landscape, but the hike is not so difficult. You can do it as a day hike in 5 hours if you’re doing its highest peaks, Nakadake and Takadake. Plus, you get a stamp at the observatory and the Asukuja National Park stamp in the Asa Volcano Museum if you’re collecting it.
To ge to Mt. Aso, head over to Kumamoto, then get to Aso Station, and then take the bus to Aso Sanjo Bus Terminal.
