The Global Infrastructure Facility and the Quality Infrastructure Investment Partnership, both housed within the Global Infrastructure Finance Department at the World Bank, will co-host a session on mobilizing private capital for advancing quality infrastructure investment. The discussion will highlight the importance of project preparation and risk mitigation to attract investment. It will also explore ways to enhance collaboration among public and private stakeholders to support sustainable and resilient infrastructure in emerging and developing economies. The session includes an interactive panel discussion, with representatives from AfDB, JICA and MUFG Bank, sharing insights into how best to advance the private investment.

The event will showcase the achievements of the efforts led by countries across Africa in promoting disaster risk reduction and resilient infrastructure over the past decade, with support from the World Bank and GFDRR’s Japan-World Bank Program for Developing Countries in Disaster Risk Reduction (managed by the Tokyo DRM Hub) supported by Japan’s Ministry of Finance. The panel will discuss the successes and challenges, and how to further strengthen disaster and climate resilience in this changing world.
