KATSEYE delivered an unforgettable set at Summer Sonic Tokyo on Sunday, August 17, marking another career milestone for the fast-rising global girl group. Performing as a five-member lineup due to Manon’s health-related absence, the group brought both energy and emotion to the festival stage, balancing their polished choreography with heartfelt words for their bandmate.

The Tokyo concert followed a turbulent week for KATSEYE. Days earlier, the group was forced to cancel their Summer Sonic Osaka appearance after two members fell ill. Hopes remained high for their Tokyo show, but a last-minute update confirmed that Manon would be sitting out the performance under her doctor’s advice. “She has made the decision to rest in order to recover as soon as possible,” read the group’s official statement.

Despite the setback, the five remaining members—Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae—rose to the occasion, igniting the crowd with a setlist that showcased both fan favorites and recent hits. The performance opened with the hit single “Gameboy” before moving into “Debut” and “Tonight I Might,” tracks that have quickly become staples of their live shows. The setlist included the infectious “Gabriela” and closed with the group’s biggest hit “Gnarly.”

SETLIST:

• Gameboy

• Debut

• Tonight I Might

• My Way

• Mean Girls

• Gabriela

• Touch

• M.I.A

• Gnarly

Midway through the set, Sophia paused to acknowledge Manon’s absence and offer fans a moment of connection. “Tokyo, we all miss Manon so much, you know… but she’s trying her best to recover as soon as possible. So please send Manon all of your love,” she said, prompting cheers and applause from the crowd.

The performance comes during a breakthrough summer for KATSEYE. Earlier this month, the group made headlines with a record-setting appearance at Lollapalooza 2025, drawing the largest daytime crowd in the festival’s history with an estimated 85,000 attendees.

Formed in 2023 through the HYBE x Geffen global audition program, KATSEYE has rapidly built a reputation for commanding live stages and delivering polished pop performances. Their second EP Beautiful Chaos, released in June, has further cemented their status, becoming their first top five entry on the Billboard 200.
