Nippon baseball (NPB) and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation announced the July “SKY Perfect! walk-off Award” winners on the 15th. The winners were Yakult ‘s Yuhiro Akabane from Central League and Orix ‘s Keita Nakagawa from Pacific League.

On Monday, July 21st, in the 13th game against Hiroshima at Jingu Stadium, Akabane hit a dramatic, game-winning, three-run Home Run walk-off that hit the left field pole in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs and runners on first and third base in the bottom of the ninth inning, leading the game 4-6.

On Wednesday, July 16th, in the 13th game against Rakuten at Kyocera D Osaka, with the score tied 0-0 in the bottom of the ninth inning, with two outs and no runner on base, Nakagawa hit a dramatic walk-off home run into the left field stands, leading his team to their seventh walk-off win of the season.

The winning player will be presented with a trophy and a prize of 300,000 yen by Sky Perfect TV.
