日中同性カップル|夏の日帰り淡路島ドライブVlog|本福寺(水御堂)&釜揚げしらす|食べ旅

Our first video upload. You might hear some quirky Japanese now and then, so please go easy on us (lol). This time we’re heading to Awaji Island in a rental car. We’ve arrived at Honpuku-ji.
The weather’s great today—just a bit hot. It was super hot, huh. It is a little hot though. It was pretty hot though… Anyway, whatever—let’s head in. I heard this building was designed by Tadao Ando. Oh, I see. The destination for this trip. I’m not that into temples and shrines, so I was like “whatever,” but we still came to Honpuku‑ji. Feels like it really pops on camera. It’s making me want to go in. Ooh—nice vibe here, right? It really is impressive. It’s different from other temples. What’s different about it? There’s this red door. Pretty cool, right? Seems like any shrine or temple would have that. Nah, you can only see this here. The DJI camera angle is a bit too free. It’s pointing way up, though. Don’t mind it. About that previous spot— from dark into light, the way you progress step by step,
I think there was some meaning to that. Hmm, not sure about that. That’s what you said! I don’t know Japanese. This place kind of feels like this—pretty nice, actually.
The lotus flowers were in full bloom and beautiful. It’s summer, huh. We came to a local supermarket. There are tons of fish—they’re kind of gross though. ’Cause there are so many—it’s a bit scary. I have no idea how you’re supposed to eat this. Well, that’s true. I really don’t know how to eat Japanese fish. I don’t know how to make it. It’s tough for foreigners. Yeah, for someone who doesn’t usually cook, preparing fish is a pretty big hurdle. Awaji Island’s specialty. Shirasu (whitebait). Something like “fried shirasu,” I guess. Kama‑age shirasu (boiled whitebait). They were selling it. This is the other goal of this trip. We came to eat shirasu. Here, Shuu was the one driving, he couldn’t reverse well and had to back and forth five or six times,
so I teased him about it. Well, it can’t be helped—it’s a tricky place. We came to eat things like seafood bowls this time, but grilling and set‑meal/kaisendon seating is separated. We were having a set meal, so they guided us to that section. We’re in! The place was super empty—almost no one. Was this a weekday? Here’s the menu—so many options. What’s on the menu? I forgot, but anyway we’re here for raw shirasu. We got half raw shirasu and half boiled shirasu. Shirasu, huh. First up was a half‑and‑half shirasu bowl.
Half boiled shirasu and half raw shirasu. Look, look—this looks great! Looks delicious! Let’s dig in ×2. It also came with miso soup—this one’s fish head/bone miso soup. Kind of like a meaty broth… Is this octopus rice (?) Ah… It’s kaisendon (seafood bowl)! There were quite a few toppings. Like this—the fish was super fresh and thick‑cut,
and it had bouncy octopus, too. Apparently it has five kinds of sashimi. For the first bite, definitely with raw shirasu,
and having it together with boiled shirasu is tasty. How was it—taste‑wise? It doesn’t have much flavor by itself. Not much flavor, but it tastes of the sea. The sea salt with raw shirasu is great. The sea salt with raw shirasu is great. Yeah. What a terrible food review, lol. It’s a place we’d like to visit again. That’s not how it sounded to me, though. We paid and headed to the next spot. We came to a coffee factory I wanted to visit. Apparently this place is super famous on Chinese social media. I noticed it when I came in, too— Seems they have shops run by the same company in Osaka. I’ve been to the one in Osaka. No wonder it’s popular. If there’s one in Osaka and one here on Awaji, it must be really popular. Then we didn’t necessarily have to come here on Awaji—
right? That’s kind of what you’d think. Here’s the menu. And what did we order? A hot coffee and ice cream. Not just a hot coffee. A hot café latte. Oh, a latte. A latte and an affogato…? It’s coffee jelly, actually. One is coffee jelly topped
with rich soft-serve ice cream; and we ordered a cute latte. Haha, they made a “heart”-latte (I misheard it as “hard”). “Hard-type latte”? (Did you mishear?) A heart-shaped latte—cute, right? How’s the taste? Tastes good—really good. Kinda “heartbreak,” huh. (pun) That’s mean. That’s odd… The soft serve is rich, but honestly it’s pretty standard. Yeah…true. It’s not like a super distinctive soft-serve—
that’s the feeling I get. Just normally tasty. Not really memorable. They roast their own beans here too, apparently. Yeah, roasting and such. They sell all kinds of coffee, I’m not very knowledgeable, but they list the origins, and there are various coffee beans,
plus drip coffee to buy. Shuu is more of a coffee person. I’m definitely a tea person, so I just browsed. Next we came to a wagashi shop. This was my request— I love checking out places like wagashi and patisserie, local shops unique to the area, and this place was popular, so we came. Huh, what did we come to buy again? What kind of segue is that? Like these chocolate-covered figs, and chocolate-covered orange peel—
we came to get those, but… it was too hot, so we passed, and picked up things like yokan
and some other sweets, then left. Next up was a takoyaki shop. I really love takoyaki, so Yuu looked it up properly for us. The popular item is giant takoyaki with octopus sticking out. We ordered fried octopus legs plus takoyaki—and this pudding. This place also sells eggs, right? Wow—look. That’s a massive leg. It’s hard to tell in photos or video, but there’s a pretty big chunk of octopus in there. Like this. It really tastes strongly of octopus. The texture’s bouncy and chewy—tasty. Next we went to a senbei shop. This one’s also a popular factory-direct place, where you can try tons of senbei samples, and you can buy them at a bargain. You can pick different senbei and sample them here. How many samples were there—around thirty? Quite a lot. Yeah, exactly. We were eating and thinking, “Wait, which kind was this again?”
Kinda lost track. Just instant coffee (?) The free one. Yep—free. There were so many types we couldn’t decide. In the end we did two or three rounds of samples (!).
then picked what to take home. How many kinds did we buy? Four? Maybe four or five? Yeah, about four or five—we bought quite a lot. We pretty much went on a buying spree. After that we went to a roadside station. Finally bought the onion ponzu we’d been wanting. Lots of onion in there—looks tasty. We also got onion soup—Shuu’s request. And some veggies and stuff, That’s it for today’s trip. … Thanks for watching. Nice. Bye-bye. We’ll keep posting chill videos, so please give it a Like & Subscribe, thank you!
