Episode #55: Snowy Adventure in Biei – Visiting Alpaca Farm
our journey to the Alpaca Farm in VA began in asahikawa where the city was blanketed in a soft layer of snow before departing we had breakfast at yoshinori coffee near our hotel a warm and cozy start to the day the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as we enjoyed a simple yet satisfying meal fueling us for the adventure [Music] ahead boarding the train we watched as the urban scenery gradually faded replaced by vast Open Fields and Rolling Hills all covered in pristine white the further we traveled the more the landscape transformed into a winter wonderland with snow Laden trees standing like frozen Sentinels along the railway we arrived at Bashi station a small quiet stop in the middle of the snowy country Countryside stepping off the train we were met with the absolute Stillness of the surroundings broken only by the crunch of snow beneath our feet from there we began our long walk towards the Alpaca Farm the road stretched ahead flanked by untouched snow fields that shimmered under the soft [Music] daylight it took us around 30 minutes one way a journey that felt both peaceful and rewarding surrounded by the breathtaking winter [Music] scenery after what felt like a journey through a winter fairy tale we finally reached the farm [Music] the sight of the alpacas was a heartwarming reward they gazed at us curiously their gentle eyes full of warmth a stark yet beautiful contrast to the cold [Music] surroundings we got the chance to feed them feeling the soft nuzzle of their mouths against our hands as they eagerly took the treats it was a simple but joyful experience one that made the Long Walk feel even more worthwhile as we stood there taking in the quiet beauty of the farm our eyes were drawn to the breathtaking view of the TOA chake mountain range in the distance partially veiled in Mist its snow covered Peaks Rose majestically against the winter Sky creating a scene that felt almost surreal [Music] before heading back we treated ourselves to a local ice cream its creamy richness a delightful contrast to the cold air around us the sweetness lingered as we began our return Journey retracing our steps through the snowy landscape as we arrived back at Bashi station waiting for the train to asahikawa we looked out at the endless white Fields once more savoring the memories of day spent in the quiet beauty of va’s winter Countryside [Music]
