【岡山ひとり旅】岡山・倉敷の絶品グルメ13店と観光スポットを巡る!おすすめ満喫プラン|岡山旅行【okayama vlog】
This time I’m traveling solo to Okayama and Kurashiki for 3 days and 2 nights. I’ll introduce 13 Okayama gourmet restaurants, spectacular views, and recommended hotels. I hope you’ll read to the end. I had a little time after security check, so I went to the lounge and had a black vinegar drink. I sat in a seat with a view of the planes ♪ It was nice to be able to relax. I’m on a JAL flight to Okayama. It’s been a while since I’ve had a window seat, and I’m excited for the start of my trip. Hmm , the weather looks iffy… Okayama is famous as the “Land of Sunshine,” but it was raining today. Momotaro was on the baggage conveyor belt. My plane was a little late, so I have 50 minutes until the next bus. What should I do? Maybe I’ll check out the souvenir shops ! There was a restaurant, and there’s lots of Okayama gourmet food! Let’s go inside! The restaurant has a spacious, retro atmosphere. They serve Okayama specialties like demi-katsudon, horumon udon, and shrimp rice. I couldn’t decide which one to order: “Demi-katsu,” which is pork cutlet topped with demi-glace sauce; or “Ebimeshi,” which is stir-fried with special sauces made with caramel, ketchup, and curry powder. Crispy pork cutlet smothered in rich demi-glace sauce. I wondered what Western-style sauce would go well with pork cutlet, but it was even more delicious than I imagined. The impactful, jet-black “Ebimeshi” had a sweet and spicy flavor that was addictive! Okayama’s B-grade gourmet food is delicious! It was my first time trying it, but it had a nostalgic taste. I ate the rice…and… and before I knew it, I’d finished it all. Thank you for the meal ! It was time to head to the bus stop, so I took the limousine bus to Okayama Station. It’s 30 minutes from the airport, so I arrived quickly. Okayama is said to be the birthplace of the Momotaro legend. Now, let’s go for dessert! It’s a two-minute walk from the station. Once you see the shop, there’s no sign outside, so it’s like a hidden cafe only known to those in the know. Go up the stairs and you’ll see the shop on your right. Inside, there’s a bookshelf and a relaxing atmosphere. The shop’s menu offers a wide variety of coffee and drinks. Okayama is famous for its fruit, so let’s order the strawberry parfait! ♪ This parfait is made with plenty of strawberries from Okayama Prefecture , and it includes dekopon, cherry blossom cake, and cherry blossom ice cream. There’s also kiwi and cream cheese underneath. It’s so luxurious! Let’s eat ! The color of the strawberries is so beautiful…! Sweet, fresh, and delicious!♡ This dekopon was also super sweet. Is it a cherry blossom tree or a ladybug? So cute!♡ The flavor is authentic! The rich flavor and smooth milk foam!♪ Also , I was blown away by this cherry blossom cake. It was based on cheesecake, and the cherry blossom flavor was strong and delicious. You can really feel the shop’s attention to detail in this parfait. It’s nice that it’s filled with fruit all the way to the bottom, and the bottom was matcha pudding . It was a generous portion and very satisfying! By the way, there was also a small parfait (610 yen). I recommend it because you can enjoy a special parfait in a relaxing space. Cafe Honmachi is open until midnight, so it’s also good for a night cafe. Next time, I’ll go for dinner. It’s an izakaya that specializes in Okayama cuisine. The plum wine soothes my dry throat!! The appetizers arrived: boiled Spanish mackerel, perfect as a snack with alcohol. Fried shrimp, crispy and delicious!! Super delicious!! The boiled rape blossoms were seasoned so well that I could eat them forever. It was the first time I’d ever seen yellow chives in my life, a specialty of Okayama. First, I tried it with the plum paste. It was crunchy and slightly sweet, and it was… so delicious!! It goes well with the plum paste too! Next time I’ll have it with yuzu sauce . The yuzu goes well with it too♡ I really love yellow chives . I should have bought some at the supermarket. I’ve only recently been able to eat wasabi, so I’ll try adding that too. It ‘s spicy and delicious . Everything goes well with it, and it’s delicious. Fresh sashimi unique to Okayama. First of all, wild flounder. Wow, so sweet!! Delicious! Thick-cut local octopus. So plump and delicious! Premium fish, pomfret! This is my first time eating this sashimi , unique to Okayama. The flavor is elegant and rich. All the sashimi is delicious, and it brings a smile to my face♪ Sankaku, a rare cut of Okayama Wagyu beef! The meat is juicy, melt-in-your-mouth delicious!! This is the best!! Eating delicious food is what makes me happiest♪ It was a delicious and wonderful dinner. I took the train to my hotel in Kurashiki. Arrived at Kurashiki Station . It seems to be located in the shopping district . It’s a 5-minute walk from the station. I arrived at the hotel. It’s so stylish! I checked in. There was a tasting corner next to the front desk. I got a free glass of sake and wine! I chose a super sweet wine. The Muscat grape flavor was strong and delicious! The amenities were next to the elevator. I stayed in a room on the second floor. The hotel was built in 2020, so everything is new and clean. The room was calming and modern Japanese . There was a kettle, bottled water, and powdered tea. There was a charger on the shelf , so I don’t have to worry if I forget my phone. There was a refrigerator , a sofa, and a round table . The in-house wear had a cute Japanese pattern and a clean, unit-style bath. The hairdryer was Panasonic. Today’s outfit was a cute, smooth dress with watercolor flowers. After changing into my in-house wear, I headed to the public bath on the 11th floor. I hope I can relax in the public bath. The public bath was beautiful and relaxing, and I was able to relax and feel refreshed! There was also a tub bath. The water was great . I ate delicious food and had a great time today. Good night. Today I’m going to eat and sightsee in Kurashiki. As I walked down the shopping street from the hotel, the cityscape changed. I saw swans! It was mid-April, and the cherry blossoms were still in bloom on the Kurashiki River. It was so beautiful! I was so moved by this beautiful scenery ! I went to buy tickets for the Kurashiki Riverboat . I bought tickets for the riverboat at the tourist information center . Since I arrived early in the morning, there were still tickets available. I bought an evening ticket. I’m looking forward to riding it ! I arrived at Kurashiki Denim Street! The Kojima district of Kurashiki City is the birthplace of Japanese jeans, the first place in Japan to produce them. The takeout corner sells blue food inspired by denim: a truly blue steamed bun! I wore a denim jacket to match the Kurashiki scene, but the whole screen turned blue! (lol) The inside is filled with meat paste made from black pork. It tasted like a regular steamed bun! It didn’t taste like denim at all! (lol) Apparently, the blue fabric is made with natural gardenia flower pigments! It was delicious! ♪ I’ll check out the shop too! Inside, there were lots of clothes made with Kurashiki denim, and some highly designed denim bags. There was also a cute pouch. Next, let’s go for dessert. This cafe is famous for its fruit parfaits. The drink in the set menu is iced tea. The parfait is made with plenty of Shine Muscat grapes from Okayama Prefecture. There’s a white wine jelly underneath . Let ‘s eat ! It’s sweet and delicious! The Shine Muscat grapes were so fresh and delicious , and it also came with a delicious milk gelato. I was so happy to be able to eat so much of my favorite Shine Muscat grapes . Kurashiki Momoko has five stores in Kurashiki, and each store has a different parfait menu, so I recommend checking the menu beforehand and going to the store you want to try. Next, let’s go for lunch. I’ll have the signature dish, “Raw egg on rice,” at this 100-year-old traditional Japanese cafe. I’ll also order the “Happy Pudding” set. The eggs and rice are free to refill! So happy! “Asahi rice” from Okayama Prefecture, grown without pesticides or fertilizers, and the eggs are from Okayama Prefecture. The yolks are dark! I’ll eat it with yellow chive soy sauce ! Looks delicious! Let’s eat! It’s so delicious! ! The seasoning of the yellow chives and soy sauce is also excellent! The miso soup is the most delicious I’ve ever had with egg on rice, with plenty of seaweed and green onions. I’ll add more toppings to the second bowl. First, the Okayama Wagyu beef miso, delicious!! The rich meat miso goes perfectly with the fluffy egg on rice! Next, the Hiruzen Jersey butter, this is undeniably delicious! The butter is creamy yet refreshingly delicious. I had seconds of rice and eggs! I tried the fried tempura bits on top (free) – it was amazing! The pudding with the cute smiley face is a smooth pudding made with Okayama eggs and Hiruzen Jersey milk. It ‘s smooth and has no peculiar taste, and you can really taste the deliciousness of the delicious ingredients . It feels like something good will happen to you two weeks after eating this pudding! I wonder if something good will happen ♪ Next, I’m off to the art museum and I’ll buy a ticket. The Ohara Museum of Art, founded in 1930, is Japan’s first private art museum with a Western focus . You can visit three museums: the Main Building, the Crafts Museum, and the Kojima Torajiro Memorial Museum. Personally, I enjoyed the Crafts Museum. The artworks were wonderful, and I liked the attention to detail in the lighting and design of the building. It’s well worth seeing, so I recommend it to museum lovers. I went to the cafe “El Greco” next to the Ohara Museum of Art. The interior is calm and gives off a Taisho-era romantic vibe. I had a refreshing meal. The rare cheesecake had a bouncy texture! The blueberry sauce was sweet and sour and delicious! It was not too sweet, easy to eat, and really delicious! Next, I’ll board the boat for which I bought a ticket that morning. I’ll put on this hat and ride. I’m so excited! Off we go! The boatman will guide us through the streets of Kurashiki. It’s fun to see something different from the view from the road! We passed under the bridge. Even some Japanese black ducks were swimming! It was so cute! It was a relaxing 20-minute stroll through Kurashiki’s streets. We arrived at Hamayoshi, a popular izakaya (Japanese pub) serving local Setouchi fish. Lemon sour is delicious! The appetizer was pufferfish skin with ponzu sauce. It had a crunchy texture and was absolutely delicious! Okayama’s local dish, mamakari sushi, is made with pickled mamakari fish. It’s refreshing yet incredibly flavorful, and I love how the staff let us compare the taste of male and female mamakari! The males have a soft, light texture, while the females are larger , thicker, and more moist. This was my first time trying mamakari sushi, and it was absolutely delicious. We were also very satisfied with dinner on the second day . After checking out, we headed out for lunch. This is a bukkake udon restaurant with a long history in Kurashiki. It ‘s a meat-filled noodle soup topped with “umeboshi” (pickled plums) . It also contains kamaboko (fish cake) and kelp. Itadakimasu (thank you for the meal ). The noodles are soft, which I like. The meat is soft and flavorful. The sauce is soy sauce-based, with an exquisite balance of sweetness and spiciness, making it delicious! I’ll change the flavor with shichimi spices. The umeboshi topping is also perfect. Delicious. Thank you for the meal. Today I’m going on a food tour in Kurashiki again. The long-established fish cake shop “Ozakiya” has dumplings with love fortunes . The dumplings are super cute ♡ They’re chewy and delicious, and they come with cherry blossom-shaped bean paste. They look great in photos. Pink marshmallows. Finally, I opened the love fortune and it was a great fortune ♪ A shop where you can buy Miffy bread and goods. There are also goods exclusive to the Kurashiki store, which were cute ♪ I fell in love with the Miffy Anpan at first sight . I’ll buy some ♪ I bought it as a souvenir and ate it at home, The bread was fragrant and the bean paste was delicious. The croquettes, which are very popular in Kurashiki, have a spicy, adult flavor . They were quite thick, so the potato flavor wasn’t too strong. Next, I decided to go for a drink. I bought a juice with a bear ice cream on top . The bear vanilla ice cream was so cute! ♡ It was filled with yuzu honey sauce and was refreshing and delicious. The bear ice cream had a sherbet-like texture, which made it really refreshing. I loved the view of Kurashiki’s Bikan Historical Quarter. Finally, I saw the swans, then headed to my next destination. From Kurashiki Station, I took the train to Okayama Station. Arriving at Okayama Station , I took a bus to Okayama Korakuen Garden. Glad I made it just in time… oh no, it’s been 10 minutes and we still haven’t arrived! It seems I got on the wrong bus! Oh no! I was saved by finding a taxi as soon as I got off the bus . I made it to Korakuen Garden safely. So good! I bought a ticket. I’ll buy a combined ticket for Okayama Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle. Korakuen Garden is one of Japan’s three most famous gardens, boasting a history of over 300 years, and its large pond is incredibly beautiful! Wherever you look, it’s beautiful and relaxing. There’s a 6m high mountain, and when I climbed it, the view was spectacular! The carp swimming leisurely were so cute! I’m glad I got to see this view! Next, I head to Okayama Castle, which is located just across the bridge. We’ve arrived! The jet-black castle tower is cool! Okayama Castle reopened in November 2022 after the “Reiwa Great Renovation.” This black-painted castle is also known as the “Crow Castle.” Let’s go inside! The history of Okayama Castle is clearly written on the wall. First, take the elevator to the 4th floor and then take the stairs to the top floor, the 6th floor. The window shapes are distinctive! There’s a golden Shachihoko…! We’ve arrived on the first floor. There’s an experience corner themed around the Sengoku and Edo periods. There’s a video in front, and you can actually hold a gun. There’s also a sword. Swords are so heavy! My hand trembles when I use one hand . The exhibits were easy to look at and were fun. On the way back, I took the tram to Okayama Station. I arrived in front of Okayama Station and took a bus to Okayama Airport. Come to think of it, this time I ate the most of my trip so far! When I got home and stepped on the scale, I had gained 2kg (lol). But that just goes to show how much fun it was! I didn’t know much about Okayama before coming, but the food was really delicious, and the atmosphere in Kurashiki was great and it was a lot of fun! The places I introduced this time are listed in the description, so please refer to them if you like. Thank you for watching until the end.
