먹고 또 먹고, 오사카 밥순례길🍣 하루 세 끼가 행복했던 여행
[Hello there] [As soon as the school vacation ceremony ended, we picked up the kids and headed straight to the airport] [I escaped to Osaka because I didn’t want to cook three meals a day] [The first stop on our food pilgrimage in Osaka is] [of course, the “Ippudo” ramen shop!] [It’s our family’s go-to ramen shop, so many times we can’t even count] [The eldest prefers ramen with just a hint of chili oil] [The youngest chose fried rice] [I went for the spicy ramen, the kind that packs a punch] [To me, it seems even spicier than Shin Ramyun] [And of course, we can’t forget the gyoza] [We ordered a set of 10 gyoza, but I think we might need more] [We were all so focused on eating, not a word was spoken at the table] [And yes, we ordered another round of gyoza] [It was so delicious, we wiped off the plates clean] [We ended up going back several more times after that] [On our way back to the accommodation, we also enjoyed the seasonal Shine Muscat Soda from Starbucks. Yum] [This is Harves Mart located at Umeda Station] [Whenever we come to Osaka, this is our regular stop] [We tried Negitoro when we first came here] [We fell in love with the taste, so now we make sure to visit every trip] [There’s also the Yuzu-flavored Inari Sushi that our second child particularly loves] [You might find it surprising to taste yuzu in inari sushi, but] [the moist and soft texture is truly special] [The great thing about this place is that there’s space to sit and enjoy your meal] [You can enjoy a simple yet hearty lunch here at your leisure] [And we can’t forget the Japanese melon] [We bought a fragrant and sweet melon] [We ate it with great delight and satisfaction] [This is Moheji located in the Lucua Department Store at Osaka Station] [We first went to this store that was located in Tokyo, Shibuya] [The first menu item is Grilled Squid] [They grill it with squid innards and butter] [The rich and savory flavor even won over the kids] [It was so delicious before that we ended up eating two plates] [The second signature dish here is Mentaiko Mochi Monjayaki] [For our family who loves Pollock Roe, this menu is simply perfect] [As you take each bite with a small scoop] [before you know it, the next dish is already served] [The final dish is Moheji Yakisoba] [The first time I tried it, I was absolutely amazed] [Usually, Japanese Yakisoba is on the salty side] [but here, it’s not salty and has a delightful sesame oil aroma] [Maybe that’s why it felt more familiar and delicious] [However, if there’s one downside] [it’s that the taste can vary slightly depending on who makes it] [This is Toyotei, a Hambagu specialty restaurant located in Namba Station Takashimaya Department Store] [When you order the set menu, it comes with a tomato salad] [and when you eat it with the salad underneath, it has a refreshing and harmonious taste] [Not only is the Hambagu delicious here, but the curry is also really tasty] [So, we ordered one curry and the rest Hambagu] [The bread was so good that we ordered two with bread and one with rice] [The Hambagu is soft, delicious, and the sauce is universally appealing] [The accompanying potatoes are also soft and so delicious that you can’t stop reaching for them] [We often went to cafés with great views] [This is And Island in Kitahama, where you can really feel the European vibe] [Despite the hot weather, we bravely sat on the terrace] [I was sitting with my child when suddenly a pigeon approached, giving us quite a surprise, but] [it was a small moment of healing] [This is the Food Park in Uji] [It’s affordable yet delicious, making it a must-visit when in Uji] [Today, we ordered two Steak Donburi and a Wagyu hamburger] [It seems the second child almost ate the entire hamburger alone] [The Steak Donburi is topped with an egg yolk] [on top of which I lightly pour soy sauce and mix it up] [and when you add wasabi, the flavor fills your mouth] [Raising two boys, I always end up starting my meals late] [This is the Nakamura Tokichi Byodoin Branch in Uji] [I really love the view in Uji] [so it’s a place I always visit when I’m in Osaka] [The scenery of Japanese houses lined along the river is truly picture-perfect] [I tried ordering the Frappe everyone raves about, but it’s way too sweet] [Today, I got lucky and snagged a window seat for the first time] [Today, I just want to linger here for as long as I can] [I wish this moment, this view, would pass slowly, and last long] [Found a gem in Arashiyama for Milk Tea Ice Cream] [This charming little cafe is just so pretty] [Those pretty teacups caught my eye, but it’s way too hot for tea today] [Milk Tea Ice Cream + Scone, and the kids are keeping it fresh with lemonade] [The ice cream I’ve been waiting for is finally here] [Isn’t it just beautiful, even from the looks of it?] [Honestly, I came here because I was smitten by how it looks] [But it tastes great too, I’m satisfied] [The firstborn tries a bite too!] [Time for a Scone] [The Scone crumbled right away as the fisrtborn jabbed at it] [Pecan Scone with raspberry jam] [Plain Scone with lemon custard] [The view outside is a bonus! But it’s too hot to muster the courage to step out] [This is a soba specialty restaurant in Kyoto] [The youngest is having udon, while we’re enjoying soba and tempura] [The youngest’s udon is served first! It’s his first try, so we’re all excited] [One bite, and he says it’s delicious! Finished it in a flash] [I’m trying the soba! Hmm. Just your typical soba taste] [It’s nothing special, but still tasty] [The udon is so chewy that I couldn’t resist sneaking a bite, even though it’s not mine] [And the tempura here is out of this world] [Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, it’s the best tempura I’ve ever had!] [Because of this tempura, I’m definitely coming back] [The prices are great too! Stumbled upon this place by chance, and what a pleasant find] [I often dropped by the food court at Takashimaya Department Store near my accommodation] [Got this Financier from there too!] [Fell in love at first bite. I had to buy it again] [Financier specialty shop, Bean to Financier] [I had no idea it would be this delicious. What a revelation] [Now I really want to try making Financier myself] [Not sure if it’ll turn out well…] [I might just come back to Japan for some more delicious financier] [Near Namba Station, there’s a place called “Fukutaro” that specializes in Okonomiyaki] [I’ve been eyeing that long line next to my place every day. Today, I’m taking the plunge!] [Starting off with some Yakisoba] [The seasoning is spot on, and it’s delicious] [Even the kids are gobbling it up] [A popular item here, the Negiyaki] [Here come the Negiyaki and Okonomiyaki!] [Negiyaki feels like a Korean pancake] [The taste is similar, which makes it even more enjoyable] [The Okonomiyaki has a strong flour taste] [I still think Okonomiyaki made with yam is the best] [Here we are in Ashiya, a wealthy area in Osaka, for a bakery tour] [First stop, Patisserie Plein] [Got there around noon, and the cakes were all sold out] [Picked up a few things to make the best of it] [Ate a soufflé cake outside and then moved on quickly] [Second stop, Pan Time! This time, I bought a lot] [Katsu sandwich, red bean and butter bread, chestnut spread and butter bread, melon bread and sausage bread for the kids] [Heading to a coffee shop across the street where we can eat the bread] [Took a bite of the Katsu sandwich! Hmm, it’s just ‘pretty good’] [Took a bite of the Katsu sandwich! Hmm, it’s just ‘pretty good’] [Opening the cake I couldn’t eat earlier! Starting with the peach cheesecake] [Oh, it’s a peach lover’s dream] [The strawberry mousse cake is as ordinary as it gets] [Too full to eat more, so I planned to take the bread back to the accommodation, but] [oops, I left it on the subway] [It’s not like I could’ve gone back for it] [Here we are at Kobe Mosaic, a place for sea views and shopping] [There’s a Jaga Bee store here] [Our family’s favorite snack, Jaga Bee] [Of course, got some fries. No need to say more] [Just, absolutely delicious] [With the beautiful Starbucks in Sakai as the backdrop] [I’m wrapping up today’s food pilgrimage in Osaka here] [I’ll be back with stories of delicious home-cooked meals] [See you again]
