2K and Gearbox Software have released a new video ahead of Borderlands 4’s launch next month where Randy Pitchford discusses how Japanese games inspired Borderlands 4.

The 10-minute long video was originally from 2K Japan, and Gearbox has uploaded it on its own channel today. In it, Randy Pitchford discusses how he first played Donkey Kong, discovered Japanese magic, and much more. He also discusses Borderlands 4’s theme of freedom vs order.
Borderlands 4 launches on September 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). It will release on October 3 for Nintendo Switch 2. Details for the game editions across all platforms here.
