JAPAN ROAD TRIP 🇯🇵 (part 1) WAKAYAMA
Hey everybody, welcome back to my channel. In this video, we are kicking off the epic road trip across Japan. Me and my two friends picked up this lovely vehicle in Osaka and we drove it to Wakyama about 1 hour away. Our first stop was the Awashima Shrine, which is devoted to childbirth and fertility. There is about 20,000 dolls and statues at this shrine. Every year on March 3rd, there’s a ritual and festival that takes place here called Nagashi. And we happen to visit on March 3rd. Unfortunately, they haven’t actually celebrated this since before CO 19. Hopefully, when they start again, I can come back to experience it. People bring dolls and put them onto a boat because this shrine is located very close to the ocean. The waves will rock the boat until all the dolls fall overboard and sink to the bottom of the ocean. It is believed that the dolls will take away the sicknesses and bad luck that afflict their former owners. [Music] [Music] What the heat up? [Applause] Hey, [Applause] hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Come fight. [Music] [Music] [Music] And here you can leave a heart-shaped charm to manifest love and romance into your life. And now it’s time for lunch in the cafe at the shrine. This was our appetizer. It wasn’t that bad. [Music] This was our meal set. We accidentally ordered these little white fish because our Japanese isn’t perfect. But hey, it wasn’t that bad. You ready to eat this big thing of fish? No. After that, we got back on the road and decided to pull over and step out of the car to admire the ocean. And of course, we couldn’t ignore the abandoned house behind us. We had to go take a closer look. [Music] It was extremely dusty and moldy, so I would not suggest doing this. But we are curious, dirty dingbats, so we just couldn’t help ourselves. On top of being extremely filthy, it was actually quite dangerous. There were some areas I was too afraid to walk through. But I did enjoy the view. We didn’t find anything cool in there like a human corpse or anything, but at least our curiosity was satisfied. And now we’re leaving Wakyama to head to Okyama. Sakura season came early this year, so we did pull over a few times to enjoy the beauty of it. And would it be a Japan trip without constantly going to the convenience store? [Music] Finding tattoo friendly onens all across Japan was really easy. If they don’t mention Tattoo Friendly in the Google reviews, just call the place and ask. And by the way, I’m only recording because we were the only people here and they closed the onsen after we entered, so I knew nobody else was going to show up. After that, we got back on the road and stopped at a random izakaya for dinner. [Music] Yep, you can smoke in most izakayas. [Music] After driving more and paying more tolls, we finally got to our lovely home for the night. It was very traditionally Japanese. They had these machines with hoses that shot out hot air underneath your blankets, which was pretty nice because in early March in Japan, it can be quite cold at night. Anyways, thanks so much for watching and if you like this video, stay tuned because we went to so many places on this road trip. So, I’ll be uploading a lot more videos in the near future.
