For those of you who love a discounted Singaporean experience, Scoot is introducing three new routes, as well as boosting its holiday-time capacity.
Let’s see what’s new.
The airline has announced the launch of new flight services to Chiang Rai in Thailand, and Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda) in Japan. These flights will commence progressively between December 2025 and March 2026.
Chiang Rai will see five flights a week from 1 January 2026. These will be operated with Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.
Okinawa will join the network, seeing three flights a week from 15th December. These flights will be operated with an Airbus A320.
Tokyo-Haneda will be a popular option, with the airline planning daily flights from 1st March 2026. These will use a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Lead-in fares have been launched, with fares starting from SGD128 to Chiang Rai, SGD190 to Okinawa, and SGD190 to Tokyo (Haneda), one-way, inclusive of taxes.
With the launch of services to Chiang Rai, Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda), Scoot will operate 111 weekly flights to Thailand and 45 weekly flights to Japan. With the new additions to its network, the airline will operate to 76 destinations (including Singapore) across 18 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.
More Frequencies for Holidays
Aside from the new destinations, Scoot will be increasing flight frequencies within its network to support anticipated demand for air travel during the upcoming holiday periods. These include:
Southeast Asia
Bangkok increased from 35 to 39 times weekly from August 2025
Ipoh will see increased services from 17 to 21 times weekly from November 2025
Chiang Mai will also see a progressive increase in frequencies to 14 times weekly by December 2025, up from seven times.
North Asia
Tokyo (Narita) via Taipei will progressively increase to 14 times weekly from October 2025, up from 12 times.
Sapporo (Hokkaido) via Taipei will also increase from four to seven times weekly from December 2025.
Taipei will gradually increase from 23 to 25 times from October 2025 and from 25 to 28 times from December 2025.
Jeju will see an increase from five to seven times weekly from January 2026.
Europe
Vienna will see an increase from three to four times weekly from March 2026.
In Quotes
Mr Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer of Scoot, said:
“We are thrilled to expand Scoot’s network in Asia with new routes to Chiang Rai, Okinawa and Tokyo (Haneda), offering our customers even more travel options. In addition, the upcoming increase in services to some cities will support stronger demand for air travel during the year-end and new year holiday periods. We will continue to look for opportunities to connect our customers to new travel experiences and memorable journeys with Scoot.”
New moves and more capacity
There are some big shifts with Scoot, as it adds capacity and routes post-Jetstar Asia’s withdrawal from the market. In these deployments, it’s working from its smallest to largest aircraft, adding capacity and routes to support expansion – especially with a direct service to Tokyo, whilst boosting capacity through Taipei as well as several other destinations in its network.
Even Vienna gets a service uplift too – which is good to see, given that AirAsia X is sniffing around the region.
Some more choices are welcome, as well as the additional frequencies in the holiday periods. For those who are travelling, it’s more of a chance of a seat on a flight that they want, as opposed to ones they’d rather stay in bed for….
