Inside Travel Group is launching festive small group tours to Japan for December 2025 and January 2026 under its InsideJapan brand.
The new tour is a 10-night ‘Must-see Japan’ itinerary that includes Kyoto, Hiroshima and Miyajima, Osaka, and an optional day trip Kamakura.
There are three departure dates available throughout December and early January, with each offering a modified itinerary. For example, the 17 December departure includes Christmas Day in Tokyo. The tour starting on 27 December will be in Kyoto on New Year’s Eve, while the 7 January tour enables visitors to experience the first shrine temple visit of the new year.
InsideJapan Group Tour Programme Manager Richard Farmer said: “The temples, mountains and bamboo forests that amaze visitors through the warmer months take on a whole new look when the temperature drops and the snow falls.
“But it’s the New Year (Oshōgatsu) that really defines the season. On New Years, temple bells ring 108 times and shrines fill with locals offering their first prayers of the year, creating a peaceful and deeply cultural atmosphere – we will be in chiming distance of some of Kyoto’s most important temples.”
Inside Travel said sales of tours to Japan increased by 54% year-on-year for the first half of 2025. InsideJapan recently launched its Winter in Japan campaign, which highlights reasons to travel to Japan in the winter.
Travellers under 18 get a 10% discount off the new tours.
