There’s an axiom that jewellery houses like to repeat about high jewellery, that most exclusive and rarefied style of creation, made for the 0.01 per cent: that yes, it’s spectacular, but it can also be worn “with a simple white T-shirt and a pair of jeans”. It’s a line I’ve heard so often it has lost all meaning.
