Niigata 8DK: Space to Dream, $109K #AkiyaHub #JapaneseHouse #VacationHome #InvestmentProperty #Japan

This is a Kinka oldstyle Japanese house in Nishkambara, Nigata. This is a two-story 8dk house with 271 square meters of living space and 988 m of land. Once you step inside, this house feels nothing like an abandoned home. It turns out it was fully renovated in March 2025, and the condition is amazing. The entire first floor is covered in beautiful tatami rooms, four of them, and they’re all filled with natural light. It feels open, warm, and honestly, way too nice for the price. There’s a clean vanity unit, a separate toilet, and even a urinal. In the back, you’ll find a bright dining area with a brand new modern kitchen. Right next to it is a western style room. Keep going, and there is even more. Another vanity and a brand new unit bath. But wait, we’re still not done. There’s another room tucked away and even a small concrete room to wrap up the first floor. Head upstairs and you’re greeted by a bedroom with a gorgeous view of rural Japan. There’s also a large room that could easily be divided into two if needed. And outside, it comes with a massive detached storage house, perfect for tools, bikes, or even a creative studio. The house is just 700 m from Minami Yoshida Station, walkable. But if you drive, there is parking for up to four cars. So, what’s the price? 13.8 million yen or about $94,000. Would you buy this fully renovated countryside house in Japan for under $100,000? Let me know in the comments.

  1. 襖や障子を取り払えば大広間になるので昔はこういうお金持ちの家は、自宅で大勢のお客を招いて結婚式をしたのよね。

  2. Yes! I love the space both inside and outside and the traditional style. I also spent a lot of time on Sado island when I first came to Japan, so I'm fond of the Niigata area.

  3. I’d love to buy this and transform into a retreat center for missionaries in Japan…so they can go there for weekend getaways.

  4. Niigata gets very cold in winter. Keeping such a large house warm would be quite expensive.

  5. well it is in niigata😢…
at least they have an airport…😂
wonder who and why did someone spend money to renovate it!
