Shin Nihonkai Ferry will launch the second new ship on the Otaru to Maizuru route.
Following the launch of “Keyaki” scheduled for December, this second vessel will replace existing ships. The ship is being constructed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Shimonoseki Shipyard and is expected to be launched in June 2026. The naming and launching ceremony will be held on October 6.
The ship will have a length of 199 meters, a gross tonnage of approximately 14,300 tons, and a passenger capacity of 286. It can also carry about 150 trucks and 30 passenger cars.
