Our Diamond Princess Experience | Ship Highlights from Japan’s Flowers Cruise
Ben (I am) Kenan. And I’m Elaine. We’re a Turkish American couple
and we love traveling. In this video, we’re going to take you
with us on our cruise. It was a ten day cruise out of Yokohama
and we went on the Diamond Princess. We stayed the night before
in the Intercontinental, which was great because we just walked to our boat. The check in process was really simple. As soon as we walked
in, we got directions to go put our bag tags on which we had printed
the night before at the hotel. You can just ask at the reception
and they’ll help you with that. And then
we went to collect our medallions. We didn’t have them sent to our home
because we were already traveling abroad. And then we went through security,
which was really straightforward. Everybody was so friendly
when we were getting on the ship, and it made us even more excited
for our trip. Straight to the casino. We went directly to our room as soon as we got on the ship
because we were really excited to see it. And it’s cool because the medallion
opens your door as you arrive. You don’t have to have a key. We got the mini suite
and we really, really, really loved it. They had wine for us in the room
when we arrived and it was so spacious. We also had a bidet in our bathroom
and a bathtub, which not all rooms have. And then they brought
our bags a little bit later. Our closet
was my favorite part of the room. We had tons and tons of space. Whenever we got dry cleaning done,
they would bring it to the room and we had a lot of room
underneath the bed for our suitcases. We had a storm the first night,
which means that we had to stay in port. We didn’t mind at all. We still had a great time. But when we did sell off the next day,
we were so excited to have our balcony. We spent a lot of time there. We had breakfast in the mornings. They brought it to our room. And we also had some little canapés
in the afternoon. Sometimes they would bring this
for tea time. It was our first time taking a cruise
together and we were so happy. In the evening time. There were lots of dining rooms
to choose from, and we tried to switch it up every evening, although most of the food
was actually the same in every one. But the waiters were different
and the ambiance was different. It was cool
because they had a normal menu, but they also had a vegan menu. So if you want, you can order from both. You don’t have to stick to one. And there were tons of food options.
We’ll show you some of them here. We had lots and lots of favorites. This was the coconut soup. I was obsessed. While we’re showing you
some of the other dishes, I do want to point out how much we loved
leaving the room, which is our medallion, and we didn’t have to worry about a wallet or even looking at prices on the menu
because you can order whatever you want. And this is really nice. It really makes it feel like vacation. We basically liked all of the food. They had escargot,
they had beef carpaccio, they had lobster tail
and the desserts were really varied. They had tons and tons of options for this
and they changed every day. It’s not really great
if you can’t have milk, but you can talk to your waiter
and get other alternatives like from the vegan menu. But my husband was really happy. They also had shows in the theater
every evening. We can’t take videos,
so we’re not showing it here, but there’s lots of variety. And now I’m going to do the very hard number On deck five. They had entertainment all of the time. We really loved this guy. He was very, very funny and talented. Yeah. Everything will be alright I am very protest on that. first one. Whoa! Hey! Ready? Three. Oh! Of course, I volunteered Kenan
when they asked for big, strong men. In the same area. They did a really cool
champagne tower on formal nights. They had the saké barrel
breaking on sail off and then they had a fun little party. Everybody got some saké
and then they had some dancing It was really cute because everybody
joined in in the dancing. On deck seven. There was always something going on
as well. In the evenings
they had cultural dance classes. They had Western dance classes. And then after the classes,
they would always have some live music so that you could
practice what you learned. They also had a silent disco,
which we had a good time with. We hadn’t done that before together
either. Every evening they would put a printed
itinerary in your room, and then if they had any special events going on,
they would give you a special invitation. If you were staying in certain suites,
or if you were a platinum or elite member, you got access to their cocktail
hour every day, which is kind of cool. We especially liked that
we could have little snacks before dinner because we were not eating dinner
at the same time every day. Depending on our activities. They also held the captain’s circle ball
in this room. There were art auctions
as well as wine tastings on board. There were also several beautiful
pools on board, and in the evening time
you could watch films outside. If you wanted to grab a late
night snack, you could get pizza, burgers and ice cream
in the evening until about 10 p.m. and then enjoy the evening in your room, on your balcony. Thank you for watching again. We’re Elaine and Kenan with passport

You had a Bidet? WOW. I usually bring my own.
Soo lovely 😍 thank you for this nice video.
I love the room layout.
We had a normal balcony room on the Majestic Princess last year and the open closet space was exactly the same, 100 % perfect.
And the medallion was amazing to order food and drinks to wherever we were.
That was our first cruise with princess and now we'll be on the Diamond in September,
I've already watched so many videos about the ship. I love the classic vibe of the interior combined with the hight tech of the medallion system.
I'm curious about the enrichment talks.
We had a retired NASA engineer and two Maori Ambassadors on the Majestic. Hope to learn more about Japan 😊
