A Very Soggy Day at Tokyo Disneyland

morning. It’s my last day in Japan. Uh, and I’ve decided to spend it at Disneyland because I’ve kind of exhausted everything I wanted to do in Tokyo and I can’t possibly shop because this is the state of my bag at the moment. It’s bursting at the seams. Some idiot decided it would be a good idea to buy a blanket at IKEA yesterday and try and stuff that in. So, yeah, nothing more is going in there. So, it’s actually time 8:35 now and the park opens at 9:00. So, I’m clearly not getting there on opening. I’ve already been to Universal and Disney C and they are absolutely chocker packed. So, I’m sort of sick of waiting in too many lines. So, I’ve decided that I’m just going to arrive maybe half an hour an hour after opening. Hopefully won’t have to line up too much. And it’s also raining today and supposed to be a karma day. Um we’re looking at the crowd calendar. So hopefully I won’t have to wait in too many lights. Fingers crossed. We’ll see. Okay, let’s go. [Music] Bright in was a nightmare. Turns out after 9:00 a.m. it’s still rush hour in Tokyo. So that wasn’t fun, but we made it. It’s also pissing down with rain. Uh so interesting to see how full the park is. Still quite a few people walking, but not freezing. Uh the park’s going to really be open tonight. [Music] like no one at security lines, which is a good sign. Little kids in their red jacket. So cute. Oh, it’s straight through security pretty much. So now we’re just going to the chicken. She also looks not too bad. [Music] straight through. But it is down. So I think we need to find somewhere dry to sit. Maybe have a cup or something. [Applause] [Music] Well, I briefly met Donald Duck, but it was pretty quick. Apparently, there’s some sort of event. I think it’s like supposed to be Donald Duck’s birthday or something. So, it’s all like Donald Duck theme. It’s great. For some reason, I really like Donald Duck. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] At least someone’s happy about the rain. I just realized I’m using a water resistant camera, but not a water resistant lens. So, I should probably find somewhere to change that. E, it’s starting to get a bit sticky when I try and close it. Oh, there’s more ducks. They’re all just praising Donald. So, I am using uh the Fuji 35 mm lens because it’s my only water resistant one. The only just this one. The only issue with it is that I it’s quite tight. So, I think if you’re coming to Disneyland, you can only take one lens. I would take something a bit wider than that. Um, luckily I’ve got this is the back. See, this one’s fine. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] You live decided to wait out the rain in Mickey’s Magic, which I quite liked when I saw it years ago. So, hopefully the rain’s gone by the time we get out. What are you doing? [Music] [Music] [Music] It’s still raining. where honey do the day. Uh it’s only like a 25minut wait which shows you how much time you can save when you come here when it’s raining. [Music] [Music] Don’t you [Music] I didn’t [Music] [Music] I [Music] Who’s Patty Hunter is pretty weird. It’s basically like you you go through like the woods and then who drops acid and you just have like this dream. It’s very strange. Um, still raining. [Music] Welcome. [Music] [Music] Okay. [Music] Beat it up. Oh my god. [Applause] [Music] Hi guys. This man’s rain just hasn’t let up. Uh seems to be down ever since I got here. So, I think it’s time to try and find some food. Craving a burger, but not sure where to go. There’s a book on the app. Turns out I was right by someone with burgers. Uh, tomorrow they have hamburgers. That one there, which is to the right side of the castle. Craving a burger. That’s where to go. And it looks like this is where the ducks hang out. I can’t get very close. They look very happy. It’s really busy and we outside, but I got a table and the LT cheeseburger, uh, Coke Zero, and some chips. Oh my god. [Music] I don’t know. [Music] Hey [Music] everybody. [Music] Serpents and spiders. Tail of a rat. Call in the spirits wherever they’re at. [Music] [Music] [Music] Hello. foreign. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Super [Music] heat. [Music] Heat up here. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] people. [Music] [Music] I got this shaved eyes just so I could sit inside for a minute. And uh they don’t let you you have to sit outside if you buy something like from the store outside which is ridiculous. But uh not Okay. [Music] [Music] Oh yeah. Oh yeah. [Music] Well, I’m done. Uh, not sure what time it is, but my feet are soaked, so I need to go and try and dry my shoes out before my flight tomorrow. And Yeah, I’ve just done all the rides that I wanted to do and I think I’ve kind of finally gotten too old for theme parks to be honest. Um, but you know, it’s a good final visit. This is a much calmer shopping experience. Uh, if you get annoyed by crowds, avoid the shops in the actual park and go to Bonvoyage on the way to the train station. It’s much quieter. I just realized I totally forgot to go on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, which is like the best one. Oh, I don’t think you can go back in now, so I’ve been on it so many times before, so it’s all right. Screw it. apparently can go back in. Uh, and it’s right by the entrance and it’s a 5minute wait. So, now as well, I like the idea of it being my last ride cuz I think that’s probably my favorite one. Yeah. I can’t remember if Tokyo is the one that actually redid it and made it like 10 times better, but we’ll find out. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] He’s not [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Dead man tell you. Ah, they do tell tales. So says I, David Jones. Dead man terror is now [Music] [Music] I wouldn’t get to see the Lord. Contact [Music] free. [Applause] [Music] Can’t reach any sting. Oh dear. Come on. Have a nice day. That’s a good word. Come on. [Music] really bad. And now I think is definitely the best ride. Can’t believe I missed that whole section, but I guess it’s quite tiny. I did think about getting some bottles, but uh the line was quite long. So, plus they had like a mango topping, which is a bit weird for bottles. Okay, it’s starting to get a bit busy. So, I suspect most people are starting to want to leave now. Going to make a run for it. [Music] Yeah, suddenly the entrance got so much busier. Way more people trying to leave. Oh, that means the train is going to be busy. [Music] Okay, bye. Round two. Bye for real. [Music]

For my last day in Japan, I decided to visit Tokyo Disneyland. It poured down all day, but at least it kept the crowds at bay.
