We Biked Around Lake Kawaguchiko and Saw Mount Fuji!
Amazing [Music] days guys. Look at this. Wow. This is our lake Kabigucho bike tour guys. We have our guide up ahead Shuni and got Mrs. Prosperity and Joy and yours truly. It’s only the two of us on this tour, so we got our own private bike tour, which is awesome. Did you know that Lake Kawaguchiko offers one of the most breathtaking cycling routes in Japan with stunning views of Mount Fuji? Many travelers overlook Lake Kawagucho for more popular destinations, missing out on its unique beauty and cycling opportunities. Wow, check out those views, man. Amazing. Located in the town of Fujiko Yamanashi Pure near Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchiko is approximately 830 to 833 m 2,733 ft above sea level. This contributes to cool summers and icy winters. It’s 15.2 m 50 ft deep, making it the second most shallow of the Fuji 5 lakes. I’m loving this, guys. This is amazing. It boasts the longest shoreline among the Fuji 5 lakes stretching about 19.08 km 11.86 mi. Like the other lakes, it was formed by volcanic eruptions from Mount Fuji and in 2013. The lake was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list as part of the Fujisan cultural site. Our tour guide was born and raised at the foot of Mount Fuji and provided detailed explanations of the history and background of each area to enhance our experience. High performance pedal assist ebikes were provided which were a lot of fun and easy to ride. Winter December to February offers the highest chance of clear crisp views of the snowcapped Mount Fuji due to stable weather conditions. Early mornings are particularly good for reflections. We did this ride in June, so didn’t get the best Fuji views. Mount Fuji is right right there. [Music] The area is well-developed with many lakeside hotels, hot springs, restaurants, and shops. Popular activities include sports fishing, hiking, yaching, cycling, and wind surfing. The area has a concentration of cultural facilities such as the Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum featuring automated musical instruments and European style gardens and the Ichuku Kubota Art Museum known for its kimono collection. [Music] We’re now heading to a Sen Shrine. Kawaguchi Asama Shrine is registered as a component asset of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Mount Fuji, object of faith and source of art. This highlights its historical and cultural significance in the worship of Mount Fuji. The shrine was founded in 865 AD. It was established to appease the volcanic activity of Mount Fuji, particularly after a major eruption in 864 and to pray for regional peace. [Music] The shrine grounds are home to seven ancient cedar trees, some over 1,200 years old. For prayer here, you religions will go last forever. These majestic trees contribute to the sacred and solemn atmosphere of the shrine. The cedar treelined path along the approach is particularly notable with many trees over 800 years old. [Music] We got some angry clouds in the distance, guys. So hopefully they’re going to pass by cuz there’s some blue sky behind us. [Music] What are we doing? [Music] Nothing. [Music] Hey [Music] [Music] Lavender is a beloved seasonal highlight around Lake Kawaguchiko with June to mid July the best time to see it. We stopped off at Awishi Park and Awishi Park Cafe which offers spectacular views of Mount Fuji with fields of purple lavender in the foreground. It’s often referred to as the flower road and features various seasonal flowers throughout the year. We enjoyed soft serve lavender ice cream and a bite to eat. Amazing. [Music] This bike tour takes 3 to 4 hours, was less than 150 British pounds or $200 total, and is highly recommended. Wow, check out that rainbow. Wow. That’s amazing. [Music] [Music] Wow, this is so beautiful. Beautiful. Wow, this is amazing. This is absolutely amazing. The water is so clear. [Music] Can’t believe we’re seeing this right now. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Thanks for sticking with us until the end. If you enjoyed the video, give it a like, subscribe, and remember to check out our other videos. [Music]
