Japan Marks 80th Anniversary of Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
People in Japan are marking a somber anniversary this week, the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. [Music] The bombs killed over 200,000 people in the two Japanese cities. World War II ended just days later. They remain the only use of nuclear weapons in wartime. The shock waves of the bombings continue to resonate among those who remember them. One 94 year old survivor laid a wreath at Hiroshima’s Memorial Park. He told reporters, “In 10 and 20 years, there will be no one left to pass on this sad and painful experience. That’s why I want to share as much as I can.” Bombing survivor Masako Wada told a gathering at the Nobel Peace Center in Norway. Nuclear weapons cannot coexist with human beings. Nuclear weapons were made by humans and used by humans. So it is also up to the humans to abolish them by our wisdom, public conscious and responsibility. Back in Japan, hundreds of paper lanterns bearing messages of peace were released into a river in Hiroshima. The memory of the atomic bombings is also being kept alive by generations too young to have witnessed them. One man in his 40s brought his daughter to the memorial. I don’t have any relatives who suffered from the atomic bombing, but we do come across people who have been affected in our everyday lives. I came here as I thought it was important to reflect on the event on this day. This is Inside Edition digital.

I love Japan. I hate war.
The ones who suffer the most are those indirectly involved. What a tragic event in history. And a catastrophic loss of life. Average citizens going about their day until their lives drastically changed forever. Life is so very fragile.
Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki War On 6 and 9 August 1945, the United States detonated two atomic bombs over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, respectively, during World War II. The aerial bombings killed between 150,000 and 246,000 people, most of whom were civilians, and remain the only uses of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict.
“We must not allow the hell of the atomic bombing to be recreated. I feel a sense of crisis.”Quote.”Michiko Kodama

Atomic bomb hell must never be repeated, "says Japan's last survivors

God bless the survivors and all they have endured.

So, without the nuclear bomb to stop, probably the fight still continues. Thus, humans needed to learn that greedy come with consequence.
Honestly, Japan shouldn’t even be allies with United States because of what they did, United States had to use a dirty weapon to win the war cause they knew they didn’t stand a chance
japan had a choice and they continuously made the wrong, now they know…
80 years, wow feels like it was just yesterday
This was a war crime
Horrible
THE JAPANESE WERE PROVOKE INTO THE PEARL HARBOR ATTACK, BY THE UNITED STATES, IN ORDER TO JUSTIFY & ENTER, WORLD WAR II, THAT AMERICANS

I'm Japanese and I feel very sad that the atomic bomb was actually used. Cormac McCarthy writes about the atomic bomb in his book, The Passenger. I highly recommend reading it.

Millions murdered for nothing japan not sorry tell Japanese the truth
It's crazy to me how recent all this stuff is. 100 years is not long if you truly think about it
"Now I become death the destroyer of worlds I suppose we all thought that one way or another"- Julius Robert Oppenheimer father of the atomic bomb
Although Japan has tried to atone for their sins, many Asian victims who lived through the war vividly remember the atrocities that led to the bombing.
most heavy war crime in history
They expect everyone to forget about their WW2 atrocities, unlike the Germans. We shouldn't feel any sympathy until they acknowledge what they did.
My grandmother lost her family in Hiroshima. She lost her first husband in WW2. She’s since passed and I was too young to care but now I wish I could have heard more about it from her.
"This is our cry, this is our prayer; peace in the world. 😢🙏✌️🌎🌍
Don't f with us
Pearl Harbor
Every time I find any resentful comment from Chinese people on such an occasion, my gut wrenching revives that I felt as I found evidence to prove that Japanese Army was vaccinating the locals along with their soldiers, which is a Vaccination Certificate for the holder.
Japan is a nice country I feel tragic for those people
This was ethnic cleansing and genocide against Japanese people. You can't target civilians in any wars.
I think the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are both made up stories. It never happened
i didn't realise it was 80 years ago though it was 50 still doesn't make any less brutal absolutely sinful
🙏🏽
Man the guy that dropped the bombs is probably a monster or either uninformed and still carry a guilt that will never go away
Don’t touch our boats.
One of the crewmen on the B-29 Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima remarked on the flight home “What have we done?” Regardless of what folks believe regarding nuclear weapons, they’re terrible things. The worst part? If you survive the initial nuclear blast, your body gets bombarded by radiation. Death by radiation poisoning is up there with cancer in terms of horrible ways to die (by the way, exposure to radiation increases the risk of certain cancers) Those who receive a fatal dose of radiation don’t die immediately. Instead, death is drawn out over the course of several days or weeks. During this time, the body will literally fall apart while you’re still alive. This is because the cells in your body are dying off at a rapid rate, and aren’t being replaced. Not only does this mean that injuries don’t really heal, it also means you’re an easy target for infections. This process can be rather painful too. One fella who was exposed to radiation after an accident at a nuclear plant was kept alive for approximately 83 days against his will. Poor guy had no DNA left in his body, and this was one reason why he slowly fell apart. At one point, doctors had to wrap him in bandages. The guy was eventually put into a medically induced coma, and on day 83, his heart finally gave out. As for Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombing survivors, their accounts are just as bad, if not worse. Look up these accounts if you want to, but only if you have a strong stomach.
USA USA USA USA
FaFo!!
"Now, it's my Problem."
Johhny America
Now it's time for the Japanese to apologize for Pearl Harbor 🇺🇲🫡

Japan started this with the attack at Pearl Harbor…bad move.
i hope this never happens again, i went to hiroshima two years ago, im half japanese and went to learn more about my heritage, very sad and went to the mesuem as well. please no more hiroshima and nagisaki. no more
The citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were victims of the Japanese military. Pray for the million Chinese murdered; the American service members beheaded. I call your attention to the Rape of Nanking. And consider what would have happened if the Japanense had developed the bomb first??????? And consider the tens of thousands of American GIs who would have died invading Japan. And consider that conservative estimates of Japanense casualities if we had to invade was in the millions.
PRIME MINISTER TOJO & MILITARISM ACTUALLY RESPONSIBLE NOT THE EMPEROR HIROHITO & EMPEROR HIROHITO ACTUALLY GAVE HIS LIFE TO SAVE JAPAN FROM BEING PUNISHMENT TO MCARTHUR EMPEROR HIROHITO WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR JAPAN ENTIRE WW2 & WE SHOULDN'T BLAME JAPANESE MONARCHISM DESCENDANTS TODAY FOR SOMETHING THEY DIDN'T DO A WAR CRIME IS NOT INHERITED
EMPEROR HIROHITO WAS NEVER A WAR CRIMINAL BUT A VETMIN OF BEING BULLED BY HIS OWN GOVERNMENTS AND HIS OWN GOVERNMENTS at the time DIDN'T late in speak his mind
BEFORE & DURING & AFTERMATH EVERYBODY A VETMIN AND SHOULDN'T PUNISHING & BLAMING NOBODY DESCENDANTS FOR WHAT THEY FAMILY DID IN THE PAST WAS CONSIDERED TO BE GOOD AT THE TIME
