Why Travelers Love This Tokyo Hotel! 🗼 Luxurious Breakfast & Perfect Location 🍱 | Gracery Tamachi
This time, I stayed at Hotel Gracery Tamachi, just a 4-minute walk from JR Tamachi Station. I had a hearty meat-filled dinner! The next day, I took a walk around Zojoji Temple, known for its view of Tokyo Tower! I arrived at the south ticket gate of JR Tamachi Station. Looking at the map, I noticed the area is lined with office buildings. Today’s hotel is about 500 meters from the station. On this channel, I mainly introduce Japanese hotels, as well as tourist spots and local food. If you’re interested, I’d really appreciate it if you subscribed! I’m walking through the East-West Free Passage. It has a roof, so it’s easy to walk even on rainy days. I spotted the Shinkansen and the Keihin-Tohoku Line! So cool! I can see the hotel now. The monorail tracks run right in front of it. The hotel is 11 stories tall. Street trees give the area a relaxed, pleasant vibe—even in the city. The hotel was built in 2008 and has 216 rooms. I’m continuing along this tree-lined path. This price is for a standard single room, including breakfast. Let’s head inside! Right after entering, there’s the front desk and a self-service cloakroom. I can also check in and out using this machine. The lobby feels elegant and calming. The amenity bar has hairbrushes, razors, shaving foam, and more. Only toothbrushes are provided in the room, so I grab anything else I need here. Here’s the breakfast buffet sign—I can’t wait to try the chef’s handmade dishes! Since it was Tanabata season, they decorated with wish strips. Is that the Milky Way? I love how creatively they’ve set it up. My room is on the fourth floor. Let’s head up. I’m on my way to room 409. I wonder what the room will look like—so excited! I tap my card key to unlock the door. It’s a standard room with a peaceful vibe. The room is 15 m²—compact but functional and comfortable. From the window, I can see the monorail tracks and Shinshiba Canal. The bed has a down comforter and extra legroom compared to a typical box bed. Let me show you the desk area! There’s a large mirror that doubles as a dresser. When closed, the mirror frees up space for working on my laptop. I found a LAN cable inside the drawer. Breakfast is served from 7 AM to 10 AM. Here’s the coffee set. On the shelf, there’s a kettle, tissues, and a notepad. There’s a mini-fridge under the desk. A trouser press is next to the desk. This is the humidifying air purifier—you add water when you need humidity. Oh! The monorail just passed by—so close! There’s a 32-inch LCD TV. You can borrow extra amenities through the in-room TV. Back at the desk, there are two power outlets and a LAN port. You can even book in-room aromatherapy or nail care. Sounds so relaxing—I might try that next time. There are two pillow options. Which one should I pick…? The bedside has a phone and light switches all in one spot. No need to get up just to turn off the lights. Here’s the AC control—I’ll leave it as is since it’s already on. There are four hangers in the closet. I double-checked the emergency exit route just in case. Now, let’s take a look at the bathroom. It’s a standard bathroom with a tub and toilet. They provide bath towels and face towels. An ionity hair dryer is always on standby. Tap water is safe to drink. The bathtub is a regular size but feels roomy enough. They use Pelican soap shampoo—nice! Alright, let’s explore the rest of the building. First stop: the water dispenser. It’s located near the elevator hall. In line with SDGs efforts, they’ve removed bottled water from rooms. Instead, there’s a water dispenser on every floor. Next, I’m heading to the guest-only lounge on the second floor. The lounge is open 24 hours a day for hotel guests. There’s a washing machine and an ice maker just outside the elevator. There aren’t many machines, so it might get crowded at times. Let’s step into the lounge. There’s also a water dispenser here. You’ll find tea bags and a microwave too. Alcoholic drinks are available from vending machines. There’s a coffee machine on the other side of the vending area. The lounge is spacious and feels just like a cozy living room. Oh? What’s this… It received a gold medal and a certificate of excellence—clearly highly rated by travelers. The greenery outside the window is really refreshing. This landscape even won the Tokyo Minato Ward Green City Award back in 2010. Seeing greenery like this really brings a sense of calm. Now, let’s take a walk around the area near the hotel. Here’s the Shinshiba Canal—visible from the room earlier. It’s one of Tokyo’s oldest canals, built between the late Meiji and mid-Taisho periods. With a waterfront promenade, gas lamps, and sculptures, this park opened in April 1989. The monorail just passed overhead! Oh? Is that a beer garden? Looks like a summer beer garden event at “msb Tamachi.” It’s only a one-minute walk from the deck directly connected to Tamachi Station’s Shibaura Exit. The glamorous vibe is so exciting! Wait, is that a bus? There’s something mysterious about it. The towers are connected on the first floor. There are plenty of restaurants here too. Let’s head inside! The spacious area is filled with all kinds of eateries. So many options—I can’t decide what to eat! Feeling like meat today, so I chose “NICK STOCK.” The menu is huge… It’s hard to choose! Lucky us—we got a cozy box seat. It has a casual yet stylish vibe. There are also semi-private rooms with curtains, so it’s great for group dinners too. Time to check out the drink menu. Lots of lemon-based drinks—this homemade lemonade looks good! Here’s the grand menu. I went with their signature dish—the NICK Plate! This one’s the homemade ginger lemonade. Super tangy and refreshing! Loved it. Here it is! The NICK Plate! It comes with eight kinds of items like roast beef, smoked salmon, prosciutto, homemade sausage, and smoked potato salad. This one’s the “Aged Pepper Steak & Frites.” Thick, juicy steak and homemade sauce—goes perfectly with wine, beer, or a highball. Now that I’m full, time to head back to the hotel. It’s a pretty big hotel, and the exterior looks great too. The entrance at night also has a nice vibe. Changing into pajamas now. It’s a one-piece style. Thanks for today. Good night. Good morning! No rain today! Wonder if the monorail’s running? Take this ticket with you to the breakfast area. This is the breakfast restaurant. The bright vermilion walls really wake you up. This cross-shaped design is so unique—it really stands out. The restaurant, Bon Salute Café, is also open to non-guests for ¥2,600. The name combines the Italian word “salute” (health) and the French “bon” (good). Breakfast here is all about “good food for the body”—and it’s homemade too! Alright, time to pick what to eat. This section is the Western-style menu. They’ve even got a tasting corner for original spreads—made by the head chef! These would go perfectly on the French toast too. Goya Chanpuru! That’s a rare sight at breakfast. The grilled mackerel looks amazing too. Here’s the salad bar—packed with fresh veggies from right here in Tokyo. Now for the desserts. “Kasutaro Pudding”? The name alone makes you wanna try it! It looks simple, but I bet it’s tasty… Here’s a coconut curry made with lots of spices. Today’s greens are komatsuna—locally grown in Tokyo! Every dish has such care put into it. They even had pork rillettes! This one’s a homemade spread too. Lots of rare types here—it’s hard not to try them all. These are the dressings for the salad bar. So many choices… tough to pick just one! Found something called Epice Water—spiced water! Wonder what it tastes like? They’ve got soft drinks too. And of course, a coffee machine. Back to my seat now. I mainly went with Japanese dishes today. The coconut curry has big chunks in it—can’t wait to dig in! For dessert, I picked the Kasuard Pudding. Everything looked colorful and was made with such care. So good! Let’s eat—bon appétit! A top-notch breakfast, packed with thoughtful touches. And some dishes had pretty unique flavors too… (lol) Check-out is done at the self-service front desk. Beautiful inside and out, and great value for money. Super satisfying stay! Alright, let’s go for a little walk. Right now, I’m standing in front of Sangedatsumon Gate at Zojoji Temple, just off Hibiya Street. Let’s walk along this unique-looking wall. This is the former Hojomon Gate of Zojoji Temple. It’s also known as the Black Gate because it was once entirely black. Though it doesn’t really look black anymore… Let’s step into the temple grounds. And soon enough—there’s Tokyo Tower! Here’s the main hall. Some of you may have seen it on TV or in photos. Zojoji Temple is the Tokugawa family’s temple—six shoguns are buried here. It dates back to the Muromachi period, but most of the original buildings were destroyed during WWII air raids. The current main hall was rebuilt in 1974. It’s surrounded by tall buildings, so it really feels like an oasis in the city. The main hall is open to all visitors. You can even catch the daily sutra chanting inside. This is a statue of Amida Buddha. It once protected Edo Castle and is said to bring luck and ward off misfortune. The ceiling is really high. Since the structure is made of concrete, the chants resonate better than in wooden temples. Let’s head back outside for a bit. There’s even a bamboo grove here—hard to believe we’re in the middle of Tokyo. And… You can see Tokyo Tower from here too. The combo of the red tower and green bamboo makes it a great photo spot! To the right of the main hall is a row of Jizo statues called Sentaikoiku Jizo Bodhisattva. There are so many of them lined up. It’s a breathtaking sight—and somehow also really cute. These Jizo statues are placed to pray for the health and happiness of children and grandchildren. They wear red knit caps and aprons. And the little pinwheels spinning in the breeze are adorable too. The Jizo statues continue all along the path toward Tokyo Tower. It’s a walking route you won’t get tired of. Now we’ve arrived at the Tokugawa Shogun family graveyard. Here stand four Bodhisattva statues. From the right: Fugen Bodhisattva, Jizo Bodhisattva, Kokuzo Bodhisattva, and Manjusri Bodhisattva. They were originally placed facing the Nishimuki Kannon statue and watching over the road, but they were relocated here later on. Some say they were built by Ashikaga Shigeuji, others by Hojo Tokiyori, or even by locals who invited a monk. So many legends surround them—it’s that old. Thanks so much for watching until the end!

Beautiful ❤
Really unique breakfast Buffet! I guess the meal was delicious as it looks! So as the NICK Plate for dinner, the place was cool!
From an outsider, the temple looked different than others you film before, this one looks bigger than the others. Is it comparatively more famous than temples you film in previous months? Thanks.

Hello and thanks for another great video!! This hotel looked really modern and also practical, with a compact room with everything needed for a great rest!! And again the food looked absolutely marvelous, from all that meat looked delicious and the lemonade so refreshing – even across my screen – in the dinner to that plenty and amazing breakfast full of options to choose!! And another temple pops up, this one full of history and being another pond of quietness in the middle of the bustling city!! Love from Spain! 💚🇪🇦

Thanks to your comment, I learned about the tanabata festival. I had never heard of it before, so thank you for pointing that out.
I like the greenery and the canal outside of the hotel. Also, the beer garden would be quite nice, without rain ;-).

Similar to Singapore boutique hotel when I regularly visited in 2016
