Princess Cruises has unveiled its Japan schedule for 2027, with two two Japanese-built sister ships sailing from the Tokyo region for the entire season.
The 2,760-passenger Diamond Princess will be joined by Sapphire Princess to deliver the line’s “most expansive Japan season ever”, with 78 departures across 50 itineraries ranging from seven to 28 nights.
The voyages will visit 45 destinations across six countries, with 12 more late-night ports for passengers to experience evenings in Osaka, Hiroshima, Hakodate, Sakata and Halong Bay.
Highlights of the season include Cherry Blossom Voyages, Festival Cruises, Circle and Grand Japan Voyages, Okinawa & Taiwan Voyages and Japan Explorer Cruises.
There will be seven festivals in August which passengers can experience during late-night stays in port including: the Aomori Nebuta Festival, Hakodate Minato Festival, Akita Kanto Festival, Yamagata Hanagasa Festival, Kochi Yosakoi Dance Festival, Tokushima Awa Odori Dance Festival and Kumano Fireworks festival.
The March to December season opens for sale on August 20 and passengers booking by August 27 offered a £150 discount per cabin.
Princess Cruises president Gus Antorcha said: “This upcoming 2027 season is more than an expansion – it’s a homecoming.
“Our story in Japan has deepened over time and experience and in 2027, we return promising unforgettable experiences, including the renowned Cherry Blossoms, seven spectacular festivals and journeys that immerse you in the awe and wonder of this destination.”
