DXC has launched a new SAP practice in Japan to assist Japanese enterprises with business transformation and meeting requirements for process modernisation.
The new practice will be led by Takehiro Nagatsuka, an industry veteran, who assumes the role of SAP Practise Lead in Japan. Nagatsuka is tasked with overseeing the management and strategic direction of DXC’s SAP operations within the country.
His responsibilities include business development and sales, formulating go-to-market strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of SAP solutions to Japanese customers.
Focus on key industries
The practice will initially focus on sectors such as Manufacturing, Automotive, and Retail. These industries are seen as having particular demand for improved after-sales service performance, demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, and process efficiency to boost customer satisfaction and drive growth opportunities.
Japanese organisations in these sectors, as well as others across the country, are preparing for the 2027 deadline to transition to SAP S/4HANA. Many are reviewing the state of their legacy ERP systems and exploring ways to ensure business continuity and future growth amidst evolving technology and regulatory requirements.
To support this objective, DXC recently introduced DXC Complete with SAP and Microsoft, a solution designed to provide customers with an accelerated path to modernisation. This new offering aims to enable businesses to simplify their IT environments and modernise applications, leveraging global expertise.
Global expertise and local leadership
DXC has over 15,000 SAP professionals worldwide and more than 280 SAP customers across the Asia Pacific region. The company has been a SAP partner for over 35 years and has been recognised as an SAP Global Strategic Service Partner. DXC was also the recipient of the 2025 SAP Pinnacle Award in the “Partner Learning and Skills Growth” category.
“Expanding our SAP practice in a key growth market like Japan underscores our commitment to helping customers modernise with SAP,” said Keith Costello, Global Managing Director and SAP Lead, DXC Consulting and Engineering Services. “We’re excited to bring global innovations and deep SAP expertise to Japanese organisations, supporting their transformation, not just as a technology provider, but as a true business partner.”
Through the new practice, DXC will continue delivering SAP solutions tailored to the requirements of Japanese enterprises. By focusing on improved operational performance and return on SAP investment, the company aims to help customers unlock new capabilities through technology.
DXC’s strategy centres on providing a comprehensive set of services across the SAP lifecycle, including implementations, upgrades, and managed support. This is aligned to the needs of organisations undergoing complex transformation projects as they adapt to AI and cloud technologies.
Simplifying transitions to SAP S/4HANA
The 2027 deadline for SAP S/4HANA migration is a driving force for change among Japanese companies. DXC’s introduction of the DXC Complete with SAP and Microsoft solution is intended to support customers in this transition, helping to address technical and organisational challenges along the way.
Takehiro Nagatsuka’s appointment as SAP Practise Lead is seen as a move to strengthen local expertise and oversight while drawing on the company’s global resource base. Nagatsuka will work closely with both customers and cross-functional teams within DXC to ensure the delivery of solutions tailored to the Japanese business landscape.
By broadening its SAP business in Japan, DXC looks to provide enterprises with support for digital transformation, helping them remain competitive and compliant as business requirements evolve.
