Neita ran the final leg of the race and expressed her delight at the overall success of the Games.

She said: “I was just patiently waiting to see Dina and she came flying into me as she would.

“I just did my best to bring it home for the girls and honestly we’ve worked so hard as a team, this medal means a lot to us, we’ve been through so much.”

Meanwhile, Welwyn Garden City’s Jodie Williams finished sixth in the 400m final but remained optimistic about her performance.

She said: “Right now I’m upset, but I think in hindsight I’ll be very proud of myself.”

Williams reflected on the challenges faced during the Games, stating: “It’s been amazing, for us all to be here is so good.”
