UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN – Our First Visit to This Amazing Theme Park
Hey, everyone. I’m Mark from Travelshorts.
This is my daughter Holly. That’s my son, Matthew. Today’s the fourth day of our epic Japan
trip, and we’re going to be going around Universal Studios Japan. This is the hotel
we stayed at last night. It’s the park front in Universal Studios
on the Universal City Walk. It’s a really great location because
look at this view out of our room. It faces Universal
Universal Studios Japan. It’s just after 7:00 AM. Park’s not due to open until 9:00 AM. We can already see the queue
starting to form at the entrance. We’re going to head down there now,
get in line, and get ready to ride all the rides park has to offer. As you can probably tell,
I’ve got a bit of a sore throat today, so I can’t really talk properly, but I’ll
do my best for this video, I promise. Because we’re staying at the Park front Hotel, this is the exit from our hotel into the park. Right there. Even though the park doesn’t open
for another hour and a half, still plenty of people coming here. This first place here, I believe
This is for security checks before you enter the park. This is the line an hour
and a half before the park opens. This is why it’s highly recommended to get
here really early in the morning, especially if you
don’t have express passes. I’ll talk about Express
passes a little bit later on. If you’re wondering where I got our
tickets from for today, I got those from klook.com. The Klook.com website It’s a lot more
straightforward than the Universal Japan official website.
When you just went through klook.com, purchase them from there,
and then we scanned them into our Universal Studio Japan app. You need to scan them into the app
in order for you to get timed entry once you’re in the park. I’ll talk a little bit more about
time to entries once we’re in there. And even if you did buy these tickets
directly from Universal Japan, you still have to scan the QR codes into the app. So it’s exactly the same procedure. There’s no difference
in getting those from klook.com at all I also got our Express Passes
for today from klook.com and our Express Passes
for tomorrow for trip.com But I’ll tell you the reason
why I had to get them from trip.com in tomorrow’s video,
because we’re here for two days. If you are interested in purchasing
your tickets from klook.com. I’ll leave a link in the description
down below, and I’ll also put a QR code on the screen here. If you click through that and use
my referral code, TravelShortsKlook, you’ll get 5% off your first purchase with klook. It looks like they just started
to open the security gates. It’s now 7:40, so it’s still an hour
and 20 minutes before park opening. Woody Woodpecker over there we’re in the park. They open the main gates at 8:30. Took us about 10 minutes to get in. It’s now 8:40. First ride we’re going to,
it’s the Jaws ride. Hollywood Dream Coaster there. We have got an Express Pass
for that a little bit later. We’ll be coming back
here later in the day. Everybody here is running to get
to the Super Nintendo world and maybe the Harry Potter land as well. It looks like we’re about
to go straight on to Jaws. It looks like we are going to be
the first people on Jaws this morning. Did you enjoy that, Holly?
Yeah. It was fun.
Do you get scared? Definitely not. You enjoy it, Matthew?
Yeah. That was the Jaws ride, something you
can no longer do in a lot of the parks. That used to be one of my
favourite rides in Florida. Unfortunately, it’s not there anymore. That’s why I made a beeline
to go on it first here. What we’re going to do now is go
to the Jurassic Park area and go on the Flying Dinosaur, which is
the looping coaster in the park. There’s our next ride,
the Flying Dinosaur. Ready to go on the flying dinosaur, Holly?
Yeah, are you ready, Matthew? Yeah. This is probably the most extreme ride
in the park, and we’re all really looking forward to it. Okay. As are you all right?
Thank you. We need to put everything in a locker. They give you a card. I guess you scan that QR code before
to put your things in the locker. Holly, what did you think of the ride?
Best thing ever. Best thing ever.
What about you? It was good.
It was good? That’s the best one so far.
Yeah, out of the two. Yeah.
That was us on the Flying Dinosaurs. That was a really, really good ride. Most of it was spent going upside down,
if I’m completely honest, wasn’t it? It was fun. I feel a little dizzy now because I’m
a bit old for doing rides like that. But it was really good.
Enjoyed that. It was just a walk on. We literally walked
straight onto the front row. It was just the three
of us on the front I know. In fact, it’s time to go now. I’ll show you what it’s like. Once it goes up there,
its got a really steep trot. Then it’s upside down
for the majority of the ride. Even going on to the ground area,
we were upside down, so we were riding really quickly upside
I felt a bit sick on the roof, but when I stripped down the floor again.
What, Holly? It spin around a lot. Yeah, it did spin around a lot. Now we’re going to head to the Minions
area and go on Minions Mayhem ride. Fifteen minute wait. We’ve just got off Minion Mayhem. Again, straight walk on. What we’re going to do now, we’re going
to walk around the park a little bit. We’ve looked at the wait times. We were going to go to the Harry Potter
area and go on flight to the Hippogriff because when we entered the ride,
just a few minutes ago, it was a 15-minute wait. Now, it’s a 50-minute wait. But let’s keep walking, shall we? Tiny. So We’ve still got a few rides
on our Express Passes to use. I don’t want to use the Express passes
just yet, so we’re going to just do a little bit of a walk around. We might go in for a show. I’m actually going to get a timed entry
for Super Nintendo World as well for between 10:30 and 11:30. I’m thinking we will try and get our lunch
in Canopio’s cafe there, but it all depends on the lines once
we get into Super Nintendo land. This area here is pretty bare,
if I’m being honest. I think that’s where Spider-Man used
to be, but it’s down and there’s a new ride coming there at some point. Not sure what it’s going to be, though. I don’t think anybody does. This bit here does look
very like the Florida one. You’ve got the old Twister right there. It used to be the old Ghostbusters one
originally in Florida there, but we’re going to walk around this. Well, actually, shall we see when
the Conan 4D Live show is about to start? We’re going to see when Conan
4D Live show is about to begin. We have a fast pass or an Express pass, I
should say, for a space fantasy The Ride. There’s no point going
on it this early in the day. We’re going to come
back later to go on it. I don’t like coming to theame parks
and watching shows you like riding rides?
Yes. So behind me is Mel’s Drive-in,
the staple of every single Universal Studios around the world,
based on the drive-in in the George Lucas film, American Graffiti. We’ve eaten at the one last year
when we went to Universal Beijing. When we’re in Universal Studios, Florida,
I always go in there as well to have my lunch or dinner. Today, we’re probably not
going to go in there, though. We’re trying to aim to go and get food
from Cannopio’s Cafe in Super Nintendo land. So we’re going to head towards
the Wizarding World of Harry Potter now. And I love how you go through this wooded
area to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It really sets the area apart
from the other areas around it. In Florida, obviously,
that’s where Hagrids is. Not here in Japan, though. So Olivanders is a 25 minute wait. You can come down to this spot here
and get some good photos. It’s actually got a
proper black lake as well. They must put some dye in this
water to make it the Black Lake. You can just see the Black Lake,
how it reflects Hogwarts. Look at that. It’s an amazing reflection because
it’s such a still day today. So even though we’ve got an Express Pass
for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey for later this afternoon,. The wait time is only 15 minutes. So we thought we’d get on it now,
then we get to ride it twice today.. That was Harry Potter
and the Forbidden Journey. It’s exactly the same ride,
I think, as the other parks. Our timed entry to Super Nintendo land has
now opened up, so we’re going to walk over there now.
Why is it a horse? it’s a buck Beak. It’s possible.
It’s possible. Okay. Here we go.
Here we go. Okay.
Here we go. Perfect.
Thank You. You do need to scan this
to make a restaurant booking. Okay, so it looks like there’s
no more available time slots today unfortunately So I don’t think we’re going to be able to get our lunch in the
Super Nintendo land area. So we’re going to go back over to Amity
and to the Jaws restaurant and have some shark bites and see where else is there. So we are going to be riding every
ride in Super Nintendo land tomorrow. We’ve got Express passes
for all three rides here. You can’t do them at the today
because you’ve seen the lines. It’s crazy. So even if we wanted to go
on Donkey Kong Country, there’s a minecart right here,
which is obviously I think the best ride here,
that’s a 160 minutes wait, so almost three hours for one ride. So tomorrow we should be able to just
walk on it with an Express pass. Holly got to meet Toad then. I think he’s called Canopio here. We’re going to leave this area
Let’s go and get our lunch. Could you see how busy the whole area is? It’s absolutely rampacked with people,
especially by here. Everybody wants to get
a photo, including us. We’ve been here getting
photos of ourselves. But now it’s time to get some food.. That was a very, very, very busy area. Worked up an appetite just
going through the crowds. If you are interested in all the rides
in Super Nintendo land, tomorrow, like I said, we’ve got Express passes. I’ll film on ride on all
the three major rides in there. So the Super Mario Kart,
the Yoshie’s Adventure, and also the Donkey Kong Man Kart ride. So stay tuned. The next episode of this one,
which will be coming out in a week, probably, or if you’re watching this
anytime in the next episode in this series, which will be our
Epic Japan Trip Day 5, will feature all the rides in Super Nintendo land. We’ve got shark meat nuggets and fries. We just
came here basically to try what the shark nuggets are like,
and the cream soda rolls. This isn’t our main lunch. This is purely just a snack and a drink. We might go to Mel’s drive-in. You want pizza?
Okay. What do they like?
Just like fish fingers. Similar.
What’s your melon soda like, Holly? Melon.
Nice. A bit different. I’m just going to try
one of the shark nuggets. It comes with some tartar sauce. Well, I think it’s tartar sauce. It tastes like it but more onion. It’s not quite tartar sauce. It’s got a funny consistency. It’s not like a fish finger or a fish
stick as our American friends say. It’s a lot thicker,
consistency, a lot dense. Let’s try the cream soda roll. Looks like it’s got,
I don’t know, a gummy fin. I guess. Yeah, just like a standard gummy sweet.
Now, let’s try. Try and get it all in there. That’s what it’s looking like. You should put the gummy
and put a bit on it. That’s really nice. It’s a bit like a Swiss roll. Obviously, it’s blue in colour,
but it has got a cream soda taste to it. Well, obviously,
it has got his cream soda. I think Holly is going to try it as well. Do you want to try it?
Okay. I like what’s the name? What do you think?. I like the cake, not the cream. It has a weird texture.
It’s not too bad. We’ve had our snack, not our lunch, our snack from Amity
restaurant here in Jaws. We’re now looking for our main lunch,
tuna mayonnaise pizza. I don’t think you’d like tuna mayonnaise
pizza or Danish teriyaki chicken. So me and Matthew are just going to get
a classic cheeseburger meal from here in Mel’s Drive-in. Holly doesn’t like burgers,
so she is going to get an Italian pizza in just a minute when we finish here. So this is fries and a
classic cheeseburger. Me and Matthew have finished Mel’s Drive-in cheeseburgers. We’re now looking for somewhere
for Holly to have a pizza. We did pass the pizza restaurant
and a pasta restaurant, just after we left the Minions land earlier. So we’re walking that way now
so Holly can get her lunch. Do you want to go in We’ve just come to Lou’s Pizza. Holly has got herself
a Bolognese pizza and some fries. On this, it’s got a Bolognese sauce,
spicy balls and spicy sausage. Did you enjoy that pizza, Holly?
Yeah. You looked like you really liked it. I think you liked the meat balls.
Yeah. And the Bolognese sauce?
Yeah. It was Bolognese sauce? It was Bolognese sauce on it
instead of just tomato sauce? Yeah. I didn’t even notice. The Detective Conan 4D live
show is about to start. Now, I’m going to be honest with you,
I had no clue what was going on in that. I don’t know who the characters were,
didn’t know what they were saying, didn’t know the whole concept of the show. I’m going to assume Detective
Conan is this Little Kid. They were at, I don’t know,
some show where some magician guy with a top hat wanted to steal a diamond. That’s about it. It was in a 4D theatre. As soon as we walked into the pre-show,
it just reminded me of the old Terminator 2 3D show in Universal Studios, Florida. It’s exactly the same set up. You could just imagine the
Cyberdyne signs there. So you go in, there’s a balcony,
a lady does a speech telling you what’s about to happen. There’s some screens, some things happen. Then you go into the main
theatre after that. Exactly the same theatre
as the Terminator 2 3D. So I’m going to assume that
the 4D live show behind us where Detective Konan was, that used
to be a Terminator 2 3D show. Nowadays, it’s now Borne Ultimatum,
I think, the Borne show in Universal Studios in Orlando. But yeah, had not one
clue what was going on. It was all right. I only know the guy with the Top hat. Yeah, well, you know who that is?
Yeah, its Anime. Oh, is he? I saw him on TikTok.
I don’t know his name. It’s just I knew the guy with the top hat. That’s the one I thought was a magician. I don’t think so. I think that
whole thing was anime now we’re going to use our Express Pass to go on Space fantasy the Ride. What Holly? I was scared on it because it broke down. Yeah, but it didn’t break
down while we were on it. Yeah, well, you know. Why did you think it broke down?
I don’t know. We’ve just got off
Space Fantasy, the ride. The ride mechanism is exactly the same as
Spin Ball Wizzer in Alton Towers and Storm Chaser in Paultons Park,
two theme parks back in the UK. I actually really enjoyed that ride.
It’s indoors. It wasn’t really that rough,
either, was it? It had a nice scenery of flying
through space and planets and things. That one didn’t make me feel sick. It didn’t make Holly feel sick. Quite enjoyed that ride. It was actually a walk on. So even though we had Express passes
for this, we didn’t need them at all. We walked straight in and straight
on the ride, although it did have two really short pre-shows before we go in. And as Matthew said,
we just want to ride the ride. We don’t want to see this pre-show. We want to go straight
in and ride the ride. But it was good fun.
Really enjoyed it. What we’re going to do now is go
to Hollywood Dream, roller coaster at the front of the park. We’ve got Express passes for that. So we’ll head over there now. So we’re using our Express passes on this ride, we’re saving…
What was it? 45 minutes or 55 minutes. 45. We’re saving 45 minutes using our Express
pass on this ride, so we get to walk past all that. You okay Holly? What did you think of that one, Holly?
It’s good. Yeah, did you come out your seat? I probably did, so I would be like, What? It was fun.
Yeah. Did you come out the seat? Yes, a bit.
Yeah. So that was our ride on Hollywood Dream. There’s two versions of this one, one that
goes forward and one that goes backwards. That’s called Backdrop. We decided to go for the forward
version, for the normal version. Really great fun. Loads of air time as well,
just as we were going dropping every time. I was coming out my seat. I was a bit I’d agreed at one point that I
was going to come out, which obviously you’re not going to come
out, but it really felt like that. Every time it went over like what? Top hat, I think it’s called,
goes down like that and up and down, I was leaving the seat. So that was amazing air time. I I think I preferred that one,
if I’m going to be completely honest, to the flying dinosaur as well. We’ve got some more
character interactions here. Is this Felix the Cat, maybe? We’re going to head over
to the Jurassic Park area again, where we were almost first thing this morning. This time we’re doing
a Jurassic Park ride. We’re going to check it out first to see
if the people getting off are wet. If they are, we do have some ponchos
in the pack, so we might put our ponchos on for the ride because it
is a water ride after all. Want your poncho, Holly?
Yeah. Yeah.
Do you want a poncho? Yeah. We survived the Jurassic Park ride. We didn’t get very wet at all,
if I’m being completely honest, but we were the second row from the back. I think the people in the front
got absolutely soaked. I didn’t get wet at all. Holly didn’t get just
a splash on her trousers. In fact, it makes it look like I’ve just
wet myself, but I havent, I promise you. What we’re going to do now,
we’re going to head over to Waterworld because the next show is at 3:00 and it’s now 2:45. If you’ve seen Waterworld in
Universal Studios Hollywood or even Universal Studios Beijing,
it’s exactly the same show. I really enjoy it. That’s why we’re here today, even though
I’ve seen it so many times before. If you want to see
the Beijing Universal Studio version, check my channel for the China playlist,
and you’ll be able to see it in there. I’ve got the full show
in the China playlist. That was the Waterworld show. Like I said, it’s the same
throughout the world. Although the first half of it
did seem to go a lot slower than the other shows we’ve seen
in California and in Beijing. But second half was exactly the same. Really action-pack, really exciting. Lots of jet skis, lots of high
falls, lots of explosions. Thouroughly recommending
Waterworld at any Universal Park. Best one we’ve seen today, obviously.
Best show. Yeah.
How do you think of Waterworld? Can’t understand what they were saying.
I know. Apart from not being able
to understand what they were saying. a lot of explosions. The plane was cool, I guess. Me and Matthew are going
to go for a Jaws splash. Hey, bring out It’s very dangerous.
Okay. Thank you.
Be careful! thank you.
We have gone for three Jaws splashes. These are 700 ¥ each, so 2,100 ¥. Not I don’t know exactly what it is. Holly said it’s some
boba balls at the bottom. No, it’s jelly.
Jelly? Yeah, I think it’s this
blue flavour, Holly. It’s good.
It’s Do you know what the shark’s called? Jeremy. Jaws.
No. What?
Bruce. How would I have guessed that?
Do you know why he’s called Bruce? Because he has bruse on him. No, because Bruce was the name of
Steven Spielberg’s lawyer. Steven Spielberg directed Jaws. So they named the shark after his lawyer. We were still thirsty after our Jaws
drink, so I went back and I got a super large melon soda.
See how big it is? That’s the size of it. It’s super large. Really thirsty. Holly wants to show you how big
it is compared with her head. There we go.
Super large melon soda. I’m not going to kid you, that melon soda
went in less than a minute. Not because there was lots and lots
of liquid in there and melon soda, just because everything else was just ice. So obviously the ice takes up the same
amount of space as the liquid. Do you want to see how
much ice was in there? I’m not sure. It felt like just a few mouthfuls. It hasn’t even quenched my first. This is how much ice was in there.
There, look at that. That is literally up into my fingertips. Not even half a finger. And then it’s into the ice. But all that is ice. Everything below that is
just almost solid ice. I’m going to say that much was pure
melon soda, and then it rests was ice. We’re now going to the Sesame Street area,
which is the children’s area of the theme park. Holly, do you want a Hello Kitty
frozen strawberry smoothie? Yeah.
Okay. This is Holly’s Hello Kitty
strawberries smoothie. Show me your T-shirt you’re
wearing today, Holly. Hello Kitty. We’ve just had a quick look around the Sesame Street area. Try not to film too much because
it is just filled with little kids. I feel a bit uncomfortable filming
little kids for obvious reasons. The Universal Studio’s
Monsters Rock Live show. I know I’ve got that wrong. It’s going to be starting
in about 15 minutes. We’re going over to the theatre now. I actually know this show from years ago,
back in Universal Studio, Orlando, it used to be Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Review. From what I’ve seen online,
it’s exactly the same show, exactly the same characters, exactly the same songs. So Matthew and Holly haven’t seen
that show because it closed down before they first went. Oh, actually, Matthew’s first time
in Universal Studio, Florida, was 2012. So he probably has seen
Beatlejuice’s Graveyard review, but I doubt he remembers it. We’re going to head over there now and see
what the seating is going to be like. Hey, everyone. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice that was The Rock Show. Like I said, I call
that Beetlejuice’s Graveyard review. It’s exactly the same show as what used
to be in Florida, except for two things. One, it’s in Japanese, so Matthew
and Holly didn’t understand a thing. I understood what was going on purely
because I can remember the Florida show. I’ve seen it so many times. Count Dracula actually entered from the
ceiling on a rope and repelled down. That didn’t happen from memory
in the Florida one. Matthew did a valid point. He said, Who were those two
girls with the hair, Hip and Hop? I’ve been asking that question
to myself for the last 20 years. I’ve never understood why Hip
and Hop were in that show. If you do know why,
and if they’re characters outside of that show in the horror genre
somewhere, let me know down below in the comments because
that’s bugged me for years. I’ve always wondered,
What is the point of Hip and Hop? What I think we’re going to do now,
we’re going to go back over to Space Fantasy: The Ride and go on that. What are we going on now, Holly? Space…
What’s that? Fantasy. No its tower of terror. I want to go to a tower of terror We can.
when we go to Disney. Is there a Disney?
It is, yeah. Tokyo. Yeah. I was thinking about
Tower of Terror yesterday, actually. Holly, what did you think of the ride? It was good. I think we’ve done all
the rides we want to do today. It’s getting late. In fact, park is going to be closing
in an hour and 25 minutes. The park closes at 7:00 today, its now 5:35. We’re going to walk around,
we’re going to relax, and we’re going to go into some
of the shops, some of the stores here, just seeing what the merchandise is,
I think Matthew wants to buy himself a Harry Potter wand
to go with the Harry Potter wand he bought at Universal Beijing last year. Are you going to start a collection
of Harry Potter wands from every Universal park on Earth? Here we go. We are thinking about going
to California next year, aren’t we? That will mean that Matthew and Holly will
have completed every Disney park as well, because next week we’re going to be
in Tokyo, Disneyland, and they’re both and me really looking forward to that. While we’re walking over to
probably the Wizarding World of Harry Potter,
this might be a good chance to tell you that I’ve actually created a travel guide
to Japan called the Travelshorts Guide to Japan, obviously. It’s totally free. It’s full of all the tips, tricks,
places we’ve visited, hotels we’ve stayed at during our two weeks here in Japan. I’ll leave a link in the
description down below. Click on that, you can download it, or you
can scan the QR code on the screen here. Like I said, it’s totally free. I won’t even ask you
for your email address. And there’s an extensive
section on Universal Studios. Currently, I’m up to 12 pages of I’m
writing about Universal Studios. It’s all about how to get tickets,
all the hotels you can stay in, tips, tricks, how to get express passes,
and information about every land that’s here in Universal Studios Japan. If you’re into Japanese theme parks as
well, there’s also a huge section about Tokyo Disneyland. But I talk all about Tokyo Disneyland
in a few more episodes time when we’re going to be there. Like I said,
the link to the Travelshorts Guide to Japan, down there in the description somewhere,
or scan the QR code on the screen now. Again, totally free. Havent you got that? Not that exact one,
but I got one for those in China. I got one from Universal. We just got some ice cream from Baskin
Robbins, Minions-inspired Baskin Robbins. Or did you get Berry Berry ice cream?
Yeah. Matthew got cookies and cream
and chocolate, was it? Rocky Road.
Rocky Road. I went for, what was it? Popping Candy or something. Popping Candy and Love Potion. I always tried to get
unusual-flavioured ice creams. I paid a bit extra to get
it in a souvenir cup. I got it in Minions Cup,
and this was an extra 500, I think. For all these, it came to 1,900 ¥.. Now then, here the wand
chooses the Wizard.. Young Wizard, please step forward. I’m the one to keep them. Welcome to Olivanders i am the wand keeper, and
we have been expecting you. Yes. Well, you must be here
to find the perfect wand. Now, let’s take a closer
look at you, shall we? Yes.
Now, let’s us begin. Every olivander’s wand is made
of a specially selected wood, with a core, the powerful magical substance. This wand is made of sycamore. It’s 13 inches. It has a unicorn hair,
the wand that craves adventure. Let’s wake it up with a spell.
Yes? Let’s see if you can unlock these draws. Allo, Humuura. What do you know? It’s a new. Oh, interesting, but Nara, it’s a little different. Perhaps this one then. This is a wand made from yew. It has at its core, a dragon heart string. Yes, this wand is 13 and a quarter inches. It’s a bendy wand,
but it’s also very powerful. It’s a little dark in here,
don’t you think? Let’s see if you can
brighten the place up a bit? Some.
There we go. Don’t worry. Me too, my tix.
I can. I’m sorry. No, no. I am surprised. No, no, no, not for you. I’ll put the lid back on this once. Well, I can tell you’re no ordinary
wizard, something about you. That is true.
Yes, it is. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I have been saving this one. 14 inches. A wand of heroes, I dare say. It’s perfect. Oh, yes.
Not surprised. This wand chose you. My assistant will answer
any of your questions. Now I… I said goodbye. When the time comes, you may return. Your wands will be here waiting for you. Thank you so much
for choosing Olivanders. Please come back again. What have you got there, Matthew?
Wand. What type of wand? It was a limited edition exclusive to…
Japan Yes. Park is closing in 10 minutes.
What should we do? Shall we quickly look to see
if we get you a Snoopy, Holly? We’re going to go quickly to Sesame Street
and look at the Snoopy shop. Okay, can we go?
Yeah. Holly, you happy? Do you want to show the bag it’s in? There’s a very special bag. It’s Snoopy on one side
and Hello Kitty on the other. It’s just gone seven o’clock,
which means the park is now closing. I think we had a great day
here today, if I’m honest. Now we’re going to look for our
dinner in Universal City Walk. We’re going to head over there now
If the souvenir shops on the Hollywood Boulevard are still open,
I’m going to go in there and try and get myself a Universal Studio Japan pin to add
to my collection of theme park pins. Let’s see if we find
the one I got last year. I got. It’s on my bed, the one I got. I got the same box that I had,
but it was like, stand up on two feet. Look, two feet, three feet. Don’t I have one of these type of things? Yeah.
Like a circular thing. Now we’re going to look for something
to eat here in Universal City Walk. We’ve walked around
Universal City Walk. We’re looking for somewhere to eat. We’ve come back to Wolfgang Puck, which is
where Holly had her pizza last night. She really wanted another pizza. Yesterday, we just took it
back to the room for her. Today, we’re eating in the restaurant. We’re getting a pizza each. Me and Matthew are going for a pepperoni,
and Holly’s having a margarita again. They’ve just arrived. Well, Holly’s and Matthew just arrived. There’s Holly’s margarita,
and there’s Matthew’s New York pepperoni. It’s very hot. Holly’s almost finished,
and Matthew has finished. Well, that’s the end of an amazing
day here in Universal Studios, Japan. If you’ve made it to the end of this
video, thank you so much for watching. It’s really appreciated. If you’re new here, my my name’s Mark,
along with my daughter Holly, son Matthew. We make Travel and Theme Park

Starting the day nice and early we enter the park and go straight to the Jaws ride.
Then we enter the Jurassic Park area to go on the flying dinosaur roller coaster, the most extreme ride in the park.
We then head over to Minion Park the Minions Land area and go on Minions Mayhem ride.
We then walk around a little bit meeting Curious George along the way before entering the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Hogsmead to go on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride.
We use our timed entry to Super Nintendo World and although we don’t go on any rides (we have Express Passes for the next day) we still explore everything here.
We get a snack in Amity, a Jaws themed Shark Nuggets and Cream Soda Cake and then lunch at Mel’s Drive-In with some cheeseburgers. Holly gets a Pizza from Lou’s Pizza.
We continue to enjoy the rest of the day seeing Conan 4D, Beetlejuice and riding the remaining rides.
We had a great Time at Universal Studios Japan.
Universal Studios Japan (ユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパン) is a theme park located in Osaka, Japan. Opened on March 31, 2001, it is one of six Universal Studios theme parks worldwide and was the first to open outside the United States. The park is similar in layout to Universal Studios Florida and contains selected attractions from both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, in addition to a small number of unique attractions.
Over 11 million guests visited the park in its opening year, making it the fastest theme park to reach the 10 million guest milestone at the time. In 2023, USJ hosted 16 million visitors, making it the third-most visited theme park in the world behind Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, and the most visited theme park in Asia.
Super Nintendo World is based on several Nintendo franchises, focusing on Super Mario and its Yoshi spin-off series. An expansion themed to the Donkey Kong Country spin-off series opened on December 11, 2024, and was divided into Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country.

Really looking forward to this one
Hello~
Thanks for the roller coaster POV!
The Space Fantasy ride was my favorite.
Super
I'm looking forward to your Disneyland vlogs too, both in Tokyo and California if you decide to do that trip. I've been meaning to go to Disneyland in California myself, might have the chance in 2028 if plans to visit during the Olympics in LA don't fall through!
Welcome to Japan! Why is the explanatory caption in Korean? If you translate it, please translate it in Japanese.
So fun! Would love to know what month you went as the crowds don’t look too crazy!
Fantastic! So different to our experience which (only time we could make it work) was just before NYE a few years ago – school holidays there and absolutely PACKED. We had to get the Express Pass 7s or we’d have gone on no rides at all (minimum 2 hour wait on all) so consequently our 1 day there was more expensive than our 4 Disney days 😱 Worth it though! Even worth getting up at 2am Sydney time to battle it out on Klook when the USJ site was totally unworkable for Aussie credit cards!
Holly made me laugh when you asked her after Jaws if she was frightened and she deadpanned “Definitely NOT” 😂 And so much like my girls, with pizza for lunch and dinner at every opportunity – they have Margarita-pizza’d their way around the world from Fiji to Borneo to Vietnam and beyond lol
Can’t wait for the next one! Did Matthew try out his wand on any of the special trick areas? We were mostly hopeless with them!
I count myself lucky to have been on the original jaws ride when I was 10.
