I recently moved in with a friend, and he says this car has been sitting there as it is now for the past 17+ years. I know it’s a civic, but I’m not sure what year. I would like to attempt to fix it up, but I have no idea if it would be worth it. Any input would be awesome!

EG civic, 92-95. Most likely too far gone if you are young. Any car that sits in tall grass for long periods of time have really really bad rust.
it most likely has structural rust. even if it hasn’t, then you’d still be looking at over 10k in a very basic DIY restoration. find a better base.
93-95 civic. They’re not worth a whole lot unless theyre clean/manual/not sedan bodystyle.
Probably some of the easiest cars to work on. Lots of information.
This car is an EX which is the higher trim with all the options. Vtec engine & shorter gearing. Although its a little heavier due to all of the options (AC, power everything).
If you can get it running/started, and its not completely rotted (I doubt it is), and the interior is not completely reached, go for it. Can find a bumper from the junkyard. Spray paint the fender white. OEM sideskirt from the wrecking yard. Front bumper too if its some weird ass aftermarket one (probably is). Or check facebook marketplace ads/part outs.
