The US Air Force’s 18th Wing stationed in Okinawa, southwestern Japan, says an F-15E fighter jet landed at Kadena Air Base on the island with one of its wheels missing.

Footage taken from an NHK camera at around 6:40 p.m. on Monday shows sparks and white smoke coming from a fighter jet that landed at the base.

The 18th Wing says two people were on board the fighter jet, but no one was injured.

In April, an F-15E fighter jet that was temporarily deployed to Kadena experienced a tire detachment before takeoff.
