The Ultimate Osaka Travel Guide: Street Food, Castles & Crazy Adventures!

heat heat n [Music] morning everyone welcome to another video this is our 72 hours in Osaka video so we’re really excited to be here we’ve had a bit of a casual morning where we’ve gotten up had breakfast we’ve got a separate video which is all about the hotel that we stayed in which is the Double Tree Bio Osaka Castle and when it says Biosaka Castle it means Biosaka Castle doesn’t it it is literally around the corner and you can see it from the hotel exactly so we’re just uh waiting to go up to the castle now we have booked a ticket for that um we just booked it directly through Cluke and that was £6 per person so really reasonably priced um and we’re going to go and have a little explore there got loads of fun things planned for Osaka as well don’t we do you want to say a couple of things yeah so today we’re going to go to the Omea Sky Building which is supposed to be really cool we’ve also got a Onson that we’re going to today and then over the next couple of days we’ve got the Pokémon Cafe we’re going to go to You’re excited for that aren’t you yeah but there’s loads of things we’ve got planned so yeah we won’t go over everything today but I what’s what will be really fun is we have booked uh Seleninoir um Onson which is a bit of like an Onson complex it’s quite big I think and that’ll be nice and relaxing we’ve also got a S aquarium don’t we yes we do there’s loads of like top attractions that we’re going to be doing so make sure to follow along it’s going to be really good fun and the castle already looks stunning so it does doesn’t it can’t wait to show you we’ll give you a breakdown of all the prices that we’ve paid for everything how much time we spend at each place and maybe some fun facts about each place as well if we can find them and remember them and pronounce them but we’ll see uh so don’t forget to like the video comment down below and subscribe to the channel and we’ll take you around Oaka Castle now [Music] so we’ve got the Osaka e- pass booked now again we bought this directly through Cluke um and it gives you access to loads of attractions all over Japan not all over Japan all over um there is also the ifa amazing pass which is very comparable and we booked the bless you out of nowhere we booked the e- pass because the amazing pass wasn’t available for us um I think that they change it over in terms of valid validity uh dates so for the uh e- pass we get uh the Osaka Joe uh Goaboon uh boat experience which if you just turn around here you can actually see it so what you have to do is you have to take your e- pass and exchange it for your tickets so we’ve got that now at uh 10:50 um and it will take us all around the moat of the castle which will be really cute which Yeah um and I quite like to be fair that you get a designated time cuz it means that there’s never going to be like a mad rush is there so we’ve got like 40 minutes to go and just like have a mooch around have a look around the castle which is nice um the e- pass cost us Well there’s a turtle down there oh yeah sorry that was really random so the e- pass for two people cost us £22 and that does include um like the Omega sky building um and loads of other attractions as well so we’ll tell you loads of attractions that you can do yeah I think there’s like 30 attractions that you can pick from you can do each of them once um so we’ll tell you what which ones are included with that e-pass attraction um and we’ll show you what we get up to so we made it to the top well nearly at the top you can see the castle just behind us do you like it yeah it’s really pretty yeah yeah it’s it is it’s really stunning and you can see all the gardens from up here we’re just up where the tourets are now as well so this was built in 1583 so really really really old and it’s one of the mo major landmarks and tourist attractions in all of Japan and apparently it played a major role in the unification of Japan in the 16th century i don’t know what that role was um I’m not going to look into that much of the history of it but if you want to find out more you can obviously have a little look but it’s absolutely stunning also like I said one of the major attractions so a lot of tourists here yeah but it seems quite peaceful still yeah i mean we’ve gotten here it’s quart 10:00 in the morning at the moment so we got here about 10:00 and it’s not too busy is it to be fair opened at 9:00 um today but we were just wanting to have a little relax this morning yeah exactly um so yeah we’ve got about half an hour until we have to go down to get our little boat ride and we’ll take you along with us [Music] okay we’ve now made it to the top so there’s the castle and then you’ve got the ticket gate over here uh which is for the uh castle museum um so the big long queue is the queue to buy tickets um like I said we bought ours in advance through Cluke and it’s a QR code which is directly allows you entry into it now uh that was only6 each and that had just gone up in price it was £350 just before that per person so it might fluctuate buy your tickets in advance because then you get to bypass all of that queue and it save you a bit of time um and you just go in directly with that QR code like I said we just did it through Cluke got the tickets immediately and ours actually lasted for 30 days so you can do that a bit more in advance as well which is really good [Music] time for the boat ride um it’s really cute isn’t it it’s a little golden boat yeah it looks nice we’ve got a little um little route it’s a little route on which way we go and it says where you can take photo spots and stuff like that so yeah really cute don’t know i think it takes 20 minutes in total like I said definitely recommend this so not sure if you can see it i’ll try and zoom in on this um but just here I’ll try and point it out as well so just here there’s a humanfaced stone protecting the unlucky direction of the Osaka Castle not really sure what that means oh we’re turning around along the stone wall of the east side of the inner there is a stone shaped like a round coffee bean if you look carefully you might find that it resembles a face since the ado period people have called this stone the humanfaced stone ginseeki or believing it looks like the face of a frightening demon the demonface stone kicki the stone is located northeast of the inner bay which is superstitiously believed to be an unlucky position so it is thought that the stone was intentionally included in the wall to ward off evil spirits this can only be seen at Osaka Castle [Music] okay so we thought we’d try a new segment because we keep saying “Oh we got facts uh to tell you about this.” So the new segment is fun facts with Ollie and Kieran so we’ve just been on the what was it the Gazu Ban yeah the Goan boat and that was really cute actually so it lasted 20 minutes so here’s some of the facts that we learned about um Osaka Castle so the actual walls surrounding the castle they’re 34 m high which makes it the tallest wall in all of Japan there’s 60,000 stones making up that wall as well and on each of them you can see some little engravings um and there’s 2,000 engravings um and that’s of either the builder’s names or the lord’s names as well and the bridge the main bridge as you walk up to the castle um it translates to I can’t remember what the Japanese word was uh for it but it translates to the bridge to Nana because it used to be a Buddhist temple in the same place before the castle and then that was demolished and the castle replaced it and actually the main castle which you can just see there the main castle tower is actually 54.8 8 m high so there’s some fun facts with Ollie and Kieran so we’ve just climbed to the top which the 84 to see the observation deck we just did all the stairs that’s why I’m a little bit out of breath there was two lines one that took had an elevator which went up to 45 and then you walk the rest or you could just walk it all and there was a 20-minute queue for the lift so we were like well let’s just walk it how bad can it be feel the burn we just shredded it to Lizo stop it it’s really cool view up here and you can see our hotel just over there to the left double Tree by Hilton O so like I said when it says by the castle it really is yeah it’s really cool isn’t it Kieran really nice kieran’s really out of breath [Music] all done now at Osaka Castle we’ve been here for about two and a half hours actually which is probably the most time we’ve spent at like one attraction isn’t it since we’ve been in Japan um there were eight floors in Osaka Castle so I’m going to try and show you this if you stop here oh got a big map there’s lots and lots of things that you can look at some of the floors you can’t film on as well i think it was four and five some of the special just gearing off what are they called special exhibition exhibitions yeah you couldn’t film in but we just filmed the top and the view yeah but to be fair we didn’t really have time cuz we’re going to our next stop now aren’t we but I definitely recommend it and 100% get your ticket before you come on Clue oh yeah the quesy when we left now but overall it’s been really nice um the little boat ride was really cute it’s just really pretty and peaceful around here isn’t even though it’s busy the garden areas are really nice as well i think because it’s so big like it disperses the crowds quite a lot doesn’t it um yeah so definitely and like we spent two and a half hours here you could easily have spent a couple more hours couldn’t you oh yeah if you were really into reading all the museum exhibition stuff we’re now like I said going to our next stop so we are taking the Osaka loop line we’re walking to the station i’m not even going to try and pronounce it the station was about 15 to 20 minute walk away from the top of the castle um when you get down though that’s what going to be 10 minutes um and we go on the Osaka loop line and we are going towards Oh Osaka Station um and then we’ll go to the Umea Sky Building that’s our next stop so again we’ve got that included with our e- pass you get it included with the amazing pass but one thing to note with it is if you want to use it with it being included you have to go I think it’s before 3:00 p.m might be 400 p.m you can’t go in the evening if you go in the evening you get a discount on the ticket but it’s not the equivalent discount of how much it is in the daytime no so they do have some terms and conditions on all of the attractions depending on what it is yeah so you just have to check that out when you are obviously planning what you want to do yeah but when you book it through CL which shows you what attractions you get what the conditions are and everything [Music] like we are off the subway so we got off um it’s a little bit confusing on where you go to isn’t it yeah sometimes but as if you get out you can then figure it out usually yeah that’s what we’ve done cuz we’re still underground so we’re just like let’s go to the go to the surface surface world let’s merge um and then I’m sure that we’ll be able to find our way and we roughly know where we’re going now we’re probably like 10 minutes away now so not too far okay so here’s the um Omega sky building we’ve we think we found a little shortcut where it was telling us to go all the way around and we’re just cutting through instead it’s like a really nice park it smells really nice smells like freshly cut grass um and also there’s Timeout Market which is just here which is really cool we’re just arriving it looks really cool it does look really cool see up there looks really modern as well doesn’t it yeah so they’ve got the um escalators that go across the towers yeah so this was included in our e- pass as well i think tickets for this are about 1213 pounds by themselves so just by doing um the little boat at Osaka Castle and um this is paid for itself [Music] bargain heat heat [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we’ve made it to the Umeda Sky Building and we’ve come to the observation deck um it was really easy so we just had a little queue to wait for the elevators downstairs which brought you up to the 39th floor there’s either kiosks there where you can buy tickets or because we’ve reserved with the e pass on cloak we just went to the reception desk and they just exchanged that really quickly for us now we’re going to go up to this bit which is outside and looks like a really cool observation deck as well [Music] here is the view at the observation deck you can actually see planes coming in and out here which is really cool yeah the runways over there yeah it’s really nice and quiet yeah really nice and quiet and what you can do as well you can make a reservation to do love locks we’ve not done that i don’t know how much it costs um and I’m assuming that you just reserve that directly on New Maid Sky Buildings website yeah then they can engrave it for you as well by the looks of it yeah looks really cute there’s not much space left no there really isn’t maybe they’re going to have to extend up love is restricted we’ve reached capacity and then you got a really cool view of the river as well [Music] right they’ve got ga machines here and they’ve got these really cool pin ones so you can get any of these they got a chaser pin they’ve got a mystery one show you them here oh so that’s what they look like and yes they’ve got a secret one so Kieran’s going to give it a go 500 yen it’s only £3 for some fun let’s give it a go oh can’t even get the coin in right comes out at the bottom oh maybe the other way the arrow says this way okay well that was a fail i’ve been ripped [Music] off okay oh this one’s moving oh we got a green one oh anxiety is real oh it’s Here you go it is it’s not the chainset but it’s that one that’s quite cool oh it’s not Wait it’s not focusing there you go it’s a nice little souvenir it’s probably not worth500 yen but that’s only £3 for a pin that’s not that bad pin acquired so there is a little cafe here as well cafe Cafe Sky 40 you can get sundaes you can get a cuffle as well which is a hybrid between a cross and a waffle they do they do beers yeah and this is probably the busiest area of the entire um sky [Music] deck okay let’s review we made a sky building what did you think i thought it was really good it was nice cuz it was quiet as well when we were there yeah really quiet wasn’t it i definitely recommend going but there’s only two lifts yeah so if it gets busy you could be waiting quite a while we were lucky that there wasn’t much of a queue when we got there so we waited about 10 minutes to get up and 10 minutes to get down um but when we were leaving the queue was really big it was a lot longer so I imagine it’s probably like a half an hour wait easily easily half an hour wait for that and I don’t know how you judge when to go to do that so exactly i think it’s just we got a bit more lucky with it i think it’s either Well the way to judge it would be go first thing in the morning but I know it’s really popular to do it at sunset um but that will mean that you’re waiting a long time um it was really good enjoyed it there’s the little gift shop there’s a cafe like we said um the views are really good so definitely definitely come and do it and there’s lots around here as well yeah and because it’s included in the amazing pass and e- pass well worth it yeah definitely we’re now heading to the Osaka Ten Mangu Shrine which is about half an hour away um looks like a really cool shrine that to visit and it’s definitely on a lot of like top things to do in Osaka and Bust Duos so we’re going to head that now head there now we’re just on the way to the station it was a bit confusing when we left this station so we’re going back to the same one um [Music] We’ve just stopped to get a little snack um it’s cinnamon sugar they look like little doughnut holes they feel like quite cakey um so let’s give these a try cinnamon sugar there was a few different flavors you could just have plain as well oh I want to know what they taste a bit like you know lady fingers in the UK they taste a little bit like that here let me give you one to try [Music] with cinnamon sugar don’t they quite nice actually uh these were 600 yen so what’s that about £350 £360 and you get 16 so you get quite a lot m okay so we’ve just walked through Tenjin Bashy Shopping Street which we didn’t even realize we were going to do so that was really cool a lot of the shops weren’t open though so I don’t know if there’s a particular time that you need to come to uh to have a look at that and we’ve just made it to the Osaka Ten Mangu Shrine so this was founded in the 10th century and it’s one apparently one of the most important uh of the hundreds of shrines all across Japan it’s devoted to Tenjin which is the Shinto deity of scholarship so we’re going to go have a look at this i think it was built in 949 as well so very very old and it’s very quiet at the moment so yeah let’s go have a look [Music] we’ve left Ten Mangu Shrine and it was really cool wasn’t it cuz there was a bit of a performance on or something like that um like a ritual i don’t know what to call it i’m not sure there was a few different geisha dancing performance things but we weren’t expecting that were we yeah um so we’ve taken the metro uh over to uh what’s it called ben Teno um which was about 25 minutes about 25 minutes it’s not far because now we’re going to Sala onen so we booked our tickets again directly through Cluke we’re like Clue ambassadors aren’t we hey Clue if you’re out there sponsor us free stuff so we booked an open ticket which means you can just go in and use the facilities but we’ve also booked a private onen haven’t we yeah like a private room so it’s got its own like full onen and then it’s got like I don’t know facilities I guess like TV tea tea making facilities and everything like that um so we get 90 minutes in there yeah the open ticket was £10 per person the private onen for both of us uh private onen experience was about £65 so not too bad so about £85 for both of us so we thought that’d be quite nice so we can relax and then we can explore the the center as well can’t we the rest of it sort of whenever we want oh and if you want to know your speaker cards do work in Osaka we love this because you literally preload it as a travel card onto your phone and then go like this that’s it it’s done super easy okay Google Maps is wrong it says to leave the station at exit one but actually what you want to do is come out at st exit 2 A opposite and then follow it all the way down there were actually signs up so there must be people that get lost all the time cuz Google Maps says to exit at the wrong place um it’s quite a big experience area I think yeah it’s quite a big wellness center isn’t it so it’s not like a small really traditional T if it was super traditional I think we everyone would be getting naked and we’re not doing that no exactly don’t want to don’t fancy that um we’ll show you what we can obviously because it is just a full like spa experience there might not be too much that we can show you we’ll probably show you the private room we know that there’s like an outdoor section and then there’s like food sections as well so I’m sure it would be quite good and it would be nice to just relax for a couple of hours before we head off and go get something to eat i mean I think we’re just approaching it now it says “Yes Lynwood Beauty and Wellness right at the end of this corridor.” All checked in now we’ve got our private bath ticket we have to go and uh scan in for that as well check in for that and there is also a 150 yen per person hot spring tax as well um you have to come and get one of these outfits um as well as a towel um and something else and then go get changed as well so we’re going to get we’re going to get kitted up in a yucata we’re all dressed we’ll show you in a minute oh how cute oh this is bowl nice there’s a TV and everything it’s got a little garden here’s Ollie needs to get up i don’t know if we’ll be wearing it right and then the private bath bit oh there’s a haird dryer and sink face and hand soaps oh that’s nice that’s very warm oh this looks good it’s nice and peaceful i’m glad that we paid extra for the private room we’ll try and show you the garden a bit later there’s also arcades there’s loads of stuff here food bits joining you now from our private room mhm really nice isn’t it it’s been so peaceful it has this like room little noo slip oh the room is just really quiet isn’t it even there’s it’s like quite big well the the p the public area is just there yeah it’s just next to us isn’t it cuz there we’re on floor five and there’s um a group of private ones and there’s a public bit which has like a garden which we’ll we’ll try and show you but it depends obviously what people are doing down there we’ve got about 20 minutes left just under Yeah like 90 minutes um I’m glad that we got here a little bit early then actually because by the time we got changed and did all that don’t get here at your reservation time get here like 10 15 minutes before cuz you got to get changed get the get set up get the keys do all that um yeah cuz we were just going to rock up and I’m glad we didn’t cuz obviously that’s going to start eating into your 90 minutes and they actually give you a slip don’t they that says like your time starts at the time that it says that you made your booking so if you’re late it’s your own your own fault um yeah it’s been really nice we been in the like tub thing it’s really hot in there isn’t it it’s so relaxing my feet definitely needed that and relaxing for our aching muscles yeah we’ve done a million miles it’s been really good i would recommend it they’ve also got like a little cafe where you can get food and drinks from cuz I’ve got a cheek little cheeky half and they’ve got vending machines they’ve got stores where you can pick up all the bits and bobs and you pay for everything at the end so you get given like a little IC card but it’s on your original locker where you put your shoes yeah so you take your shoes off before you come in yeah you do this one and then you’ve got another locket inside with another key for your actual clothes exactly and then you basically pay so you just scan this it’s almost like a tapoo tapoo but it like basically adds a uh tab together for you if somebody doesn’t know what a tapoo tapoo is it’s in Volcano Bay in America yeah volcano Bay in America but not quite because that just links your payment card you just pay as you go so it’s good though then you just pay at the end but it’s been really nice so far very relaxing we definitely glad that we did it yeah and then we’ve got some fun plans coming up so we’ll try and show you a little bit around here and then we’ll go from there but cute little We just The reason why it might look different as well is cuz we’re filming on the phone oh yeah we put the camera away we didn’t want to bring the camera up did we we probably could have actually if we’re in here but we would have been fine but like people might just have looked at us a bit weirdly if we brought our like vlogging camera in might have been a bit weird but yeah so we’re going to relax for the rest of it and then have a little stroll and we’ll try and show you a few bits [Music] heat heat [Music] we’ve left Salimwa onen now and we’re just heading over to do to get some food um really good experience i would recommend it it was really pretty i mean it’s I don’t think it’s a super traditional one um but to be fair there was a lot of people going in and out weren’t there yeah it was good and the private one was definitely worth it um so I would definitely pay for that yeah and it’s only £10 per person to go in and use their facilities anyway so even if you just want to go in and like put your feet in the hot water yeah and just relax obviously they’ve got food they’ve got games and everything so it’s really good definitely recommend it we enjoyed it um they do have public baths and I think that um you’re not allowed to wear swimming trunks so if you want to go in the public ones obviously you will have to get naked you have to go in the nude which I’m sure some people won’t be bothered about the private one was nice cuz we had our own little like seating area and a TV exactly well you will have seen it won’t you really chill so yeah it was really good 100% check it out if you want to relax for a little bit yeah so like I said we’re heading to Doburi next we’re going back to the same station so Beno um and then it’s going to take us about 25 minutes I think yeah so we’re going to get to eat maybe check out a couple of shops and we’re just going to see see how it goes aren’t we yeah we’ve made it off the train on to do boring now and straight forward wasn’t it yeah really easy and it wasn’t too busy either really was it no considering it’s like 6:00 exactly we are now heading towards um a restaurant called uh Goa um it’s meant to be really good it’s vegetarian friendly so not just vegetarian um so that means there should be stuff for both of us there even though I’m happy to eat vegetarian or vegan but it’s nice for me to try like more authentic things isn’t it um we think we’re going the right way we don’t know how busy it’s going to be so this might be an epic fail like the other day like the other day um and I hope that we’re still going the right way it looks like we are we’re only a couple of minutes away so we’ll show you that when we get to it and what the menu is like and everything like that manchester is going to be busy because it’s right on the Dr war water exactly we’ll just have to wait and see but we’ve never actually been to the We’ve not been to this section yet have we so I’m looking forward to that um we’ll just have to see i’m feeling hungry as well so we can uh I don’t mind waiting like 20 minutes or something do you yeah but not like a crazy time no if it’s like like the last restaurant we went to when he was like 2 hours wait no but fingers crossed hopefully we’re good there’s no website for you to make a reservation so hopefully we’ve not just missed that we’ve arrived looks all cute we got seated right away which is really good so this is the menu we’ll show you that really quickly looks really good doesn’t it so nice you’ve got here pan fried gyozas obviously it’s a place that specializes in gyozas we should have said that you’ve got speedy side dishes we’re going to get some edamami beans I think as well chippies um and then some more traditional stuff there’s a vegetable ram and it’s all like labeled if it’s plant-based which is really good and then here’s the drinks as well i’m totally getting a beer and then you’re going to try this aren’t you yeah maybe which is saki with sour lemon and then Oh there’s some more wines cocktails at the bottom cocktails oh that’s good and then soft drinks and soft drinks right we’ll decide what we’re going to have and then we’ll show you it again won’t we yeah drink so what you have to do is you have to squeeze the lemon put it into the glass with the drink i’m going to get the lemon everywhere i think you squeezed it has this obsession with literally getting every last ounce of lemon juice out of the lemon and it goes and then there’s the mix it now yeah and then add the sour soda in and then you have to try it okay let’s get the spilled he spilled he has spilled it right oh that’s not a mix oh my god look at the state of this honestly that is me oh it’s nice it’s quite nice it’s really refreshing try it hold the line oh look oh it’s really refreshing oh it is sour though what do you think oh it’s quite refreshing oh I’ve just got a nice bit right we’re going to order food i think we’re going for I’m going for the pan fried guozas it’s their specialtity it contains pork cabbage garlic ginger and others and Kieran’s going to go for the pan fried vegetable guozas you get eight pieces then we’re going to get some edeami and you really fancy this cheese potato maybe ramen i don’t know i think that’s what we’re going to get we’ve demolished the edamomi they were really nice really salty as well and then the good so this is the veggie vegetable ones they’re a little bit smaller and then they’re the pork pork ones and then the cheese potato things have come they look nice as well don’t they should I try one oh I thought that was a drizzle but it’s a plate very nice really hot as well really fresh yummy well we enjoyed it so much that Kieran wanted to get some more pan fried vegetable guozas and I’ve had to get another beer then it’s really nice isn’t it we’ll tell you I can’t I don’t know how much we’ve spent so far hopefully it’s not a lot it won’t be um we’ll tell you how much it is when we do an overall review when we leave the restaurant but it has been really nice so far i would recommend it i mean it is full of tourists isn’t it i mean we’re exactly the same um there is a really cool looking vegan restaurant next door called Oko Okonamayaki if that’s how you pronounce it um which is the famous okonomagyaki uh pancakes but vegan version so obviously none of the meat or none of the egg so Kieran wants to try that because obviously he would he wouldn’t usually be able to have it so we might go there another day we might actually we could always go in and see about reservations couldn’t we Kieran yes yes yes yes yes yes i’m out all finished now at Guoza Okiozar it was really nice really tasty wasn’t it yeah it was really good so we ended up getting another helping of the vegetarian ones because we enjoyed them so much yeah i was like I want some more so I was like will you share them with me it came too so we had three drinks uh two portions of vegetable guozas i had the normal ones we had the edomami beans and the cheesy potato croette things and it came to I think it was just under £30 pretty reasonable for all of that and yeah £29 it was not bad not bad at There’s a queue now as well to get in so people are waiting to go in there so I think it’s better to come early for dinner isn’t it yeah come a little bit earlier but it was really good recommend going in there and then we’re definitely going to go to this vegan place maybe one other day but there wasn’t a queue when we first came was there no so in the space of like an hour and a bit it’s gotten quite busy hasn’t it yeah yeah exactly right let’s go to Doburi well we’re in Doburi let’s go explore we have made it to the Dobbori area with the famous running glyco man um here is the river cruise there’s a few different companies that do it we get that included in our e- pass that we got through Cluke um I don’t know if we need to go exchange that for tickets or what yet um and then just over here in the background you can see it with the blue there that’s the Mega Dona Hotel Ferris wheel that we might do tonight as well depends on what the queue is it’s really bright and uh vibrant over here not too busy though is it no it’s not too bad [Music] okay so we messed up a little bit the Wonder Cruise you’ve got to make a reservation in advance it’s free to do but you just basically need to book your time slot can you do it online though actually yeah they must have sent um there must have been a link on the find out what your attraction says we just didn’t look properly so we got here and he just said “Oh scan that QR code and you make a reservation for tomorrow.” That’s fine and then every time slot was available so we booked tomorrow at half 7 at night um because we don’t have any other plans in the evening um I think what we might do now is go and have a look at how long the queue is for the ferris wheel at Donote it looked quite long when we walked but and if if that’s too long we could always do that tomorrow night as well and make see if we can make a reservation for that and we could go shopping in Donote now maybe go try some street food do that sort of thing we’re just going to go and like have a wonder aren’t we and just explore a little bit I guess okay we’re in the queue for the ferris wheel for Donote it’s apparently only a 15minute wait even though it was queuing all the way down the spiral staircase yeah it doesn’t seem to It seems to be moving relatively quickly yeah it moves regularly doesn’t it it’s just busy isn’t it i think this area is always going to be busy and it takes about 15 minutes to do the actual wheel bit so should be all right to be fair and it’s a,000 yen each I think oh is it i think that’s how much is cash only 2,000 yen what’s that £10 I think that’s what I looked i think I saw one on the cake walk roughly £10 yeah it’s pretty decent to be fair and then I think after this we’re going to go maybe have a drink and then uh just have an explore this area [Music] we’re in the ferris wheel bye hi oh we’re turning around twizzling so you get in normal then it turns 180° and you face out it’s quite cool that you um do get to go on it by yourself as a a group of two even though each car can sit four but you could get really unlucky so someone in front of us just per party of one and they’ll let you go by yourself so if you have loads of parties of one you could be waiting a while this is cool bit scratched it is a bit scratched it’s weird isn’t it right so we’re near the top now and it’s twizzling over the top and it’s really weird this bit’s just [Music] moving some good views now we are all done on the Donkey Hotel Ferris wheel yeah weird it was a interesting experience it was good though good views at the top £550 per person so it’s really cheap isn’t it and it takes 15 minutes to go all the way around it was just really weird cuz when you start to go over the loop bit it sort of like corrects itself and rebalances itself like every few seconds it’s really silent in the thing so all the creeks and rebalancing you can hear like really loudly like is this thing going to make it it’s a bit weird it just needs a little bit of music in there or something play the donkeyote chime for 15 minutes straight oh god no i’ve come off insane um we’re now going to go for a drink somewhere I think i don’t know where cuz it’s busy um it’s like a proper vibe around here music going off street food it is very different very very different to Tokyo isn’t it yeah it’s good fun though [Music] heat hey hey hey [Music] heat heat [Music] [Music] [Music] okay we’re in Geigo the home of the claw grabber machines and we’re going to try and win a Kirby um I think you’ve got to be tactical with these things because there’s some you’re like “Nah never going to win that.” Too top or bottom heavy this is 200 yen per play one two look how cute that one is with the Right ready no oh I swear these things don’t work like it’s it’s it’s too heavy kieran’s going for it now he’s trying to win Dratini what oh my god you just wasted a pound yeah 200 yen the next morning okay second 24 hours in Osaka and our first stop of first stop of today is Shitanogi Temple um so apparently it was built in 593 593 um but it was reconstructed well many times over the centuries and the last reconstruction took place in 1963 apparently it’s known as the uh or regarded as the first Buddhist and oldest officially administered temple in Japan so it is old um we’re going to go and have a look you can sort of see it just over the back of these uh back of this wall right here so this is our first stop of the day and we’ll show you around late autumn spring there must be loads of cherry bottom trees around here as well then maybe we’re just walking through now and we showed the um it’s like a e- pass e- pass that’s the one so I think this is the gardens yeah the gardens of shiti temple oh cute so quiet there’s no one here oh there’s like little waterfalls this is pretty isn’t it [Applause] i imagine it looks really pretty then when it’s got the cherry blossoms out which has just finished over the last few weeks and then when it changes to autumn that’s what that thing that picture wasn’t it it’s only 300 yen per person to get in if you’ve not got the e- pass or the amazing pass so it’s not too expensive no this is very peaceful [Music] You might be the one that truly me i feel [Music] it you might be the one that truly me i feel it too [Music] i feel it [Music] too i feel it too [Music] so you can see how big the area is so we were just in these gardens over here and then this is the main temple area temple area and this is where we’re currently stood so there’s quite a lot of different temples and shrines that you can go and um have a look at as well it’s really nice and peaceful though around here it is at the moment anyway i’m sure it’ll get really busy so here’s the main one which we’re going to take a look at it’s nice isn’t it it’s massive ollie just said kinicha instead of thank you by accident and he got laughed at it’s nice and quiet just beating people just beat a tour guy tour group in haven’t we really nice and peaceful here at the moment definitely recommend getting here when it first opens or just after we got here about 9:00 and it’s empty as you can see but I can imagine that it gets really busy now it costs uh 500 yen per person to get in unless you got the e- pass or the amazing pass then it’s included they’ll just scan your QR code and you’ll come straight in uh that was the same for the gardens earlier as well but if you don’t have either of them then it’s 500 yen for this 300 yen for the gardens so 800 yen per person it’s only like £450 so it’s not too expensive if you don’t want to get one of those passes [Music] all done at Shitanoji Temple now we’re just walking to Suten Kaku Tower and there’s a tower slide as well that we’re going to be able to do now oh I forgot about the slide it’s an observation deck yeah it’s an observation deck and we’ve just walked past what was this called ishi Temple yeah it was on the list so it’s quite good cuz it’s about 35 minute walk from the temple to the tower and this is on the way yeah so we’re going to go have a quick look in here um quick pit stop right next to right next to the zoo all this is as well which you do get access with the amazing pass i keep wanting to say Amazon pass we’re not going to have time to do the zoo though so we’ll have to give that one a miss today i feel it you might be the one that I feel [Music] it i feel it too might be the one [Music] that I feel it too [Music] so we’re at Suken Kaku Tower um we had to queue up and exchange our QR code for a ticket yeah qr code from Didn’t take too long did it no about 15 minutesish yeah not even that uh because we got here at 10:00 and it’s just quart 10 and now we’re going first but here’s the slide just behind us the slide hopefully we can do that oh we’re going in we’ve made it to the top of the observation deck so down here that’s the zoo over there if you can see the bridge that’s the shrine was that the shrine that we were at oh over that way but it’s part of the same thing up here part of the same thing and then to It’s not very big up here is it so you just walk around and here’s the north of Osaka and what you do is you do the slide after you do the observation deck which is pretty cool it’s not too busy at the moment yet so it’s really cool though we do love an observation deck oh there is a special outdoors observation deck as well you do have to pay extra so it’s an extra 300 yen to do that and they’ve got these cool stamps here as well so you can do that we really wish that we’d gotten the bloody book to do this but it’s a bit late now yeah we needed to get it on day one in the morning but Oh well we forgot they really do have these gashapon capsule stations everywhere so these ones light up they love a pressed penny as well yeah I’ve seen lots of pressed pennies everywhere yeah well it’s not a very big observation deck like I said we you can pay extra to go upstairs and outside i’m not bothered about paying extra are you i don’t think we need to there’s some nice views but it’s probably quite good that it’s not too big yeah I’ll try not to move this because it’s really jutddery but we can see the lion from the zoo here so we don’t even need to go to the zoo so there it is how cool is that it’s really juttery though so I’ll stop recording [Music] heat hey Heat [Music] when you come downstairs you come to a little like museum sort of thing it’s only like a few little exhibitions and then into a little gift shop all sponsored by Glyco i think it’s the glyco running man um pocky there’s pocky and pocky there’s pocky everywhere we’re trying to find the entrance to the slide i feel a little bit lost um toilets toilets oh here we go so that was the Glyco Museum uh okay all finished now at the observation tower tukaku that’s not how you say it cuz it it came on the elevator in it that’s not how you say it at all and we did the tower slider we’ll insert the video of that now um so I was petrified before going on it but it really wasn’t that bad it was so funny you can probably see from my little footage how scared I was um but yeah it was really funny kieran went first and all I could hear was him laughing i was probably cackling down the whole thing yeah and that’s really good to be fair cuz you get that included with the E pattern that’s meant to be like 15 to 20 quid on its own so already with that um with the Shitaninoji uh temple what did we do yesterday with it uh well we booked the London Osaka Castle cruise and everything like that like all those things together would have been like4 to50 and we only p£10 each so definitely worth doing to get that yeah 100% i think with the amazing pass as well you actually get um unlimited rides on the metro as well you used to maybe they’ve changed that now but you definitely used to so yeah we’re going to go to the next destination number still keep laughing at the slide um it’s just too funny you have to put your bags in the locker didn’t you yes and take everything off basically and then go up with a helmet and a mat which you’ll have seen yeah it was hilarious um so we’re now going to Namba Yaka Ginger which is the the big face temple so we’ll show you that when we get really popular one i’m sure it’d be very busy we have arrived it looks so cool it’s massive does look cool it’s absolutely huge it’s quite busy but it’s not as busy as I thought it was going to be no okay so we’re at the Namba Yasaka Shrine now and you’ve got the really famous lion head stage behind us so this was built in 1975 and it’s 12 m tall and the big lion’s mouth is believed to swallow evil spirits and bring good luck especially for those looking to do well in school and business matters as well bye-bye evil spirits bye-bye [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all done at number naka did you like it yeah that was like really cool yeah yeah and it wasn’t actually that rammed i mean there was a lot of people there but like I thought it was going to be a lot busier comparison to Tokyo because it’s 20 to 12 yeah exactly we managed to get some good photos so we can always pop a few on so that we can see but um Exactly we can pop a few on you can put some of the other little B-roll clips that we’ve got but yeah really enjoyed it it was It was one of the like coolest ones just because of the whole lion stage yeah it just looks Oh super cool just letting this taxi go past yeah don’t want to get hit they’re quite respectful respectful the way they drive though aren’t they the taxis they’re not like stereotypical taxi drivers apologies if we’ve got any taxi drivers that watch i’m sure you’re lovely um so we’re making our way to towards the Pokémon Cafe yeah so it’s time for our reservation so that’s at 12 and we might stop off at a little shop if we’ve got time oh my god we could take little scooters oh yeah scoot sea of people randomly and we’re representing our little Pokémon t-shirts so I’ve got a little Snorlax one and I’ve got Ditto ollie’s got a Ditto one on the back of mine’s got Snorlax on it which is quite cute so we’re going to head there it’s about a 20 minute walk you just 20-minute journey so we have to walk 10 minutes to the station 5 minutes on the tube not even that i think it’s like 2 minutes on the tube i think it’s like one stop oh really yeah and then um and then we have to walk for another few minutes so yeah really looking forward to that can’t wait to see a little uh cafe PV i’m sure that’ll be funny yeah exactly apparently it’s very overwhelming sensory overload it’s intense yeah um so that’ll be good and then we’re going to take you along with us for the rest of the day but really nice morning so far we’ve done quite a few things haven’t we over the last couple of hours well by the time we do the Pokémon Cafe that’s six stops this morning in what 4 hours so quite good we’re making We’re making good time oh and look at that i love it when you walk does anyone else love it when you walk up to a zebra crossing and it just and it changes instantly for you we’re ready to go i love it especially on a big one like this cuz this would take ages to change um it’s the little things in life isn’t it we’re in the Daim Maru Shopping Center which is how you get to the Pokémon Cafe uh there’s only one lift that goes to the ninth floor um I don’t know why I had to show you nine there are um escalators that you can go yeah there are um so we’re just waiting for that now um it’ll come back up you have to get to the your reservation 10 minutes early and we’ll film what we can of the experience but like I said I can imagine it’s very overwhelming we’re here we’ve made it we’ve made it so on the um map for the shop center it just says character like characters doesn’t say Pokémon floor nine again i’ll show you in case you don’t know how to count to nine so we’re here it’s cute and then there’s a Osark Pokémon DX shop behind us so it’s quite a big quiet it’s not too crazy i think they’re going to tell us to come back in like 10 minutes cuz we’re a bit early yet i think so let’s find out look what Ollie found in the in the [Music] store it’s so cute how much is it i don’t know i just picked up it could be like a million yen it’s going in the basket this is just so adorable it’s a little bento box cute they’ve got so much stuff in here so much stuff cushions would you like a cushion oh these little flannels they love a flannel in Japan like a towel squishies in the local cafe oh we got some water coming now some water it’s actually not that crazy inside is it at the moment it’s quite chill um we’ve got our own little like cordoned off booth so I’m guessing this is from when they reopened with CO and they just kept it because it divides it up a little bit so you order your own food on a tablet um they don’t really do anything for vegetarians apart from the desserts um and you’re not allowed to touch the Pokémon displays you can have photos but you can’t touch them um yeah anything to update on no it’s it’s really cute isn’t it yeah exactly we’ll let you know what we order when we’ve ordered it the food has been ordered not acquired yet but ordered so I’ve gone for the Pikachu Charmander’s Best Friends Curry Plate so it’s butter rice beef curry hamburger steak cheese pumpkin salad coleslaw and chicken cocklet in the shape of Charmander it sounds super cute the stuff’s coming out it looks adorable i’ve also got an apple juice and I ordered a um special float thing didn’t you and then your dessert was the Pokémon Cafes berry chocolate parfait so that’s vanilla ice cream granola cheesecake chocolate brownies whipped cream strawberries and blueberries sounds nice to be fair so hopefully it’ll be as good as it sounds hopefully i’m waiting for Pikachu to come out we don’t even know if Pikachu comes out here pikachu better come out who knows we’ll see so my dessert’s cool looks really good it looks really nice nice and um fruity it’s even got a little edible Pokémon Cafe and Pikachu on it and then this is my float apple syrup soda more apples whipped cream vanilla ice cream and a cookie so that must be a little cookie on top looks really nice and then each person gets like a different Pokémon and then we just played a little game where we picked a Pikachu on an iPad and we won this little souvenir it’s like a coaster type thing we’re not sure if everyone wins but And then this is this is mine you adorable how adorable the It’s the cutlery it’s got Pikachu on it are you going to try your ice cream try it yeah oh so I have my drink first i’ve got ice cream with ice cream and he spilled it oh it tastes really nice i’ll say this all of our food came 6,240 yen which about £35 it’s not cheap but it’s more the experience I think you’re coming for isn’t it yeah it’s really hard to get a reservation i still can’t believe I I can’t believe we got it very lucky and get it at our prime lunchtime as well this is really nice this ice cream it’s nice yeah with the um soda yeah that was that was a win so far might just be spilling it everywhere right let’s try the dessert that way see if we got a little chocolate stick he might I might be in lock cakes he doesn’t like cheesecake so I might be able to eat some of this you might have to anyway oh you mean there’s the ice cream try the strawberry oh yeah that’s quite nice it’s really good winner winner chicken dinner eating a chicken i’m going to enjoy this and you’re going to get your Charmander soon hopefully hopefully mine has arrived so I got the Pikachu curry plate so cute let’s try some of the curry sauce it’s a bit cold it’s very cold actually let’s try it with the rice it tastes nice but it is cold that’s disappointing that is disappointing then you get this little charm and a chicken cutlet on I’m guessing that’s the pumpkin and then a hamburger poke ball and coles and a bit of broccoli and there’s a little Pikachu toothpick so we’ll be having that yummy here’s Pikachu [Applause] shooting [Applause] sideways pikachu [Applause] do the show the show so we are quite near the back for the show don’t know if he comes out and does meet and greets with each table maybe maybe not we’ll see oh he’s doing a little dance this is so funny i thought they played music but no it’s quite quiet at the moment they were playing a Pikachu so funny pikachu use Thunderbolt oh my god what’s happening they just put on Kids TV what are we doing here kieran’s loving it [Music] stand your feet Karen stop okay let’s review the Pokémon Cafe experience in Osaka it was cute i wish Pikachu like we can’t we couldn’t really see him very well from where we were sat that was a little bit disappointing but you would have seen the view of Pikachu that we had um from where we were sat it’s a good experience my dessert was actually really nice so was my drink yeah I think your dessert was nice my meal was okay it was quite cold um strange that and it just didn’t really It tasted okay like it didn’t taste bad or anything it just didn’t really taste that great our friends and Steve said that when they came they said that the food was all right i mean you’re not the experience yeah exactly you’re not coming to have like the best quality meal are you coming to be immersed into Pokémon which you are the theming of it is really good there’s plushies everywhere there’s characters everywhere obviously I can’t show you quite a few of them cuz people around but And then they will bring you your bill as well about halfway through your meal and then you go to pay we’re just sitting down and taking it easy because literally as soon as the Pikachu performance ended everyone got up like the whole restaurant’s emptied and there’s a massive queue to pay now so I’m not I’m not quing when we can just sit down yeah and you can obviously buy little um Pikachu chef plushies and things so we might get a little tiny one we’ll see we’ll see how much they are so like I said before the bill came to £6,270 and that is approximately £34 on today’s exchange rate so it’s not cheap uh well it is cheap but it’s not cheap in comparison to other things in Japan yeah that’s two drinks a dessert and a main plate i mean the the theming of it is really cool like all the little characters the plates the cutlery they’ve really like done really well with that it’s a good experience i’d definitely come if you can get a reservation cuz it’s so hard exactly we’ve seen people queueing as well haven’t we outside to I’ve seen a couple of people that were queuing they are inside now so just keep you clearly can you clearly can and I think our friends Dan and Steve they queued didn’t they don’t think they got res though didn’t they i think so um but yeah so it’s been really good we’re now going to make our plan of what we’re doing next i’m thinking it might be mega hotel oh god donkey donkey day we We’re going to maybe do a little bit of shopping have a little wander we’ve not really done that yet in Japan have we no so we’re going to make a plan but Peg Cafe pretty decent enjoyed it good fun i’d give it a 6 out of 10 yeah something similar six out of 10 i’d actually give it like a three out of 10 for the food but like I bumped it up because it is very immersive my food was good yeah all right let’s go pikachu out it’s been a while since we’ve given you a bit of an update so we thought we would just do that now we’ve just been going over and going to some of the secondhand vintage shops here in Aaka cuz all across Japan that’s quite a well-known thing to do isn’t it or it’s well known that they will have like designer goods and they’ll have them in the secondhand and vintage stores but the quality will still be really high and the price will reflect that as well and the authenticity is really strict here as well which is really good exactly like there’s no risk of it like oh it’s a fake because like they will get in a lot of trouble won’t they apparently um so we’ve been we haven’t filmed any of that because a lot of them you don’t really want to film in and probably not really allowed oh can we just go over to the vending machine i am vending machine oh okay going to cross over to the vending so we’ve been having a little look we’ve seen a couple of things that we sort of like i saw seen a watch that I really like i wasn’t going to say about specifics but I really like it oh there’s that 10 yen coin that you want oh yeah anyway getting distracted so we’ve been looking around some shops so that’s been really nice and really chill hasn’t it and then we just nipped into my favorite Louis um just to get my book oh there’s nothing in there oh okay let’s keep walking there um cuz I collect travel books from there as well yeah it’s nothing crazy is it it’s just a little travel book which you like to collect it’s a Tokyo one there’s a couple illustration travel book isn’t it yeah so they do illustration ones which I collect and then like um travel books which have um loads of information about like hotel stuff to do and but they didn’t have that one that I wanted oh there’s a family Mark right here to get a drink to be fair okay so yeah we’re just going to have a You were talking about drinks and I’m here trying to talk about travel books okay travel books drinks we’re going to the next the next store it’s called Kindle so so I think our plan is also go on i just completely interrupted you i’m just saying we went to we’re going to a store called Kindle now went to one called Brand then we went to Kong and then a couple of other um to have a little look so so now plan is going to one more of these vintage shops then maybe Mega Donaote um um and you want we want to get the famous cheesecake famous cheesecake need to get that and I want a bloody hundred yen cheese coin cheese coin we will we will be doing that air bugs we are in Donkeyote we’ve already grabbed the foot things we’ve also come to the one before Mega Donaote because it’s a lot quieter isn’t it with the ferris wheel yeah it’s nowhere near as crazy says some of the foot things they’ve got eye ones as well it’s always just like overwhelming in here there’s so much stuff we found Disney’s things i want a scanner there’s scanners that tells you more body sheet extra cool snow White Genie they’ve got all the gang they’ve also got some pet toys look at these weird rabbit things 1,680 that’s the taxfree price they are creepy oh okay oops loads of stuff bloody mental they’re just um face wipes oh face wipes oriental flower yeah cuz they’re next to these and look these are face sheets okay we’re on floor four we’ve got three more to go kieran’s just found something found the Dragonite Push it’s the exact same one it’s the official one it is the exact same um tag as the one that we brought from the Pokémon store earlier which was Ollie’s Lapras so we got it and this is a look at some of the other stuff that we’ve got so I’ve got this Ishi ramen set which the famous raisin set which is the famous ramen um in um Japan we got some pockies some veggie cookies we got some of more the cooling mask can you just show the cooling feet things got some more Kit Kats um we’ve got these yeah they’re really good we’ve been using them every night um that was it isn’t it i think so oh and the face masks the blue pack there oh this one oh the genie ones oh no these these so they’re apparently really really famous here as being really really good the Dermala 100s so that’s a moisturizing one so we’re going to try them out tonight and then if we like more we can get some on our final day in Tokyo can’t we yes so that’s everything we’ve got so far three more floors to go so there’s more merch to be had so if you can’t find the plushy that you want from the Pokémon store it is worth coming they’ve got quite a lot of different ones some of the OGs dragonite use Hyperbeam this is S the big ones are hilarious but we’d never get them home and they’ve got some Giblly things they got loads of stuff in here literally anything you want you can probably find it we just stopped and had a drink at the Mega Donaote store obviously not not from the Donote store just next to the ferris wheel basically they don’t sell that well they do sell beer and alcohol but not like that um Mega Asahi um and you had plum wine it was actually even though it looked like whiskey um oh yeah it was quite good actually um we’re now coming for dinner we’re going to a place called Oko oh is that the queue i don’t know oh oko okam okonamiyaka um which is a vegan version of the famous uh Japanese street food okonamiyaki yeah we’re going to check it out see what it’s like hopefully we don’t have to wait yeah if there’s a massive queue you might have an update [Applause] i [Music] do it’s a party oh hopefully you can see some of that some of the options okay so we have made it to Oko Aqua um it’s a really weird system so what you do is you queue up you order at a counter they give you a little ticket number oh that’s our that’s ours number one and then what you do is um you pay there she’ll give you a ticket she’ll call your name or your number and all the drinks are free serving so it’s 200 yen whatever drink that you want free serving honesty box and then you squeeze a rubber chicken when you get it so anyway I’m going to go get our food ollie collecting the food [Music] that’s the rubber chicken that you squeeze [Music] okay food has been delivered by yours truly so we got the vegan guozas they look really good salted edamami beans vegetable yaki sober and then the vegetarian okonami yaki which looks like that oh my god it’s massive smells amazing so we’ll dig into this now and we’ll let you know what it’s like but the beer is free flowing is it all done at Oko Okonamiyaka um it’s really nice wasn’t it it’s a mouthful of that isn’t it yeah really nice um food tastes really good quality you did actually have to be careful because they do do meat options on the menu i thought it was vegetarian only yeah we thought it was just vegetarian/vegan but it’s not so when we saw that it was like beef and chicken we thought “Oh vegan vegan versions.” Yeah but it was not she did ask us when we were there she’s like “Are you sure you’re not vegetarian?” We were like “Oh no we are.” Yep well you are but easier for us to say that we both are but really tasty really good quality the really good the um yaki soa was it yeah that was really yummy as well like and then the okonamiyaki was like all crispy there was some sauces you could put on it it was really good actually yeah really tasty we’ve now just come to do the Wonder Cruise at nighttime so what we had to do with the e- pass we had to make a reservation in advance online you have seen that earlier on so um come and scan the QR code uh for the one that you want to do there’s a few different options to do scan the QR code make the reservation we did it for the day after because it was completely full when we came and then you come and just show your e- pass and they give you a ticket yeah seems pretty straightforward it’s last about 20 minutes like we said earlier on so hopefully it’ll be all right nice and chill sit down everyone’s waving at us at the moment hopefully it’ll be pretty chill and then and then we’re going to go back to the hotel I think after that because we got to get ready for tomorrow yes we’ve got lots of things planned stay tuned oh we’ve picked up [Music] [Applause] speed [Music] heat hey heat hey heat [Music] baby [Music] me hey [Music] hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey me hey hey feel me hey [Music] Okay situation report last time we saw you we were on the Wonder Cruise on Doburi yeah it was really nice it was included in the e- pass so like pretty simple pretty straightforward to use um I would definitely do it if you’ve got the e- pass but if you’ve not got the e- pass then I wouldn’t say that you’ve got to do it like it’s a must no don’t go pay for it it was good fun we enjoyed it there was music you know it was nice to see the sites from the boat so yeah it was really nice nice 20minut ride yeah exactly uh we also ate at the Oko Okonamiyaki which is a really nice vegetarian friendly place and vegan friendly place really really nice food and really reasonably priced i think it came to £25 in total for everything that we had yeah that’s pretty decent and it was a bit more of a unique experience with like the setup of the restaurant and how you ordered and how you actually ate and everything like that so that was quite interesting and quite fun so I would definitely recommend going cuz the food was really nice and we really enjoyed everything that we had like top notch absolutely um we’ve now come back to the hotel to uh start packing our cases because tomorrow we go to Kyoto so uh tomorrow is our last sort of like half day in Osaka we go to Kyoto tomorrow evening so we’ll do a few more trips tomorrow morning we’ll do a few more sites and we’ll take you along with us yeah exciting the next morning welcome to our final day in Osaka boo it’s been really good hasn’t it it’s been really nice really enjoyed it so far so we’re looking forward to another day of activities activities exactly today we are going to Osaka Aquarium yeah we’re on our way now so we’ve got a reservation for 9:00 this morning we’ve pre- booked our tickets just directly through their website really easy to do you can only do it 30 days in advance I think um and it cost us about £1650 per ticket yeah it’s going to take us about half an hour to get there from the hotel that we’re staying at which is the Double Tree by Hilton Bay Castle yeah so not too long and that includes walking time as well i think when you’re actually on the train it doesn’t take long at all does it no not really so really excited it’s supposed to be a really good aquarium yeah yeah they’ve got a whale shark i think it’s supposed to be one of the best really in the world I think i’ve heard so reminds me of the whale shark from Finding Glory it’s your destiny destiny destiny that’s funny did that tickle you did it oh dear it’s your destiny destiny so yeah I’m really looking forward to it obviously we’ll let you know when we get there we’ll show you around the aquarium um how much was it £1650 per person it’s pretty reasonable to be fair it’s our destiny and then afterwards we’re going to hit some more shops and then we’re not sure what else are we today we’ve done quite a few things on our plan oh you want to get the cheese coin and we want to cheese want to get going want to get some more snacks and the cheesecake still cuz we didn’t do that last night we have arrived in the vicinity of Osaka Aquarium there’s a about a 10-minute walk after you get off the train so we took the Tanamachi line which is the purple one and then changed the Chuo line took about 20 minutes I’d say yeah not too bad to be fair it wasn’t too busy either no no it was all right i mean we had it it was busy on the first one but we were only on that for one stop and then we Oh green man sounds like a new Squid Games wasn’t it like green light red light we’re not doing Squid Game we’re not doing Squid Games um I’d be out first round bye-bye so I’d be like just take me now um so yeah I’m intrigued to see how busy it is here because it is a Saturday and Golden Week which is a major public holiday starts next uh this coming Monday so it’s Saturday starts on Monday we’ll see hopefully it won’t be too bad because we’ve got the first time slot yeah exactly i mean that’s one thing that I would recommend when coming to Japan i know it means that you got to get up early but just book the first time slot cuz generally it’s a lot quieter 100% agree there’s also a massive ferris wheel over this side of Aaka plus Legoland as well yeah so if you’re interested in any of those attractions you can come here to do that and a lot of them are included in the e- pass and the amazing pass but you just got to be a bit tactical with like making sure that you do everything that’s in one location otherwise you’re coming back and forth and back and forth and wasting time close together sometimes but the aquarium is just this building over here just on the corner so we’re nearly there now um the Osaka passes are usually for a couple of days aren’t they we had a two-day one yeah you can only get a two-day or one day so I think up here let’s head this way yeah oh look there’s a big whale shark on the front and there’s a big giraffe hello this is cute around here hello i’m teaching K and whale okay we’re here looks really cool massive whale shark on the front it looks like actually quite a big building looks massive i wonder if it goes um underneath as well so there’s the ticket counter over here so we’re just going to go and sort out our tickets we’ve already gotten them so hopefully we can just scoot through it looks like you can buy tickets if you need them here yeah it’s not too busy yet it’s only Well they just opened we’re on our first walkway oh look kieran really doesn’t like these sorts of tubes he gets really freaked out by them i don’t really know why i think they I think they just send me a bit dizzy send you a bit dizzy you’re not scared the water’s going to come crashing through hey maybe they’re just a bit weird so um I don’t Did you say about paying for the behind the scenes thing no so there is a potential that you could pay for behind the scenes thing um and it’s 1,500 1,500 yen per person I think and that’s where you can maybe go behind the scenes to see the whale shark feeding um so if that’s available I think we might book it actually cuz 1,500 that’s only like £8 per person that seems really cheap really reasonable doesn’t it so I think we go all the way to the top and then make our way down oh I have no idea what we’re doing looks good though look what do you want from me that’s not whale great as you come out above the escalator you come up to a forest and often I don’t know if you can see them first thing that we can see mandarin dog cool i think that one’s black crowned night heron that’s the mandarin dog oh that’s the mandarin dog walk towards us go jump in there he is oh cute everyone loves us okay so the sea lions are fighting oh they’re not happy with each other they might be playing oh wow did you see that yeah and another one this is apparently a South American cozy did you say quite cute it’s like a brown raccoon oh he’s gone there he is or she could be a she and then there’s fishies oh yeah that does look creepy some fish do look really creepy don’t they Kieran yep [Music] that’s why Kieran became a vegetarian and we’re right now with a turtle cute why are turtles always so cute hello oh having a little breath of [Music] air really close to the glass isn’t he he’s smiling look at the strange these are big fish yeah these are that one wants to have a photo apparently this big one here what did you say it was called oh I mean there’s there’s another one over here piruku piruku they are creepy i mean look at the size of it it’s just weird now for everyone’s favorite the penguins the sleepy [Music] zoom in on you mate he’s very sleepy they’ve even got a little bit of ice flying down he’s hitting it in the head yeah like Kieran said that’s ice well it looks like ice flowing down and it’s just hitting them in the head zoom in and show you [Music] this one looks very proud i did it do it you can do it right chunky neck jump that is a little baby one there well it’s not little oh look at the brown one now jump in come on you can do it [Music] come on little penguin jump in oh look it’s thinking about it that’s like me when I go to Volcano Bay oh hello there you go thank you penguin one of them jumped in that’s it now they’re all going to follow so here’s a coral reef and I just saw a dory there’s loads of Dory’s car look all over there look at that fish there [Music] so this is the exhibition where the whale sharks are giant stingrays or the cat shark what they’ve called at the bottom hammerhead shark no there’s one at the bottom as well that’s a hammerhead shark oh here it is oh look it’s destiny that’s massive whoa that’s cool [Music] he’s gone she’s gone to the surface oh there’s another one another one [Music] it’s coming right for us it’s coming right for us imagine if it just gobbled up all the other fish come on boys they don’t eat other [Music] fish cool octopus oh he’s he’s going for a nap bye-bye he’s hiding for prey is he like a face hugger from Alien [Music] the good thing about the main tank is that there’s loads of different viewpoints as you come down the aquarium around it there’s loads of windows like the first one’s really crowded and busy yeah and it just says to keep moving around doesn’t it because you there are more observation points but people just ignore that you can probably see through the end they’ve all got different levels so it’s quite good because you can get lots of different views of the Yeah you just sort of spiral down it don’t you [Music] just then i can’t believe how big they are bye Destiny under the sea under the sea damn oh it’s wet we found more Dories there’s loads of Dory’s here that’s not very big and then there’s loads of Neos over well there’s two Nemo and some weird crab things nemo have you let your dad find there’s your [Music] dad oh just put my hand in there and scoop one out oh it came to the surface when you put your hand there oh no oh they think they’re going to get fed oh I’m sorry nasty Karen i don’t have any food that’s quite cool comes right to the surface [Music] so these crabs are striking a pose strike a pose this one has massive eyes look at them all moving about there’s loads of them there’s one right at the back up there hello crab they look really my they do look really annoyed don’t they look at that fish just chilling on the rock oh yeah he’s a bit camouflaged actually isn’t he so we have decided to do the backstage feeding it cost 2,000 yen per person you can’t film or take photos of anything you can’t take anything half an hour as well we can’t take any accessories going to drop everything off in the lockers and we’re really quickly incognito filming this right now aren’t we so we’ll put the camera down before we get in before we get into the We we do have to do on the eighth floor we managed to We were on like the fourth floor and we asked the one of the staff members like “Oh well what’s how do we get the feeding thing?” And she like ran us backstage downstairs we have 5 minutes spare let’s go let’s go this that one’s That’s Kai and the other one’s called you we did the tour we weren’t able to film anything on it so the behind the scenes tour where they fed them um and we found out loads of information so we’ll share that with you as soon as we leave hi Kai hi Kai kai means ocean no yes kai means ocean oh there’s you she’s up there means play we’re all done now at the Kaouan um aquarium really really enjoyed that really worth a really worth a trip isn’t it yeah it’s really big actually inside as well there’s loads of different um fishes you can see that you there’s loads of bits where you can sit down as well and just like chill yeah yeah exactly so we’ve been here just over 2 hours I think um so we spend a good amount of time here and I think the highlight definitely has to be the behind thescenes feeding with the whale sharks that only happens twice a day at quart 10 at 6:00 so yeah we’re really lucky to get that and we learned loads of different things and there were about 20 people would you say yeah but they split you off into different groups so in our group we had four um which included us and then there was more of a um lady that had more English yeah yeah she spoke really good English and she told us loads of facts so in that main tank there’s 50 species um and there’s 1,500 different fishes as well um apparently there’s 5,400 tons of water it’s huge when you look at it from the top and it’s 9 m deep i’m reading this from a piece of paper that she gave us by the way I’m not that good at remembering you can’t write anything down cuz you’re not allowed to take anything not photos or anything um and they’ve got two whale sharks one called Kai and one called you you exactly kai’s the male use the female exactly and it’s the Kaou Can aquarium so I said “You need one more for can.” But she said that the tank’s not big enough for a third one oh is that what she said yeah um and uh Kai is 4.7 m you is 6.2 um and Kai is a lot younger he’s about 7 to 8 years old and he only came last year where they’ve had you for 10 years and you is that old she’s 17 to 18 so she’s a lot older really and a lot bigger and she eats a lot more as well than what he does they were telling us exactly um and you can distinguish them and you could actually distinguish them couldn’t you cuz one’s lighter gray and one’s darker gray and it was so cool with all the information we saw them feeding them and everything like that as well yeah so at the top they had different feeding spots so they did the whale sharks in the middle and then they had like manta rays on the side they had Indian mackerel um you could see some of the other sharks it was really good how they like separated it all out so that they obviously they could eat in peace I guess yeah and that’s the diagram of the actual tank and all the different sections so it’s really windy where we are so cuz we just come to the waterfront but it was it was really really good i would definitely recommend that if you can do it and what’s nice is cuz there’s only two it felt like it was quite exclusive I guess cuz it’s really busy in there now so if you don’t really know about definitely come for when it opens cuz when we came it was really quiet first thing and now it’s rammed so we we went round the whole thing sort of came all the way down near enough done it yeah and then they rushed us to the top because we miss where to get the tickets it cost £13 per person i think that’s so reasonable i think they could charge a lot more yeah definitely it was so good for the price and you got to see them proper eating and everything so it was really interesting obviously I wish I could show you but yeah obviously we can’t we can’t but yeah no really really interesting really good oh and Japanese for whale shark by the way is jimbeimbe zame yeah and jimbeay was like a traditional was it like a kind of like type thing and it has the pattern of like the whale shark basically on it yeah and zame means shark yeah it was really good they were saying that um they were rescued yeah as well so they were rescued from fisherman nets yeah and they was caught weren’t they so that was really sweet and then once they get older cuz they’re currently still like babies and children they get released back yeah apparently even at 17 18 years old they’re still too young to breed so they’re not going to be breeding them they said they they want to release them yeah it was really good really interesting the lady was amazing and then we at the bottom of the um aquarium there’s a Starbucks obviously so we got a Starbucks so we picked up the Osaka mug and it’s got the whale shark on it which is really cute really cute love it so yeah really good come and do it yeah on our way to the station now our next stop is going to be back to Umeida where we did the observation deck cuz we’re going to go to the Nintendo store yeah and then there’s another Kiho which is a secondhand store that we want to check out see if there’s any goodies any goodies see if there’s any bars it looks like it’s like the big one there doesn’t it like maybe one of the flagship stores yeah it’s good cuz each area’s got like loads of different shopping districts hasn’t it yeah exactly so you can There’s loads to explore I guess yeah and it’s only about half an hour away from where we are now it’s not too far this complex where all the aquariums wheel is all at the like sort of end of Osaka well the sea yeah and we’re basically just going back the way that we came so let’s go okay we’ve made it to Osaka station and then you use the bridge exit to get here and it’s in the shopping center called Daim Maru something like that damaru damaru and then you have to go right up moo Sheru oh that’s from watching Adam Happens vlogs um I’m not seeing that oh and here’s the elevator um and then it’s on the 13th floor is that right i think so yeah really easy to get to though it is um we’ll show you the Nintendo store i don’t know how it’s all crazy here isn’t it so I bet you it was crazy it will be crazy let’s face it right show you the Nintendo store so me and Ollie are playing a game cuz we just waited for the lift and it was full so we went to a different one and the game is I’m going to take the escalators from the fourth to the 13th to the Nintendo store he’s going to wait for another lift and we’re going to see who wins so it’s on i hope I’m going to win i’m on floor seven already so hopefully he loses we will see in a few minutes oh okay i’m on the 13th floor where is the Nintendo store i have no idea now I’ve got to find it oh hopefully I win where is the N i see the Nintendo store go go go i’m scooching now i’m scooching i’m scooching oh he beat me ages you’ve been there ages apparently the lift came straight away oh well that’s typical we’re at the Nintendo store so this Nintendo store is a lot more manageable it’s not as crazy they’ve got some exclusive t-shirts to Osaka and it’s all zoned out just like it was in Tokyo if you watched our Tokyo video so you’ve got um Zelda Mario Pikmin Super Mario um and then you’ll have Animal Crossing what else is there kirby loads of stuff how adorable are these salt and pepper shakers i want to know what that is maybe it’s just a figure is it a pen i think it’s a pen oh my god that’s hilarious the um salt and pepper shakers are 2,750 they are so cute see that’s 1,925 so I think they’re much better value yeah and they’re like ceramic aren’t they we’ve been to the Nintendo store and I’ve gotten a couple of little bits um of souvenirs for people haven’t I yeah so we uh was in there weren’t in there very long it was quite busy it wasn’t It wasn’t as bad as Tokyo no we went and it is a Saturday today in Pokémon store as well which is next to it and that was crazy busy yeah they got So we didn’t show any of that cuz a lot of the stuff’s the same yeah exactly so there’s not really anything else that we really want to get from there now no we’re all done now I think with Pokémon stores and Nintendo stores but we’ll go to the Hiroshima one still cuz that’s new isn’t it it’s just brand new it’s reop being refurbed so we’ll check it out yeah we’ll have a look at that one so we’re now at Kiho we’ll show you what the building looks like but it looks quite like a big one absolutely enormous so this is it right here this one with the glass windows we probably won’t really film in there but who knows if it’ll be any good or not we’ll see we’ll have a look shoppy shoppy time [Music] heat heat [Music] right so we’ve not updated you for quite a while all that we did for the remainder of Osaka is that we got a Oh we’re going to get hit by a bike we got one of the famous cheesecakes we’ll show you that later from Ruros and also we stopped and had a little drink at Doburi as well we’re now rushing back to the hotel to get our luggage we’ve left it a little bit close to when our Shinkansen is yeah and it was nice to sit on out of breath i am it was nicer to sit on but it’s been really sunny today so um it was really nice to um just chill have a little drink i had some plum wine and it sounds really weird but it’s actually really nice really sweet isn’t it and it cost like £3 um so that was really good um I don’t It wasn’t too busy either was it it was quite I mean it was in comparison in comparison it wasn’t too bad so it was nice to have a little last minute wonder and a last minute drink in Saka because we’re going to Kyoto yeah kyoto is our next stop so what we’ll do is we’ll put the camera down now get the luggage and then we’ll end the video there because that is our 72 hours on Osaka nearly done yeah and we’ll give you a round off of all the activities and our favorite things um and yeah okay so that ends our trip to Osaka we are joining you currently from our newest hotel in Kyoto which we’re going to do a whole separate video on our time in Kyoto and N as well so go check that out um let’s summarize and recap Osaka so Kieran what were your thoughts super fun like quite trendy busy like everywhere um yeah really nice i really I’ve enjoyed our few days here i think the three days has been more than enough we’ve had a bit more of a chill day today we’ve only done a couple of extras yeah you you will have noticed on this won’t they in terms of last 24 hours not that much going on but it’s been really good fun and obviously I would definitely come back 100% so we’re going to give you our top three things that we’ve done that we’ve really liked um whilst we’ve been here so yeah so number one number one the aquarium today was really really good this isn’t in any particular order by the way number one the aquarium was really good we really liked that and especially with the feeding thing I would definitely do that cuz it was really interesting yeah exactly um number two Nambber shrine nambber shrine with the uh lion stage on it that was really cool so the really big lion stage iconic shrine yeah that was really cool obviously just the vibe of it the look of it yeah it was that was really interesting and really cool to see yep and then the third thing uh would be Osaka Castle so we really enjoyed that we obviously did the little boat ride there and it was just it it was just really pretty wasn’t it stunning yeah really nice to go to um and reasonably priced all included with our e- pass as well obviously we enjoyed everything that we did but they’re just maybe our top three things and of course that doesn’t include Universal Studios yes definitely recommend doing that but we thought we can’t just add another theme park into our top three things let’s go a bit more traditional with what we’re recommending but USJ was so much fun had such a good time and that’s an added bonus but yeah we’ve had an amazing time we’re really looking forward to exploring Kyoto and N so obviously that’s where we’re going to be now for the next few days which is really exciting lots of fun things planned so make sure to stick around make sure you subscribe comment down below if you’ve been to Osaka if there’s anything that you think that we could have done that’s maybe like a top thing for you as well and obviously we’d love to see and hear that yeah yeah we hope this video has been useful to you yeah and we’ll see you in the next one we’ll see you soon bye bye [Music]
