The Dream Sphere celebrates a major milestone, highlighting Singapore’s global presence in culture, innovation and diplomacy.
OSAKA — The Singapore Pavilion, known as the Dream Sphere, has welcomed its one millionth visitor at the halfway point of Expo 2025 Osaka, celebrating a remarkable milestone for the nation’s presence at the global event.
His Excellency Ong Eng Chuan, Singapore’s Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the Singapore Pavilion, said the achievement reflects the strength of Singapore’s vision and its enduring ties with Japan and the world. He noted that the Pavilion’s success demonstrates how Singapore continues to share its commitment to innovation, sustainability and inclusiveness with international partners.
Visitors have praised the Pavilion for its striking architecture and engaging exhibits. Ms Yabune Nao, who visited twice with her mother, described the experience as memorable and highlighted features such as the impressive exterior, the paper cutting art displays, and the space for visitors to write down their dreams.
Since its opening, the Pavilion has hosted a royal visit by Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko, performances by Singaporean artists including Readeafination, The Island Voices, Shazza and Shruti, and cultural showcases by HeritageSG’s Intangible Cultural Heritage practitioners. SG Enable’s discussions on inclusive spaces and various industry events have also deepened connections between Singapore and Japan.
The Pavilion continues to serve as a platform for trade and knowledge exchange, with a three-year Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau (SECB) and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Singapore. Educational talks by NTU and SUTD have further explored Singapore’s innovation landscape and collaboration with Japanese partners.
Visitors can enjoy immersive daily experiences at the Dream Sphere, including multimedia art installations, performances, local food at Shiok! Café and the chance to contribute their aspirations at the Dream Repository. The Pavilion remains open daily from 9:00am to 10:00pm until 13 October 2025.
