#11 Let’s enjoy Mt. Moiwa in summer! 夏の藻岩山を楽しんじゃおう!
Hello everyone. This is Saporo Hokkaido, Japan. On this channel, I will be sharing all kind of things from hidden gems that most tourists don’t know about to famous spots everyone loves, delicious food, and even everyday scenes. This time I’m planning to take the Mount Oua rope way to enjoy the mountain in summer. Here we are at the base station of the Mount Moa ropeway. Let’s head to the boarding area. The base station is a fourstory barrierfree building. As you can see, the ticket includes a round trip on both the ropeway and the mini cable car taking you all the way to the summit oburo residents can get a discounted fair. There are also hiking trails, so it might be fun to challenge yourself and Give it a try. We are now boarding the ropeway. Off we go. Let’s get going. It’s a 5-minute ride to the Midway station. Mount Moa is just a short distance from downtown Saporo and rises 531 m above sea level. You can reach the midway station by ropeway or car and from there hop on the mini cable car to get to the summit observatory. You can see the city escape of Saporro coming into view. Saporro is the fifth most populous city in Japan. Home to about 1.95 million people. Despite being a big city, it’s rich in nature and attracts many tourists throughout the year. The small mountain you see in the city is called Maruyama. Behind it are Hokkaido shrine and Maruyama. The white tower you can see is the pagod of Buddha’s relics. Buddha’s relics refer to the remains to Buddha himself. We’re about to arrive at the midway station. We’ve just stepped it outside the Midway station. If you come by car using the sightseeing road, you can reach this point. From here on, even drivers had to take the cable car to reach the top. Here you’ll find Moa Mountain Shrine tucked away in this spot. Hope you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful view. That squirrelike character is Morris, that mascot of Mount Moa. Even the cable car is named the Maurice car. He’s a forest fairy who lives on Mount Moira. Let’s hop on the Morris car and head up to the summit. It only takes 2 minutes to get there. During the ropeway and cable car rides, you will hear announcements that guide you through the scenery and city views. It may vary depending on the season or equipment, but announcement are also made in English. We’ve arrived at the summit of the bait tree. The cityscape of Saporro stretched out before us. On a clear day, you can see as far as Ishkari Bay, the Hidaka Mountains, and even the mountain near Lake Shikotu. Down below, you can see the parking lot at the Midway station. The daytime view is beautiful, but the night view is just as stunning. You can see the ski lodge over there. In winter, this mountain is also popular for skiing. And I’ve got some ski videos, too. So, be sure to check them out. Just so you know, this is how it looks in the winter. The gift shop is full of Morris merchandise. There are also sweets and all kind of souvenirs. So, if you have time, be sure to come and enjoy the view from Mount Moira. Bye-bye. Thank you for watching. If you like this video, please consider subscribing.
