11 Days Japan Luxury Cruise Voyage | Viking Yi Dun by Japanet Cruise 🇯🇵
Today we are going on an 11 Day Cruise Journey across Western Japan using the Viking Ocean Luxury Cruise! Exploring beautiful landscapes, culture, and food! Please enjoy the trip! A few years ago, I flew to the UK to board one of the world’s most luxurious cruise ships, but I never set sail. Maybe they watched my video and took pity. They invited me to ride their cruise today. By “they,” I mean Japanet, Japan’s largest home shopping company. They even expanded to the U.S. recently. So here we are. I believe this is the cruise ship. And this is… The Nordic-style luxury cruise, Viking Yi Dun. Cruise ships usually have different classes. And this one belongs to the luxury class. One of the best in the world. It’s a true luxury cruise experience, with an 18+ adults-only policy. And this time, the entire ship has been chartered by Japanet Tourism. For a special Western Japan cruise. There are 465 rooms and just 930 passengers. Making it a relatively small cruise ship. All rooms come with a private balcony, no inside cabins. That’s… actually kind of amazing! By default, the ship includes regular meals, drinks, Wi-Fi, and even tips. And since it’s a Japanet Tourism they’ve customized everything to suit their guests. There are only 9 floors making the cruise ship very accessible, even using the stairs. For comparison, Cunard’s Queen Mary II has 17 and the MSC Bellisima has 19 floors. This is the route. Cruise roundtrip from Yokohama through tropical Amami and historic Tanegashima. Explore Nagasaki and Jeju’s cultural blend, then trace Japan’s coastal heritage from Shimonoseki to sacred Ise. The prices start at a whopping $9,800 per person with pre and post-cruise experiences. For more details, please check the QR code. The tour price is ¥849,000 per person. Yes, finally I am here. Alright, I am coming now. I’m checked in! Let’s get going. Oh wow, I’m excited. When boarding, keep essentials in your carry-on, since you won’t see your checked luggage for a few hours. Wow, this is pretty big when up close. It can’t fit the camera angle. Let’s board on the luxury cruise. Exciting. Hello. Thanks for the welcome drink. As expected, the crew are excellent, they can handle Japanese very well. First, we were allowed to go-to our room. I am here at Deck 3 where my room is. I can already see this is one of my favorite pleces. The sound of the piano is also very clam. Threre are about 100 rooms here. My room is 3050. Our room type is Deluxe Veranda Room. 3048… And 3050. Here is my room. Open sesame. Wow, this is my room. The Deluxe Veranda Room. Oh my goodness, this is amazing. It’s beautiful. This is the room type you’ll find the most on board. Here is our balcony. This is not an emergency boat room. All of the rooms have an unobstructed view, with a feeling of openness and only the dolphins if you are lucky. This is great. Now, let’s go on a cruise tour. This ship has 9 decks. Let’s start with Deck 1. In the atrium lounge, known as the “The living room,”. There is a live music performance. A small patisserie offering complimentary sweets and fresh-made snacks. This lobby bar serves coffee, cocktails, and gourmet treats. The coffee here was absolutely delicious. There are 7 dining options. Two of which require reservations. And this is the one, “Manfredi’s”, the Italian restaurant. You can enjoy traditional Italian cuisine. It’s open for dinner from 17:30 to 21:00, Actually, many of the recipes were inspired by traditional home-cooked dishes from Tuscany. Making you feel like you’re dining in Italy. Reservations are required. “The Chef’s Table”. Reservations are also required. It’s a bit more relaxed and casual. Featuring a rotating menu of themed international cuisine. Each course is paired with carefully selected wines by the sommelier. And the wine pairings (under $18 per glass) are included free of charge. It seems like there is something amazing on display. But something special seems to be just around the corner. And you’ll find what this cruise is truly all about “the Nordic Spa”. Wow. A one-of-a-kind experience only this ship can offer. The beauty of this spa is how universally welcoming it is. On the Japanet Cruise, we can stay two more extra hours just for us. Unwind your body and mind until 22:00. Nice. A cold sauna. What does it even mean? Yes, it’s cold here. And a steam sauna. Well. I can’t see… This is the men’s changing room, and the women’s is on the opposite side. When you open there, there is a relaxing room. There’s a sauna and shower and a bathing facility. And an ice bath. My body temperature is bugged. And the fitness center. What are these machines? Well, I’ll come back for some fitness after. Yes, you’re usual dumbbell as well. Wow. A Hair Salon? It provides hair and nail services, including nordic facial treatment, manicures, pedicures, haircuts, and so on. Alright, I’m back where I started. Guest Services provides assistance, information, dining and spa reservations, and purser services. Both English and Japanese are available, so it’s very reassuring. “The Star Theater” This is the main venue for evening performances, Including musical productions, concerts, comedy shows, and dance performances. After boarding, we watched the safety drill video here. Safety first! It also hosts lectures and media presentations during the day. They explain everything about the cruise at the beginning, so no worries. A special “How to Enjoy Japanet Cruises” session was held for first-timers. With a drink in hand, we learned tips to make the most of life on board. “The Nordic Shop”. The Shops offer with a wide range of items. It showcases Norwegian and Viking history, along with replicas of weapons, clothing, and jewelry. The Oriental Shop. A wide variety of items are available, from Viking Cruise souvenirs. And cosmetics to finely crafted specialty goods. The 1872 is a bar theatre. It’s a venue for late night events. The Atrium spans at deck1-3 with a relaxing atmosphere. Relaxed seating with tables for card and board games is available. set up Shogi and Othello games for us here! There’s also a Viking heritage museum featuring detailed replicas. Now, let’s see what’s beyond this. “The Restaurant”. The main dining room located at the aft of the ship offers. Open seating with a daily-changing menu. There’s a billion seats. I’m at the Deck 7 now. “World Café”. A buffet-style restaurant offering a variety of international cuisines, including both Western and Japanese dishes. It’s a casual dining venue with indoor and outdoor seating options. There’s a lot of food to choose from. All drinks including alcohol is complimentary. (under $18). Nice. I got a pineapple juice. Cheers, my people. I think I’ll have a meal. Guys, my predecessor just started eating. Please. I haven’t even started yet. No way. But I wasn’t hungry so I got… Smoke salmon. I think I got my moneys worth on this meal. Thanks for the food. There were plenty of options for dessert so I got these 2. There’s an infinite pool past the buffet with potential for stunning views. There is also a Jazuzzi by the pool. This is probably the main pool. And the ceiling is a retractable glass magrodome. Allowing for swimming in various weather conditions. However I did hardly ever seen people inside the pool for the 11 days of cruising. A jacuzzi is situated at the front of the pool area. “Wintergarden”. Every day, we can have a special afternoon tea here. It’s very quite in here. I could hear my footsteps loud and clear. It has a Nordic-style design, like a Winter Garden, made to let in lots of sunlight. The space features a wood canopy, symbolizing the mythic Norse “Tree of Life,” offering afternoon tea beneath its graceful branches. “Mansen’s” It offers traditional Norwegian dishes with a cozy fireplace. Enjoy the comforting flavors of the founder’s mother’s home cooking. I’m at the bow or the front of the ship. This is “The Explorers Bar”. While enjoying a drink, This lounge offers panoramic views and a cozy atmosphere. Making it a perfect spot for relaxation and enjoying the scenery. And this is “Explorers’ Lounge”. This is a two-level area where you can relax and unwind. There’s a ton of antique goods. Oh. An axe. You’ll find books in various spots around this ship. What is up with this textbook? It’s just words??? On Deck 7, you’ll also find some books here. Books are provided on board so guests can enjoy the quiet luxury of reading. What kinds of books are available? Take a book you like to your room and enjoy it, too. “You wanna come with me, Chaplin-kun?”. It’s the perfect way to spend a peaceful moment before we reach our next port. There is a deck9, but it’s closed due to the weather. It’s 3:20pm. The welcome party will be held here, at the pool. While that’s happening the cruise ship getting really for its departure. Now operated by China Merchants Viking, the ship features Chinese signage and staff. The crew are professional and genuinely kind. Onboard services are still supervised by Viking. The crew member has appeared. Yay. What’s happening right now? I don’t know. Cheers my people, cheers. At 16:00 the cruise ship will depart Yokohama. The ship has safely set sail. Good bye. For like 11 days. 11 days, ohohohoho. As the ship slowly glides out of Yokohama Port, it passes under the majestic Yokohama Bay Bridge. This is kind of scary. We passed under the Yokohama Bay Bridge. We did it. Away we go. The luggage made it safely to my room. It’s time for the room tour! Starting with the bathroom. Open sesame. Wait, the washroom is luxurious. We have a shower. Even comes with a sitting area. Always nice to have…. The toilet. It is a foreign toilet so no bidet. C tier. We have trinity and body lotion. Vanity kit and shower cap. Toothbrush for men. And toothbrush for women??? Lol. What does that even mean? Anyway, cups and A toothbrush holder. Hand soap. Good good, I would’ve died if I didn’t bring soap. A comb and A shaving kit. I don’t see the hair dryer. Where could it be? Drawer one. And No dryer. It’s not here. Second times. Hey, a trash bin. But still no hair dryer. And third. The last drawer. Please… Oh no. It’s over. I’m sad so I’m going to check the water pressure. You passed the test. The shower pressure is quite average I’d say. To the main room. There is a espresso machine, with that pod action stuff. And morning tea stuff. There’s a safe. Did anyone leave their belongings behind in this luxury cruise? Nope. Sad. Fighting stick and. A brush with a lint remover nice. Nice. I found it!! The hair dryer!!! Please be a good one. Braun. Never tired a Braun hair dryer before. I’ll test it out later. The closet. I never understood why there were closets but now I do. It’s great for a trip this long. A sofa that is too close to each other. And. Any things under $18 dollars on this cruise is complimentary. So these drinks should be all free. Thank you to Japanet. There is also a 24-hours room service, all complimentary. Salads. Burgers. Curry rice desserts. All complimentary. Nice nice. Are there any paid services? Anything? Yes, massages and nails are available at extra cost. You can stay perfectly hydrated with this specially designed bottled water. Japanet Water. We get a nice big desk for work. And also a pot. Hmm. A Walky talkie. What’s this? Do you know what this is? Binoculars. Like this. Their are European plugs. But also universal plugs. And on the bed is. Europe and the American type. By the way unlike many other cruise ships, there’s free wifi. It’s fast enough to watch YouTube at 144p. Being able to watch videos even at low resolution is a blessing. The crew came by to drop off the breakfast service. And tomorrows schedule. And other goods including the stamp cards. Now, let’s take a look at the stateroom options. All rooms have a private veranda, ocean view, and calming Scandinavian modern interiors. Veranda Stateroom. The room is 25 square meters. The Deluxe Veranda offers the same size but with extra amenities. Deluxe doesn’t includes these amenities:.
① Coffee machine.
② Blanket.
③ Binoculars. Additionally, the powder room is equipped with floor heating. Penthouse Veranda Stateroom. It’s slightly larger loke at 31 square meters. This room includes everything listed above (①,③), plus: ④ Complimentary pressing and shoe-shine service ⑤ A welcome bottle of champagne. I can live here though. Penthouse Junior Suite. Spacious at 38 square meters. This suite features a partition between the bed and the seating area. In addition to ①,⑤, it also includes: ⑥ Complimentary laundry service. Located on a higher deck, it offers stunning views. The powder room comes with double sinks. Explorer Suite, the most luxurious room. It’s ranging from 70 to 108 square meters, about three times the size of a standard room. It includes all amenities from ① to ⑥. Situated at the bow or stern of the ship, the suite features expansive windows facing south. A large living room, and a separate bedroom. The binoculars are larger. And the room includes a bathtub for relaxing soaks. It’s 7pm now. Tonight I’ll visit the no reservations required “The Restaurant”. It starts with wine. It’s all complimentary so 1 less worry for me. The left is the daily menu. The right is the À la carte menu, available for the entire trip. My predecessor got the tuna salad. A permanent menu dish. I got the tuna tartar. Aka the Malibu Tuna Tower. This is the daily menu. With tuna tartare, avocado, ginger, lime zest; ponzu sauce. I’ll shave off its sides, hope I’m eating this correctly. There’s avocado on the bottom and tuna on the top. Avocado itself tastes like tuna so the two do match. It fits my Japanese tongue. I forgot I had the white wine. Hey, wait a second. It matches well. This is good. Clap clap. My next meal is the main meal. The Pork Tenderloin. Sweet potato, broccolini; apple & calvados sauce. MORE WINE. THIS TIME IT’S RED WINE. My predecessor got the wagyu steak. Looks like a geographical formation. That steak is the regular menu. Maybe I should’ve ordered the steak. My pork looks like unfolded clothes stacked on a chair. Maybe I should’ve ordered the steak. Let’s give it a try. Hmm. Not bad. Tastes like Hotto motto cut steak. The sauce is good. Apple sauce. Viking has always been known for its great food, and it seems the collaboration with Japanet has made the experience even better. I’m glad they actually did. I’m probably a bit tired. This is my dessert. I got the New York cheese cake with STRAWBERRY sauce. Clap clap. Wow I’m actually really tired right now. Though I do regret not ordering the steak, the cheesecake made up for it. Thanks for the food. I’m going to head to the theatre to see what’s up. There’s a live action theatre play. I don’t give myself opportunities to watch live theatre so I’ll give it a try. Theatre conclusion: I cried. Not really but it was fun. There’s breakfast room service so I’ll try that out. I can’t wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow is a sea day. the ship does not stop at any port and continues sailing toward the next destination. Good night. Good morning. We’re on the ship all the day today. We’re heading to Amami Oshima. I think my predecessor when to stretch so here’s a video of him doing so while I rest. Each day there will be a morning exercise. If I join 6 out of the 9, morning exercise, I’ll get a reward. Well I’m still here in my bed but its find. I get stretching tomorrow. Look at rough the waters are. Ubereats arrived. It’s 8:30 now it’s time to eat my breakfast. My predecessor got the Japanese breakfast. There’s rice salmon and even natto. It’s beautiful. I got scrambled eggs. Some banana bread. Juice and milk. And yogurt. Greek yogurt these are expensive. ¥160 for this small thing. The milk is kinda good. If I eat 5000 of these, I can get my moneys worth. Hey, look we’re getting some blue skies. But the waves are insane. Rested well. 11:30 origami event. Well guess I won’t be can create peace to this world. It’s over. Blue skies and pools. I really feels like I’m on a cruise ship. But what’s that smell hmmmmm. There’s a seafood bbq going on. Crab bbq, let’s go. And even lobster? I came to the buffet. The pool side tables are quite busy… Crab. Hmm. Buttery crab. Good news. While I was eating crab. My predecessor has completed the cranes. Peace is restored. I found a pool bar. Everything under $18 is complimentary so… I got myself a Mojito. There was sea urchins as well. It’s getting really hot because of the sun roof. I’m gonna go out to the sundeck and feel the wind. This place would be a good walking course. Unlike yesterday the weather is actually nice. The sea is calm too. I found a mini golf course. There’s too many people here so I’ll go find something else. A ping pong table. What are these? Toothpicks. I don’t know where we are. I can no longer see land unlike the morning. Yes, you can watch the TV. Now that it’s close to 2pm. I’ll head over to the theatre for a special performance from a famous Japanese comedian. The theatre is quite packed. It’s almost 2. I would be able to show you the performance, see you later. My grandpa, who always makes me laugh, once said,
“Making people laugh is no easy task.” Those words carry some real weight. That was so fun. 15:30. Around this time, the ship brings out food and drink samples from the upcoming destination. It’s a small but thoughtful way to build anticipation for what’s next. If you weren’t informed, tomorrow’s destination is Amami Oshima. An island known not just for its tropical beauty, but also for its unique local shochu (spirit). To get us in the spirit (please laugh), there are drink samples onboard from the island. You know. I wasn’t expecting this much variety. There were so many kinds of shochu. That they actually gave me a chart to help figure out which one to try first. Yes, I don’t know much about this stuff. I’ll try the Jougo first. 25% a mellow start before diving into the stronger ones. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. My body is rejecting it out of respect. 30%! Well. They all taste the same. Ahaha. Amami 30%. I might just die here, so… Cheers! I don’t really have the energy to drink all the drinks. But I tried 4 and my conclusion is. They taste like barley juice. The end. I found a nice chill spot. The waves are this calm, yet the magical liquid in my body makes me want to close my eyes. Ah, what a peaceful moment. It’s been event after event, and now there’s an afternoon tea. I think this might be the only one I’ll be able to join, since I’ll be off the ship exploring most afternoons. What drink should I get? Brilliant Breakfast The Original Earl Grey, Single Estate Darjeeling are the recommended. My predecessor got. Cinnamon apple. And I got Peach. The jam isn’t served in the paper cup. You got your scones. Some finger sandwich. And small dessert. I did do my research. You break it into pieces with your hands. And apply the spreads. I learnt there are styles as well. Cornish style: Jam first, then cream. • Devonshire style: Cream first, then jam. So this is the Devonshire style. Cool. Now for the finger sandwiches. Well there you have it. 2 floors completed. Now for the final floor. The dessert tier. I’m getting hungry. I meant full. Well. I did it. Thanks for the food. 18:30. Well. I’m going to relax for sometime. The sun will soon set. I got salt water all over myself. The waves look like they’re moving in slow motion. The water is starting to look like steak. I might be hungry. So I made a visit to the restaurant. Hey the menu did change. There is a lot more beef dishes. Hmm beef tartar. Hmmmm. Hmmm tenderloin steak. Beef tartar. With semi-dried heirloom cherry tomato, focaccia crostini, truffle butter. Is being stepped on my a piece of edible branch. And the taste. It tastes hamburgers. Because there’s pickles mixed into the tartar. The meal tastes like a McDonald’s hamburger. I didn’t know I would be able to tastes the one of the greatest burger in history of burgers. Beef tenderloin, mushroom, Potato Dauphinoise; cognac & Worcestershire sauce. Fork. Knife. No no. Chopstick. Not just for the aesthetics but for practicality. i can film and eat at the same time. I did eventually. Use the knife. Something has arrived. It’s the moon. Crème brûlée. Wow. Guys, this milk is amazing. Thanks for the food. Wait a second. There’s a laundry. This is very important for trips as long as. And it’s kinda close to my room which is a plus. Both dish washer and dryer. It’s free to use. I’m back. Look at that. The bed is made. Look at that. Even the cables. Nice. Tomorrow’s itinerary. It seems like they create the daily updates on this ship every day by Japnet and Viking. It will be from Amami Oshima. It’s the largest island between Okinawa and Kyushu. It’s know for its blue ocean and beautiful beaches. There is an optional tour from around noon that I chose before boarding the ship. There are free activities and paid activities. Mangrove canoeing. It’s going to be my first time in Amami Oshima so I’m pretty excited. I’m going to sleep. Good night. Good morning. My predecessor went to morning execise. We will be in Amami Oshima today. My predecessor takes over for breakfast. Breakfast will be held at the at deck 7. I was expecting it to be a buffet. But it looks like it’s like a semi order restaurant. I ordered the waffles. Looks good. My predecessor got a waffle. GUYS WHAT IT THAT? IS THAT A DOLPHIN?? CONGRATS. Good morning, I can hear the waves. I’m going back to sleep. I’m completely hopeless against morning drowsiness. 11:00am. I can see something. An island. It’s the Galápagos of the East, Amami Big Islands. It’s a very special island because its home to many species found nowhere else on Earth. There are rabbits that looks like a big rat that diverged from other rabbit species millions of years ago. Sounds exciting. We’re back at the pool. The water is calm today. I missed out on breakfast completely. But it looks like there’s a redemption arc. Thanks, I was craving some rice. While I was eating rice balls. We made it! First destination of the trip! Amami Oshima. Clap clap clap clap clap. And just like that we made it. It’s not like the island is uninhabited. 70000 people live on Amami Ōshima. In fact, there are even nationally known convenience stores. Albeit only 4 of them. I will be joining tour 1. We’re first heading to Amami city for a ocal chicken rice lunch for approx. 60 min. This is Amami’s famous chicken rice dish, Keihan. There’s a colorful array of ingredients. a cozy taste of local tradition. Hey, the broth is nice. Thanks for the food. 1 2 3 mart is that like a convenience store? Hey, I had this drink yesterday. Now we are heading to… This place. Looks beautiful. Look at that clearly of the ocean. Well, its cloudy. June weathe=rainy season. It is a miracle it is not raining. The nearby Amami Marine Exhibition Hall features displays of sea turtles. Tropical fish, and other marine life. Weather is not so good. But I can tell its blue. There’s dead coral around the beach. I found something that travelled all the way from China. Crossing the East China Sea. China is actually only 700km away. The Island is closer to China than to Tokyo. I thought I saw it move. There’s a clam inside. !?!?!?!? Its my first time seeing a hermit crab!!! Very cool. What is this red pineapple? Apparently it’s… A screw pine. Older generations may recall using it in survival situations or as emergency food. Looks like corn smells like plum. I would like to eat it if I didn’t have 9 days of cruising left. I’m spending a lot of time on this beach. The reason being the aquarium doesn’t open until 3 PM. I had so much free time, I bought Ice cream. Now we’re inside Amami aquarium. Cool, there are turtles here. We can feed the turtles. Giving them lettuce or cabbage whichever it is. It is the only herbivorous sea turtle, feeding mainly on seaweed and seagrass. Whale bone is quite hollow it’s quite light. That’s the guy from Mario. Living leaf. Hey, it’s the guy from pokemon. Another evolved hermit crab. A sleeping seahorse. It’s the guy from Nemo. Let’s head to the next destination. Miyakozaki, a Scenic Promontory Overlooking the East China Sea. Chosen as the filming location for the opening scene of a Japanese historical drama. Miyakozaki is a cape that juts into the East China Sea. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the sea and sky. Beautifully contrasted with the wild-growing Ryukyu bamboo. What in the tropical jungle is this? It’s 24 degrees but because of the humidity. It’s pretty hot. Cool views even in this weather. Looks like a good spot to hide people. Well, this is the view. It took about 40 minutes to get here! The path isn’t paved, so its quite dangerous. We are nearly running out of time, almost all the tour people gave up half way. We went all the way there. Look a family mart. 1 of the 4 Family Marts in Amami. And we’re back. That was a quick 5 hours. I bought some brown sugar shochu as a souvenir. There are farewell ceremonies during the depatures. They’ve been dancing for 20 minutes now. Thank you very much for your wonderful performance. The words “Please come again” filled my heart. Yes, I’ll be back. Today I’m here visiting the World Cafe buffet. Pretty nice food all around. I got lamb chops. Shrimp and salad. There’s was even a seafood bowl. Crab and clam mussel as well. There was better crab at the other side of the buffet. Finders keepers. Losers weepers. I thought the hair on the crab would be hard. Buts it’s soft. How do I even eat this. Thank god, crabs were sea creatures. Because I would not eat anything like this if it were crawling on land. Since it’s like a sauna in here during the day. It’s quite warm even after sunset. It’s like sunbathing without the sun. Feeling sleepy. It getting sucked into the chair. Well. Good night. I woke up to find myself. There was a sample of King of sweet potato Anno potato available today. Just like yesterdays brown sugar shochu, this potato is the holy grail of its kind. Let’s give it a try. Hmm. Sweet sweet potato. 1872. Other than the bar, this place is used for band performances and for karaoke. It’s before 12 so I’ll get the Cinderella. I don’t know if that’s the intention. My predecessor is trying out the Mori Izo and the Mao. There are also other legendary drinks to choose from. Maō and Mori Izo are two of Japan’s most legendary and highly sought-after imo shōchū. With production so limited, they’re typically distributed only by lottery. Available exclusively aboard the Japanet Cruise. It’s NOT a joke! The show has started. Apparently they come all the way from Argentina. Look at them, they are dancing! Amazing, these elderly are young. How are these people dancing while going on a day tour. I’m tired to my bones. Ready to sleep. Checking the schedule for tomorrow. Tanegashima. Another island located about 300km away. Our tour starts 9… 9:30??? Oh no, so early… I must sleep now. Good day. Good night. Today, we’re landing on Tanegashima. On the map, it’s right here. The morning exercises are done for today. But now let’s head over to the stamp rally. I rushed over because it’s the last day of the stamp rally. By following the sequence. It looks like we can make a beautiful pattern. Wait, is this right? I wonder how it will turn out. And last one… Oh my. The space passport of Tanegashima makes for a great souvenir! Good morning. We’ve arrived in Tanegashima. It’s located 300km north of Amami Oshima where we explored yesterday. The island is known for launching rockets. It also happens to be the first place in Japan where guns first came ashore. Today’s tour is a long 8 hours. Tanegashina it’s quite long. A 450㎢ island with a population of 33,000 million people?! Like yesterday, we’ll have lunch before the tour. Nice venue. Here is the lunch. Local seafood including flying fish. Potato?!?! Black pork for Kagoshima prefecture. I dont know. It’s like konjac. Is it really potato? It’s pretty nice. It’s too much food but all tasted great! 1 of the 4 Family Marts on the island!!! We’re heading to Tanegashima Space Center. An establishment of JAXA (Japanese NASA.). Well this looks cool. Otatsu-Metatsu Rocks. It’s got 204 reviews on google maps. Not rockets but cool enough. A sweet potato farm I think. After WWII, Japanese soldiers returning from northern Indonesia brought back sweet potato plants. Unique sweetness and texture led to the development of what is now known as Annō-imo. I had samples of the potato yesterday. Before the space center is a visit to a local market. This looks cool. Potato chips. Look at that. Do astronauts even eat this stuff or is it just souvenirs? There’s even space onigiri. They’re putting space ____ on anything at this point. Now heading to the south most part of the island. Cape Kadokura. This is where the Portuguese ship docked 450 years ago. This was the first official contact between the Portuguese and the Japanese. Revolutionizing wars, leading to faster unification of Japan. And a small sacred forests that cannot be entered. Now heading to the space center. Finally. We made it. The space center. It’s usually closed on Mondays but opened exclusively for the tour. When you take a look at the inner parts. It looks like a ball point pen. I’m at the souvenir shop. This is the best selling space food in the shop. Space Takoyaki. Lol. Space certified water. They’re selling planet ice cream. I’m not sure if it’s legit, but they’re selling the sun. Now heading to the launch site/rocket garage. Everything here are real components of a rocket. Looks like a hi-tech vase. Our next destination is the Chikura Iwaya Cave. There’s literally a dead fish here. Probably it couldn’t return to the ocean. Feels bad. Chikura no Iwaya, spacious enough to accommodate up to 1,000 people. The beach is filled with iron and you can tell. It’s just different from the beach we went yesterday. I’m glad I can walk with sandals. I would cry if I got water inside my shoes. We are the caves. It’s like the windows Lock screen. It really was close to 8 hours. We’re back at the port. Today’s souvenir. It’s 7pm now. At least, it’s no longer raining. Because there well be a farewell matchlock firearm event. I made it on time. Hmm, how does it look? Woah woah woah. Honestly, I’d be so surprised, if a foreigner showed up with a gun like this… And my hands would go up instantly. It’s your once in 2 days laundry time. All part of the plan. It’s 7pm now. I’m getting tired of having dinner with my predecessor so I’m going… To the restaurant while he heads to the cafe. I’ll have a beautiful complimetary wine. Recommended is the Salmon Tiradito starter. The Sautéed Sable Fish main, and the Coconut Surprise dessert. I’m glad the cauliflower steak wasn’t recommended. I would have doubted the chef. That looks good. Apparently. HAHAHAHAHAHA. THAT WAS THE CALIFLOWER. HAHAHAHAHA. Wait a second. Fish is PRETTY GOOD. Coconut Surprise. Well, it’ll be a suprise if this ground beef looking beef was not beef. (It was like cereal.). Thanks for the beautiful meal. There’s a dance from 9pm. Guess, I’ll visit. It’s started. Oh my. How are these people dancing? I’m officially tired just by standing. Ahahah. Pretty woman. NICE. I am not good at dancing but good at washing my hands. I feel like brushing my teeth. I want to eat that yogurt in the morning. I’ll get Greek yogurt x2. I’ll sleep here today. See you in tomorrow. We’ve arrived in Nagasaki, one of the most historically rich and unique cities in Japan. Today, we will experience a mini version of Nagasaki’s largest festival, which is normally held only in October. Thanks to Japanet, we have the chance to enjoy it today. Hmmmm. Where’s my yogurt. ??? It’s my first time here in Nagasaki. I was supposed to go here 3 years ago but the train malfunctioned. I’m excited. First destnation is Suwa Shrine. This is Dejima. The only place in the country officially open to foreigners for trade, mainly with the Portuguese and Dutch. This international influence gave the city the highest percentage of Christians in Japan today, about four to five percent. Christianity started gaining influence in Nagasaki, which worried the Japanese authorities. In 1614, Japan banned Christianity, and that same year, A Shrine was founded to counteract the spread of Christianity in Nagasaki. This is the Shrine, Suwa shrine. It is now the most important shrine in Nagasaki. It hosts Nagasaki’s biggest festival, the Nagasaki Kunchi, every October. It is an autumn festival that blends exotic flair with traditional and powerful performances, a true symbol of Nagasaki. A bold and vibrant traditional event where sacred rituals meet high-energy entertainment, uniquely Nagasaki. Today, as a Japanet Exclusive, were going to be enjoying their mini Nagasaki Kunchi. This performance is typically not included in the Nagasaki Kunchi Festival; it is usually part of the Nagasaki Lantern Festival. It’s a famous Chinese performance art. Similar to the Portuguese, Nagasaki was the only place in Japan where Chinese merchants were permitted to reside and conduct trade. Symbolizes the blending of cultures and the unique identity of Nagasaki as a port of international exchange. This is the iconic performance of the event. The dragon dance. It was introduced by Chinese residents of Nagasaki during the Edo period and is now a signature festival highlight. What are they throwing around? I wanted one. No words needed, just take in the power of this performance. Where am I? Wait what? not in China?? That was amazing, thank you very much. Looks like there’s a curious little place up ahead. Money Washing Well. According to local legend, washing your money in the spring water from this well is said to double its value. Dang. It actually worked. Bro I’m going to be rich. 🤑. Huh? Wahhhh. It turned into a 5000 yen. Guys, don’t be greedy. The price of the fortune paper is 200 yen. Ahhhh. Even if my money doubles. Everything else doubles. It’s all the same. A learning for inflation I guess. I will call this shrine. The inflation shrine from now on. I bought an amulet with the money I doubled. It’s basically free. I bought the happiness charm because I need it. Our next destination is approximately a 10-minute walk from JR Nagasaki Station. I received coupons that I can use in the facility. It looks like it can be used at all of these stores. Japanet’s multi-purpose complex, Nagasaki Stadium City. It’s built around a football stadium but designed to be much more than just a stadium area. When the stadium when not in use, it is opened for the public. FOR FREE. Wait, that’s so genius. It’s basically acts as a food court and a resting place in the middle of the city. I’m going to use the 2000 yen coupon. I can’t go wrong with Nagasaki Chanpon. Hahah, it’s too popluar. I can even access the seats for free (what the heck this is cool.). Using the 2000yen. I will get some local speciality. I got the Sasebo Burger. It’s huge. Wait a second hahahaha. It’s so good, hahahaha. Now comes the pork bun(Kakuni man). This is also a specialty. This kakuni man even hides an egg in the center, as is the local style. The prices are quite reasonable when you consider it’s stadium food. It’s different, but it’s delicious in its own way. I rememberd buying a stale burger with no condiments for 6 pounds in UK. (Filming from here is with special permission from Japanet.) That up there is the hotel. Imagine the views from up there. Now I’m at the hotel I was viewing from below. This area is accessible to hotel guests on the game days. Oh yes. Those are some nice views. Bird eye view of the stadium. With floor 6 being very special area. The stadium for my local football club is a joke compared to this. Hey a pool, are you kidding me? What the heck is this? This stadium should not belong to a tier 2 football club. It’s official. Why is this place better than the cruise I’m on? Sauna is over looking the field as well. Tier 2 club 😭😭😭😭 ain’t no wayyy. Haha, there’s even an onsen. Yes, this puts 99% of stadiums to shame. This is too good to be true. Apparently the hotels are bookable for under ¥20,000/p on off days. And now for the finale is the zip line. ¥2,500. Dad, I’ll be watching your brave moment from here. Someone might just say, “What a shame… he was a good guy.” Oh well. Life is all about timing. and he survived. We’re back to the opened to public area and. I made it to the upper deck of the stadium. I can see our Viking Cruise from here clearly. What in the world. How much did it cost to build this place. There’s a foot bath. We’re back at the ship. 7:20pm. Hey the other cruise ship is gone. Thanks Nagasaki. When you look at this angle only. It doesn’t even look like Japan. The dragon looks pretty tame without any music and movement. It’s like a rehearsal lol. I don’t think I should laugh but this is too funny. Expectations. Reality. LOL. Thanks so much, dragon team. The ship sails away from the dock. Nagasaki. I liked the burger. Overstimulated in the best way possible. Hip hip hooray to Nagasaki! It’s not raining out so I got the outdoor seat. I can see the moon today. I feel like I’m finally settling in. 5th night. The Nagasaki skyline. It’s beautiful. Perfect wind, weather and temperature. It was a good day. Another day another sample. We’re going to Jeju South Korea Tommorow. It’s famous for its oranges. Tomorrow we’ll wake up in the harbor of Jeju island. 300km away. Wowza were already half way through the trip. That was fast. Good night. Woke up late for the first time. Soon arriving to Jeju Island. Right now, we’re around here on the map. Todays morning event is the mizuhiki keychain making. It looks easy, but it was pretty harder thatn I expectd. I maganad to tie it. Yes, I made it!. No greek yogurt today. I am heading to the buffet fast. I AM GOING TO CRY. Wow, we made it to a different country. South Korea, clap clap clap clap. It’s been 2 years almost since I’ve been here. In search for yogurt I head to the explorers bar. Oh look a cleaning person. There was also a cleaning person. I better get going now. This milk is like cream. I’ll head back to my room to grab my passport. It’s almost noon, so it’s the daily cleaning hour. Thank you very much. We made it to the first and last foreign country of this trip. Jeju Island, South Korea. Jeju Island is a volcanic island located about 85 km south of mainland South Korea. Accessible by a 1-hour flight from Seoul or a 2.5,4 hour ferry ride. And is renowned for its unique local culture, and UNESCO-listed natural sites. I got an orange-flavored snack. Oranges, like pineapples in Hawaii, are Jeju’s most famous agricultural products. Wow, this bus is flamboyant. You know we’re in Korea when the cars are fully tinted. This island is unique not only for its beauty but for how it is governed. The entire island of Jeju functions like a giant duty-free zone. Because of its special self-governing status. Allowing even domestic Korean travelers to shop tax-free without leaving the country. A rare privilege almost unheard of elsewhere in the world. Even though South Korea is close to Japan. The pavements on the road are different. Because of the volcanic features of this island. There is an abundance of porous basalt rocks used for walls and even houses. Their holes let wind pass through, which is perfect for Jeju’s windy climate. The three little pigs should’ve used this material. Maybe they do use it in the Korean version of the story. Since the brick house was the only one that stood. Anyways, we made it to the seafood restaurant for lunch. Before the meal are the appetizers inclduing kimchi. Rice must have been rare since it cannot be grown on this island. A seafood hot pot. There is a lot of ingredients inside. Ttukbaegi It’s a thick. Black earthenware bowl commonly used in Korean cooking, especially on Jeju Island. Shrimp crab shellfish. And abalone. Hmm, there’s some abalone and shrimp inside it. oh wow! Thank you for the korean meal. Now heading to THAT. This is the Seongsan Ilchulbong. Seongsan Ilchulbong is a volcanic cone located on the eastern tip of Jeju. It was formed about 5,000 years ago. It rises 182 meters (about 600 feet) above sea level and features a massive crater at the top. In 2007, it was designated as part of the UNESCO. Looks like these moai like statues are built from basalt rocks as well. The tour doesn’t include the climb but it does walk you to the scenic walking route. Oh wow, look at that. A stunning scenery. No wonder they call it the Hawaii of Korea. There is a hike to the top of the volcanic cone. There are about 500 steps up and 600 down. There’s still time left, about 50 minutes so let’s climb it. It’s 5000 won per person. Well. There’s a hill with no steps. My legs are getting scammed. After 3 minutes. My first step. And it’s a long one. I hope I make it back on time. A few dozen steps in and there was a souvenir shop. I bought a hat and sunglasses. We all made it up here together! It was a rather easy climb. The stairs are well maintained. It was more like climbing stairs than hiking. And this is the summit. There’s a crater. Reaching the top, definitely lifted my spirits as well. Now lets descend. The ocean might be the bluest ocean I’ve seen. Wait,it’s a roof. The cruise will set at 5:00 pm. Before the ship sails I’ll go score a hole in one. A hole in one. I don’t know how this stuff works. Observe the skills that rivaled tiger woods. Skills that skills that rivaled. Rivaled. Tiger Woods. Please invite me to the next Masters. Good bye South Korea. Good bye, Jeju island. A really beautiful spot, I’m glad I came. My next destination will be shimonoseki. The pufferfish city. From 4:30 pm. There will be a special concert from a famous artist. Yes, that’s right,he’s the opera singer Masafumi Akikawa. Not only his voice, but also his stories about his father and son made the concert truly captivating. Well, that was pretty great. The incredible singing reminded me of my late grandmother. Thank you very much. At the Buffet. The sun is about to set so I’ll bathe myself in sunset. Hey there’s beer. And, it’s japanet beer. There’s a different type of buffet. It’s the Haaland place. Is this caviar? I think it’s special today because there’s. Literally caviar on this dish. Wow. I got clam chowder. Some ham and cheese for the vibes. Wow. Isn’t it beautiful. On the 5 day we get to see the sunset. The sunset is remarkable. We experienced a ton of poor weather but today. We did it. Its like those sunset you see in african savanna documentarys. Apparently this is an annual thing? The Viking cruise by japanet will sail again in 2026. One around Japan. And one traveling to wast Japan. It even came with a coupon. ¥30,000 off. For those who can spend on such cruise. Is ¥30,000 spare change or can they ride this cruise because they value money? Who knows. Today’s sample is the Dassai. A premium Japanese sake brand from the prefecture we’re heading to tomorrow. There are grades in Sake and Dassai falls into the S-tier. Junmai daiginjo tier, the highest tier of sake. It becomes more smaller as it becomes more refined. Apparently the inner core is mostly starch, which creates cleaner, smoother, and more elegant sake. Good to know. We get to try out their sparkling sake and the non alcoholic amazake. Cheers AED kit. I need food with sake. Good thing I found coffee pudding. Coffee jelly tastes like coffee jelly. And the coffee sweet bean jelly tastes like dorayaki. Good night. Good morning. We are back to Japan. Our next destination is a port city at the southwestern tip of Honshu, Japan. Known for its fresh fugu (pufferfish), and its role in the end of the samurai era. Shimonoseki. The outside deck gets a clean in the morning, the floor is still wet. 7:00! Everyone is alive and well. Today I will finally eat yogurt for the 2nd time on this trip. It’s my 7th day on the cruise. There’s actually a bunch of food here. I can’t imagine myself eating bread or rice from the early hours. My life is complete. I found something. What. A sombrero plate? Not the greek yogurt i wanted but this will do for now. Doesn’t look appetizing to be honest. I havent applied sunscreen yet so im in danger. We’re back in Japan. I met a pufferfish person. I feel bad for the other guy i don’t think there’s air conditioning inside. What a great day. A sunny day. We’re first heading to a Temple. Kozanji Temple in Shimonoseki is a peaceful Zen site with deep historical weight. Kozanji Temple represents two major turning points in Japanese history. It was the birthplace of the revolution that propelled Japan into the modern era. And it also marks the introduction of Zen Buddhism from China. Which deeply influenced Japanese culture. This is the main temple. It’s one of the oldest surviving examples of Zen temple architecture in Japan. Built in the Kamakura period (13th century). A time when Zen Buddhism was just starting to spread across the country. Kyushu is only 700 meters away! It’s probably swimmable until you realise that it’s a vital shipping lane with over 700 vessels passing daily. You’ll become mince meat if you tried to pass this route by swimming. I’ve heard there is a Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel beneath it to walk across the two islands. Lunch time. Shimonoseki grand hotel. Here is my Lunch, composed of puffer fish and many other foods. Oh no, it’s whale meat. There is SO MUCH FOOD. Rest in peace, whale and my comment section which. Is going to get bombarded with comments like the sharkfin soup. Please forgive me. First time eating whale. To conclude. Whale tastes like liver. The pufferfish tasted like a normal fish. Thanks for the food. I still have time to explore the city. There is a famous island not too far from the pier. Ganryu Island. I will head there alone. I’m getting tired of having to travel around with my daddio. Finally, some alone time. The next boat departs in 20 minutes. I still have time. I’ll head to Karato Market. Karato Market is famous for its fresh sushi sold directly by local vendors. It’s weekend seafood stalls packed with variety. And it has a long-standing reputation as the go-to spot for tasting Shimonoseki’s iconic fugu. It’s a weekday, so it’s quite quiet. There is a pufferfish, but I’ve already had some for lunch. What’s inside this place. Not pufferfish. Now is a good time to set sail to Ganryu island/. Historically significant as the site of the legendary duel between two renowned swordsmen, Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojirō. There is literally no one here. Hey look at that. I found a Pikachu. To be fair, there isn’t much you can do here. Hmmmm. Ok, let’s go. Heading back now. Now heading to Akama shrine. Akama Shrine is known for its striking vermilion gate and for enshrining Emperor Antoku. A child emperor who drowned in the legendary Battle. What kind of country makes a 8-year-old an emperor? 😭😭. You can send your items back home. Time to relax and listen to music is good too. I came back to my room and got a nice nap. I woke up quite early, so it was good to get some rest. The guy’s enjoying himself in the pool, it looks like such a great time. Thanks for the farewell event! He must be fit. I wonder how weigh the flag is… There’s a brass band. And some blue people. The sound of the crowd mild as we stray further into the journey. 4 more days to go. I’m back. What is this? It’s a cleaning day tomorrow, thanks for reminders. Today I’m finally visiting one of the reservation restauarants. I’m at the chefs table. Today we will experience a 5 course meal. The meal is inspired by the historic spice trade. With wine pairing. Very fancy. Even the premium wine is included for this trip. (nice.). Tommasi le Rosse Pinot Grigio delle Venezie, Italy. The bread arrives. It’s like a piece of corn. The taste? curry. And it tastes great. The Amuse is the Carrot and Cardamom Cream. It looks like a dessert. Cardamom is the 3rd most expensive spice in the world. I don’t think I’ve ever had Cardamom before. Hmm, it’s like ginger but milder. The next wine arrives. Baron Longo Hoheinstein Gewürztraminer, Italy. The next meal arrives/. Spicy seared tuna with sichuan pepper, coriander, sesame oil, and vegetable pickles. Wait a second. What is this? Maybe its the silk road. who knows. Dinner is tasty so far. I thought it was soft. I completely forgot it was tuna. This is the Ginger and Tarragon Palate Cleanser. Palate Cleanser??? I’ve never had Palate Cleanser as a meal. cool. It’s sorbet ice. I’ve had ginger before but not tarragon. Tarragon, sounds strong. Under the Kanmon Bridge. -PREMIUM PAIRING- Francis Ford Coppola Zinfandel, USA. Here is the main course. Beef filet and the four spices. Ok look at the perfectly cooked steak. I’m getting a faint smell of spices hmm. Holy moly. A blend of Spanish paprika, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon are infused into the beef. Ok this is good. The beef is amazing I kinda want more if I could. Spicies can change good meat to great meat. The dessert is apple tarte Tatin style. Great course with spices I’ve never had before. A kickstarter for my spice journey. Thanks for the food. Finally reuniting with greek yogurt. Good night. Good morning. Day 7…it’s 8. We left Shimonoseki yesterday, and right now we’re around here. We’ll soon arrive to Matsuyama in Ehime, one of the 4 prefectures in Shikoku. We’re arriving at Matsuyama City. It is the capital of Ehime Prefecture and the largest city on Shikoku Island. It is the neighboring prefecture to Kagawa, where the Sunrise Seto sleeper train terminates. This prefecture, like Jeju Island, is known for its oranges. There are even legends that in Ehime chools, orange juice flows from the taps. Ight be a legend, might not be a legend. Matsuyama is also home to Japan’s oldest public onsen, Dōgo Onsen. According to legend, It has been used for 3,000 years, long before the Japanese language existed. Today, we’re going to head to Dogo Onsen and bathe in the oldest public hot spring in Japan. Today is deep cleaning day. Even the balcony is getting cleaned. Good morning. We’ve arrived in Matsuyama. I received complimentary tickets for admission to the three renowned bathhouses at Dogo Onsen. I’ve heard that the water is hotter than in a typical bath, so I’m a bit scared. The hotel has been in operation for nearly 400 years and has even hosted emperors. Today is more of a free day to spend on my own. L was simply given the tickets. And just need to return to this hotel in time for lunch. Where should I head first? Another day, another shrine. There are actually more Shinto shrines than convenience stores in Japan. Wow. Over a thousand years ago, it’s said the Royal family visited Dōgo’s legendary hot spring. And in their honor, Isaniwa Shrine rose near these healing waters. The most memorable part of the shrine is the stairs. 135 STEPS. That is the most famous main building of Dōgo Onsen. The main building is only 100 years old and. After five years of restoration, fully reopen since 2024. The hot spring water was quite hot, so I only bathed for a short time, but I felt great. After a great bath, you can’t go wrong with a glass of milk. Fun fact: After a sauna in Finland, it’s common to drink beer. In Turkey, it’s sweet tea or sherbet after a hammam. In Russia, kvass or herbal tea is served after a banya. Only in Japan is milk the classic post-bath drink. I went to the bathroom and look what I found. A $2000 S-tier toilet. Impressive! Royal throne. Clap clap clap clap clap clap. I still had some time to walk through the shopping arcades of Dogo Onsen. Towels are famous here as well. (Is it because of the hot spring? I don’t know.). I found an orange juice shop. There’s a family tree for these oranges. Wait, do they really serve orange juice from the tap? So it’s not just a myth? Hahaha, this is so cool. I’ll give it a try later in the day. This is supposedly a famous clock. A large mechanical clock that opens up to reveal moving figurines. Interesting. It’s already better than the steam clock from Vancouver. I’m going to be a little late for lunch, but this experience is worth it. Ok gotta hurry for lunch time. We’re back at the hotel. That’s a long list of food. There might be more food than yesterday’s lunch. ??? More food lol. Wagyu wagyu. Oh wow, as expected from a well-established restaurant, the lunch was excellent. After a good lunch. Orange juice. Look at all this orange juice. This shop offers over 20 varieties of orange juice, each made from a different type of orange. In Matsuyama, mikan juice isn’t just a drink. It’s practically a cultural treasure. I wanted to try 3 varieties. I chose the two most popular orange juices, as well as the least popular one. Kiyomi. Good orange juice. Natsumi. Good orange juice. Blood Orange Juice. Good orange juice. Blood > Natsumi > Kiyomi. I left a small amount of each to create my own “Frankenstein” orange juice. Still good orange juice. I still had a bit of time left, so I explored further into the city to visit a castle. The castle in front of us is Matsuyama Castle. It is one of the twelve original castles in Japan that are still standing today. One of the rare castles that has never been taken by force in battle. Well, I’ll try and raid it myself. It’s easy to raid the castle. All I have to do is pay a few hundred yen. This place is pretty relaxing. Most gave up because of the walls, I gave up because of the schedule. Sadly, giving up like a samurai from 400 years ago. Same place, same fate, different reason. Goodbye, Matsuyama Castle, and goodbye, Matsuyama. Going back to the cruise now. Good bye. Now where heading to the kendama contest. The goal is to catch the ball on the cups or spike in various combinations. While it sounds simple. Wait I might be kinda good at this. Wait what. Let’s go blue team wins! I am the MVP of the current Viking cruise by Japanet’s? The kendama top scorer?? Today, we have a super special event today, a Japanet exclusive concert. Mr. Hiroshi Itsuki. A renowned traditional Japanese artist. So. There’s a line? What in the world? This Itsuki person might be a bit famous not gonna lie. There’s still 30 minutes until the concerts even starts. Clearly, he’s no ordinary man. His singing and guitar playing were just so cool. It must be a great memory of this cruise. Sorry, Mr. Itsuki. Even I didn’t know one song he sang, my father enjoyed the concert so much. Thank you so much, Itsuki-san and Japanet-san! What I do know is that there’s a special event at the Buffet. Tonight’s Special Event. “Taste of Mediterranean”. Deck 7 at World Café. As expected, there are a lot of people crowded together. What the heck! There’s a parmersean wheel. Mussel. Hey, that looks good. Hahaha, I love these dishes. I got what ever this fish dish. Here’s my dinner. Looks good. Wait, the pasta is so good. Our 9pm sample section is Somen. It’s a Japanese light noodle dish with light soy based broth. Yes, somen is indeed famous in Tokushima, particularly the variety known as Handa. For over 250 years and is a significant part of Tokushima’s culinary heritage. Today’s laundry check. Someone was inside. The laundry could get really crowded. Alright, Alright, I’m crashing. Loved the hot spring, and Matsuyama Castle, I’m coming for you! Good night. Good morning. We’re now at the other side of Shioku Island. Tokushima Prefecture. It is often regarded as the most forgotten prefecture on Shikoku Island. The Delaware of Shikoku prefecture. Although the prefecture itself is often overlooked, it is home to several famous attractions. Including the Naruto whirlpools and the Awa Odori dance festival. The buffet does not offer my favoriter Greek yogurt. However, there are rumors that Greek yogurt is available at the restaurant on the second floor. Let’s find out. There is a set meal like the morning Uber eats delivery. The restaurant appears to be a good place to start the day. As it is not as busy as the buffet. And. YAY!!!!! Not only one but also… 3. Good morning from the leaning tower of Greek yogurt. ????? And my predecessor somehow came over. He ordered the Japanese menu. Mixed some Natto. And left. There are weird things that can happen in the morning. Maybe I should wake up early more often… We are currently heading to the Famous whirpool area now. But before that it’s lunch time. And this is our lunch place. AoAwo Naruto Resort. The hotel is built right next to the beach so the views are nice if there is a view. It’s cloudy there’s no real view. This buffet has. A lot of food. Tempura. Seafood. Very elderly friendly food. We are now at Japan’s famous Naruto Whirlpool. This natural phenomenon inspired the pink spiral design seen in ramen fishcakes. Which in turn inspired the name of the famous ninja protagonist. We’re going to ride the ship and see the whirlpool up close. The whirlpools are huge, 20 metres in diameter. A that’s about the size of a basketball court spinning on the ocean’s surface. The whirlpools are large enough to be seen clearly from the shore. Whirlpool already!?!? Just kidding, it’s the engine. The previously calm waters have become unusually turbulent. You can hear the tide churning before you even see it. Then suddenly. Like someone just pulled a giant invisible plug. The dramatic tidal differences between the Seto Inland Sea and the Pacific Ocean creates the whirlpools. There’s this huge whirlpool forming now, maybe 10 meters wide. The ocean is breathing. Holy moly, big toilet. You come across restrooms where the water appears blue. It’s that, but in a bigger scale. Thrilling and dynamic experience. Good stuff. I returned to the cruise, and as a farewell ceremony. There was a mini Awa Odori dance performance. This serves as a preview of the festival that takes place every August. It’s a great way to experience a bit of the excitement in advance. We don’t get to see the welcome party. We can now check out of the cruise to check the dance at close range. OH MY GOODNESS. Incredible. Just so beautiful. Thank you so much and see you people in Tokushima. Today I booked the Italian restaurant. BUT. BUT BUT BUT. The buffet’s special is steak and lobster. There’s no way I could pass this up. These buffet specials are pretty cool. Sampled lobster, and now I’m ready to enjoy a full meal at the Italian restaurant. “Manfredi’s” Italian Restaurant. Let’s start off with the challenge. First off, Champagne. Here is the Insalata Caprese, the appetizer. Is the Green part the Insalata? What is insalata anyway? Pretty normal. Next up, soup. I got the cream di Funghi e crostin, AKA, Mushroom soup. Looks like that one dirt block from minecraft. The Pasta. Linguine ai Gameri. Lobster?!?! My stomach is 70% full. I hope my next meal isn’t… Oh no…. This is literally a party tray. (LOL). I traded with my predecessor of the Viking Bistecca. This was the best part of the meal. It tastes like no other steak I’ve had, it’s smoky. We arrived late for the dance party 9:45pm. The dance party still on going. This is the last dance session on the cruise ship. We’ll miss this. It was a very nice day. Good night. Good morning. It’s the last full day on the Viking Cruise. From Tokushima, Naruto🍥. Today we’re headed to Japan’s spiritual capital, Ise. The big draw here is the Ise Grand Shrine, which is the most important shrine in the country. Pilgrims have been visiting it for over a thousand years. The port in Ise apparently cannot accommodate the cruise ship. How will we disembark? According to my search. Unlike regular disembarkation, we will be using “tender boats.” (Sounds tasty). Last morning strech. 8 out of 9 morning streches. not bad. Great streches = great rewards. I don’t remember this being Ise. I don’t remember having islands like this. These are the orange boats attached to the sides of the cruise ship. I always thought those boats were only used in emergencies. It seems like we’ll be docking at Ise Bay on this boat. Thank you. This is pretty cool. Since there’s no port to dock the ship, it will stay here while we’re gone. The cruise ship is just floating in the middle of the bay. We’re going to head to the Ise Grand Shrine. As explained before, it’s the most important shrine in Japan. With connections to the Japanese Emperor. It’s the shrine of Japanese Shintoism. It draws around 6 million visitors annually, including large numbers of traditional pilgrims. Ise Shirine has 2 important locations, Inner and outer. Our first visit is the outer shrine. The outer Shrine honors Toyouke Ōmikami, the goddess of food, agriculture, and industry. The main shrine buildings at Ise Grand Shrine are completely rebuilt every 20-years. When it’s time to rebuild, a brand-new main shrine is constructed right beside the existing one. The old shrine is carefully dismantled. And some of the material will be used for shrines around Japan. Now we depart the outer shrine and move to the inner shrine and Okage Yokocho. The shrine itself isn’t really within the outer shrine but is 5km apart. This is considered the main one. We made it to the Inner Shrine. Shinto religion: It is dedicated to Amaterasu Ōmikami, the sun goddess and a mythological figure. Ancestor of the Imperial Family. This wooden bridge is the 62nd version. And it will be replaced again during the next 20-year cycle. One of the most remarkable aspects of Ise Grand Shrine is that the entire complex is. Situated deep within ancient forests, with rivers flowing beside the Inner Shrine. There’s no apple around here but I did find the core of the shrine. No smell like sewers like in Tokyo here. The wind, the trees, even the ground… something is mystrious. It was cloudy when I got here but the sun is out. Maybe I have powers? Here is Okage Yokocho market. My predecessor went to a udon shop. Btw, I am Solo Solo Dad. Udon here is quite famous. Ise udon. Let’s try it out. It looks rich, but it’s actually quite light. Thanks for the food. Now that we finished visiting the shrine. It’s time for lunch. Gyudon. I think I went here on my previous trip to Ise. I think I visited this exact restaurant last year. It’s not like it’s a famous meal here but I kinda wanted it. Here it is. The beef bowl hasn’t changed at all. Hmm. Tastes the same and so good. I haven’t had the time to eat gyudon on the cruise ship so it’s a nice change. Good stuff. By the way, during this trip, this is the first time I’ve paid for lunch! I don’t need to worry much about money, so it feels really relaxing. Next, we will head to the shores of Ise to watch a live performance featuring. A traditional Japanese musical instrument, the shamisen. It’s like a Japanese banjo. Not only that, but the venue is Hinjitsukan. A historic guesthouse once used by the imperial family. There have been quite a few things connected to the imperial family over the past few days. The Yoshida Brothers are cool traditional Japanese musicians. Cool. No video here, so enjoy the photos. That was an incredible performance! Now walking to a nearby shrine known for its frogs. Futami Okitama Shrine. Another day, another shrine. According to lore, frogs embody the idea of “return,” wishing travelers coming home safely. Interesting. Meoto Iwa. The rocks are seen as a gateway to the sacred and are usually visited before Ise Grand Shrine, though I visited the shrine first. Is that concrete I see? This little guy’s called Akafuku. Super famous in Ise… and apparently, lucky too. It’s soft. Too soft. Like, “I didn’t even chew” soft. Grainy nonsense, and it wraps around a little mochi pillow hiding inside. It’s not too sweet. This is my edible high-five from the Edo period. Thank you. And we’re back to the harbor now. Look! the cruise ship has shifted sideways. We’re back on the boat. This boat is pretty cool. A bit hot inside but there’s a bunch of seats to support. About 120-200 can board. It’s rare to get on this boat. And we’re back to the harbor now. I completely forgot about the meal service. I wanted to try. Some of the options, like the burgers and curry. They told me it would take 30 minutes to prepare the meal. So in the meantime, I’m heading to the sauna. My meal service arrived. Look at the volume of the burger. (wah). My face feels dried out, so I’m going to use the face mask. Thank you. I booked the Chef’s Table. On the final day, the menu at the chef’s table changes, so we’ll be dining there. Todays theme is California cuisine. White wine form Italy. “Hey everyone, thank you so much and cheers!”. This is the “sweet potato chip” Amuse. What is this? Cune crianza 2020. First course is Crab Cake. This crab cake is the western style using avocado and oranges. The granita is “Moscow Mule,” the most famous drink born in LA. The granita is “Moscow Mule,” the most famous cocktail born in LA. A drink called the Moscow Mule, a symbol of midcentury american cocktail culture… the irony. Greyrock 2023. The main course is seared halibut with California olive. The main course is seared halibut with California olive. We did try lots of oranges on this trip. A good throwback dessert. Spice > California. This trip really is coming to an end. I didn’t know if I would fit in. But I think I did my best. The places I’ve mentioned in these past 10 days have been definetely on a cruise ship. I’ve been going from places to places and the trip is coming to a close in Yokohama. It feels kind of weird for me to say this but… I liked it. Visiting places I had never been before, and returning to familiar ones with a fresh perspective. Watching others do wild and fun things, and joining in myself was both exciting and inspiring. It was one of those rare times when stepping out of my comfort zone really paid off. From a YouTuber’s perspective, having a well-planned itinerary made everything much smoother and less stressful. All in all, it was not only one of the best experiences I’ve had on a cruise, but also a defining moment in my YouTube journey. The trip is ending soon. I only met this sauna and cold bath combo just 2 days ago. I wish I had met you sooner. Piano. Coming to the end. Let us tour around different places. The world cafe buffet. So quiet you would never guess how lively it was. Is that interstellar? Wait it’s gravity. Looks like the pool turns into a theatre at night. There are, even to this day. On board for 10 days that I can still discover new things I didn’t know about. I was here. Yes, I had some time here. Guys I actually danced there. What the heck. How did that happen? I think I had my first English afternoon tea. This was my first encounter with a fellow passenger on the cruise. I didn’t spent too much time here during my time on the cruise but it’s a memorable place. This is where a very famous singer witnessed me sleeping. It also happened to be a place where I had a good laugh with new friends. So this is where that door led to. Golf course. Let’s walk along to rediscover the place where I first got my hole in one shot. Yes, this is the course. For those who are enjoying this video the days to pass. By in minutes but for me 11 days of my life was spent on this boat. For me these were eleven days of my life. I definitely spent them here on this ship. I really don’t know what this is all about. Maybe you click it. Nope. I don’t know. Yeah, I still don’t know what that board sign meant. But it really has become an artifact of my life. Water travel. Slow travel around undiscovered places. There’s often negativity around cruise travel, but in hindsight, I truly appreciated the experience. Great places are great, but with the right people, they can change the way you see travel itself. Through this journey, I rediscovered what travel means to me. Just 11 days, and it changed my entire travel life. Sounds like I can hear the partying of the crew. I saw one of the most memorably sunsets here at the deck. It was so beautiful it shocked me. The deck that is now empty was filled with a crowd moving their feet. Gathering themselves as close as possible to the edge of the deck. It felt like the first time I was on the Canadian. Trying out new things meeting new people and learning from mistakes. I don’t remember these rocks being here. With the right mind you’re able to see things that’s really want you to see. The restaurant. I don’t remember it being this bright. Showing a side that you don’t show. While I was lost in reflection. Everyone else was still enjoying the final night. To ensure everyone has a blast, Japanet installed karaoke onboard. Guys, my predecessor actually sang a song. No Song, No Life. The trip may be over for myself but for the crew. The crews will continue on perfecting their dances. This is where I performed my first bicycle exercise. It was like reliving a trauma. This is where I dumbbell bench pressed in a suit. And that’s what cruises are all about. A journey for times to come. Well, we’re back in the room it’s quite dark out there. Good night, guys. Good morning. The cruise ship has made it to the Yokohama terminal. That skyline… ya, that’s definitely Yokohama, not a mirage. There’s a cruise ship docked here now that wasn’t at the port when we departed. I think it’s one of the few Japanese cruises, the Asuka II. (It was the newly launched Asuka III.). Now for the morning routine. The final Greek yogurt on the cruise ship. Room 3050 was incredibly comfortable,I really enjoyed my stay Thank you so much. All the suitcases are gone. Well, it’s time to disembark for the final time on this journey. 11 Days! It’s over. I feel sad. Thank you so much for this unforgettable trip. And to everyone who has always watched, and especially those who stayed with me through this long journey. Have a nice day!

Holy crap dude. Over 2 hours of content??? King type behavior. 🎉🎉🎉
Not enough life boats!
Короче, кроме как пожрать, в круизах особого разнообразия нет.
21:12 Ah yes, womens teeth do tend to have different needs. 😅
What a beautiful cruise, loved all the sites and the great food😁😁🥂
🎉 espetacular, magnífico ❤ 10 🎉
Just be careful how many Cinderellas you pound back, you may end up a pumpkin and your predecessor will have to roll you back to the cabin. 😵💫I also laughed as you said it was an "easy climb" on Jeju as you literally gasped for breath – Your predecessor on the other hand was ziplining like a God 🤠 You…heaving like a peasant. Hahahahaha. 😮💨
What an incredible journey!! Your ending where you reflected on the past 11 days was bitter sweet. Thank you for sharing your most excellent cruise experience. ❤
1:19:19 Is that real hair? Fascinating performance 👏
