Nippon-Ham Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo updated his Instagram on the 1st, reporting that he had encountered trouble with his flight being delayed and that he was “hurriedly heading to Kyocera,” and surprisingly announced starting line-up for the day on Instagram.
Nippon-Ham Fighters were scheduled to fly directly from New Chitose Airport to Osaka’s Itami Airport for a three-game series against Orix Buffaloes, starting on the 1st, but their flight was significantly delayed, four hours and 20 minutes. They were forced to suddenly change their route to a flight via Haneda Airport. Their arrival at Itami Airport is expected to be about two hours later than originally planned. The hectic travel accident left them wondering whether they would make it to the 6:00 PM game at Kyocera Dome.
Manager Shinjo posted on Instagram, “The plane was delayed quite a bit, but we managed to get starting line-up on board at Haneda and Itami in Hokkaido, and are now rushing to Kyocera.” He added a crying-laughing emoji and announced the starting starting line-up on Instagram, adding a photo of a whiteboard with the names of the nine members.
Followers were surprised, saying, “What?! They’re announcing it here,” “starting line-up is being announced earlier than anywhere else,” and “starting line-up lineup is being revealed.”
The announced starting line-up is as follows:

3 (third) Yuki Kiyomiya
4. (Catcher) Gunji
5 (2) Ishii
6 (left) Manami
7 (1) Nomura
8 (shortstop) Mizuno
9 (middle) Go Matsumoto
The scheduled starting pitcher is Taka Kato.
