Visiting Ghibli Park in Japan! Must-Know Tips Before You Visit Nagoya’s Hidden Wonderland!
in this video we’re visiting Jibli Park in Nagagoya so if you’ve never been here’s a sneak peek let’s get right to it [Music] today we’re heading to Ghibli Park an immersive theme park that brings the magical worlds of Studio Ghibli films to life you know the Studio Ghibli films don’t you do my neighbor Ttoro Spirited Away and Princess Monoke ring a bell anyway the Ghibli Park we’re visiting today is located just outside the city of Nagagoya the most convenient way to get there is by train but lucky for us my brother Dan is driving us around this place is massive sitting on 17 acres of land on the former Expo 2005 site making it part of the broader Expo Memorial Park our first stop is Jibli’s Grand Warehouse which is what we’re waiting in line for jibli’s Grand Warehouse is the centerpiece of Jibli Park and the largest of its themed areas housed in a renovated indoor swimming complex this immersive space is filled with life-size sets interactive exhibits and iconic scenes from multiple Studio Ghibli films highlights include a massive replica of the air destroyer Goliath which you’re seeing dangling from the ceiling right there there is also a lounging robot soldier from Lapuda and a play area designed like the cat bus from My Neighbor Torto which is especially popular with children the Grand Warehouse also hosts seasonal exhibitions a mini theater for short Ghibli films and the beautifully crafted Delicious exhibit where visitors can admire detailed replicas of Jibli’s famously appetizing food scenes this area offers the richest visual storytelling in the park and provides countless photo opportunities he says to fly away dangerous that is very dangerous but why which you should plan to spend at least 2 to three hours here to take it all in and advanced reservations are highly recommended as entry times are limited and often sell out quickly this is the Academy Award for best animated feature that Jibli Studios got for The Boy and the Heron in 2024 my niece is loving the Ghibli themed play areas throughout the warehouse our journey throughout the warehouse brings us to the gift shop with so many cool collectible items from the films here’s Kelly modeling her new babushka hat you can even find the vinyl records from the soundtrack of your favorite Ghibli movie we finished our tour of the warehouse and reconvene outside on the lush green walkways outside people are just hanging out and having a great time outside there are so many nooks and secret spaces that kids love and my niece bee lines towards this tunnel you can’t forget all the slides that are scattered throughout the park somehow Sora finds every single one of them our next stop is the Valley of Witches which is the park’s most ambitious and largest outdoor zone officially opening on March 16th 2024 drawing inspiration from Kiki’s Delivery Service Howell’s Moving Castle and Earwig and the Witch it recreates a charming northern European style village infused with magic and wonder a general day pass includes entry of all outdoor areas including Valley of Witches however interior buildings such as Howell’s Castle Okino Residence and House of Witches require a premium pass or paid time tickets depending on your pass type you’ll love this area because it’s immersive and transports visitors into the heart of Jibli’s witch themed worlds blending storytelling hands-on architecture tasty treats and gentle magic for fans of all ages there’s a how themed carousel adorned with Ghibli imagery which is 500 yen for kids and 1,000 yen for adults here is the towering 20 meter replica of Howell’s Castle complete with moving parts and puffing smoke plus access to interior rooms like Califerous Furnace and Sophie’s bedrooms for premium passholders this is the carousel I mentioned earlier it’s such a classic and beautifully built carousel [Music] we then see a long line for Guipana Bakery and decide to wait in line as well gua Kapana Bakery is a charming half-timbered bakery modeled after the one from Kiki’s Delivery Service complete with a bread wreath on display and the attic where Kiki and her cat Gigi lived inside you can buy a rotating selection of fresh breads from baguettes and bowls to unique seasonal treats like chocolate cornets filled after ordering and peek up the staircase into Kiki’s cozy attic space [Music] all those pastries look delicious [Music] they probably are but then they just let them we find a cozy spot overlicking the natural scenery to enjoy all our baked goods woo look at it it’s so cute wow delicious sora looks like she’s enjoying her snack she never asked me to bottle things and I’m hungry [Music] oh wow that’s cool mhm i have no idea what this thing is but it’s very tasty dan is parched and waits in line for some lemonade after that it’s on to the next area of Ghibli Park [Music] there are so many photo opportunities to be had in this park this huge spider looking thing is creepy but my niece isn’t phased at all and she finds another slide 10 out of 10 from the judges jibli Park in Nagagoya is a magical experience that brings Studio Ghibli’s beloved worlds to life through immersive architecture lush landscapes and
