Sushi, it’s a lot more than fish and rice

Do you know what sushi is? When people hear the word sushi, they’ll often think of raw fish, but it’s not long. that sushi is much more than that. Do you think you know what sushi really is? Let’s reveal it now. Do you know where sushi is from? Surprise is not in Japan. It’s originated in Southeast Asia to fermenting fish with rice and over the time it came to Japan. One of the first is narushi. Narushi is a method of preserving fish. The ingredients are fish, rice and salt and over long period of time using the lactic fermentation of rice. It came to Japan in navior. If you want to eat narushi, well, it’s similar from is punazushi and you can eat it near um lake ba. Then hayushi came in period. It was revolutionally changed in sushi world. Nushi takes really really long time to prepare before eating. But people couldn’t be patient to wait. So to make sushi pasta, people added vinegar to rice, mixed with fish and brush it from the top. Finally came for adult people. Hayushi was still too slow because they were really really impatient. In the end of Ed people changed the way to cook sushi. It used to be pressed but now sushi was great. That is nigushi nigiriushi was eaten immediately suited at the people’s style and it became popular from street food to highend restaurants. The kinds of sushi what you see the most is nigiushi. There are so many restaurants serves nigushi maki. It is my name but also a kind of sushi too. It is bold sushi and usually uses um nori small cuted ingredients are top on the rice stomach. It is also kind of called sushi but it’s bigger in sushi which is rice filled a bra and a bra is a kind of tofu. There are so many other kinds of sushi and well I probably make it another video about it. Do you know how they train to become sushi chef? Becoming sushi chef often called it takes years of training. First, probably after graduation of high school, they decide where to train. Ask masses in that way if they could train there. The first thing they do is to clean the kitchen which you know kind a boring job but it is very important because sushi often deal with buffers right which means they’ll have to clean the kitchen so there’s no germs. Then they going to learn how to prepare rice. Preparing rice is one of the key for sushi. So it’s very very important. They mix vinegar, salt and sugar into rice. And the balance is the key. and learn wrong side to be able to prepare the suitable way for sushi. So also learn how to cut fishes. How to cut fish thin or thick is very different and it has significant impact for the taste of sushi since they just got fish but it has to be trained. Then they’ll learn the balance of sushi and fish. How much rice is fit to this fish or that fish? So make difference in taste. Finally, they’ll learn how to present sushi on a dish. The representation, how it looks, differs when you see it. The beauty enhances the deliciousness. If you’re going to sushi restaurant, you should enjoy not just taste but the performers and beautiful presentation. Do you know etiquette of eating sushi? How should you eat sushi? Yes, it is just food. So you can eat whatever the way you want. But if you want to be a little bit bright, there’s some way to follow. Like you can use chopsticks or your hand, but you don’t really see people eating with hands. But it’s considered also acceptable. If you are going to use soy sauce, be careful. Don’t put rice side because it’s going to fall apart. And if you’re at highend restaurant, don’t put wasabi because sushi chef already put right amount of wasabi into sushi. One more point. If you’re going to go to sushi restaurant and sit at a counter space, always always respect the chef. Sushi chefs were trained for many years, like I said, and they’ll do their best to prepare the best taste of sushi. So what is sushi? Sushi is not about fish or rice or the skill of sushi cha. It is philosophy and effort behind it. That training is all dedicated to hospitality. Sushi seems really simple menu. But what seems simple is actually full of hidden aspects.
