Tour our $3500 house in Myoko Japan
this is the previous people that lived here I can feel the good memories here Joy oh this is the shrine dang this is weird that like photo looks like my Aunt photo of my grandma that looks like that this is actually pretty intense I kind of look like this guy [Music] now happy travels I’m with tuck and Joey from akiart and we’re going to check out their $35,000 house in Moko kogen Japan hey we are all touring the house for the very first time Tak and Joey have never seen the house until today they bought this just through the real estate agent that they have a connection with but they’ve never actually been here before we’re going to do a walkth through tour of the outside and the inside of the house I want to get their reactions see what they think about it and I want to know what you guys think about it too as we go along drop your thoughts in the comments on your reaction what is the inside like what’s the outside like what do you think about the location it’s super cool to see that they found a place in Moko a very sort after area in Japan right now mioko is a ski area in niata prefecture and it’s very famous for the mountains here for the snow but also for the summer activities the snow is pretty hectic during the winter and this is deep snow country Japan they get some of the most snowfall here in the world and it’s something that Joey and tuy will have to deal with let’s get started before we go inside let’s have a look on the outside to see what these guys guys have just bought they have a river out the front which is going to be great for snow removal during the winter on the outside here you can see a bunch of pipes on the side of the house those pipes are for the heating of the roof to melt the snow which is going to be great here’s a closer look at where you can remove the snow you can just dump snow into this water here and it will melt it during the winter this will keep running during the winter right besides the house is this graveyard and a temple it’s actually a pretty beautiful space what do you think about it is that a good feature or not such a good feature let’s have a look at what the temple looks like a bit closer house is over here the graveyard is here and here is the temple very traditional the graveyard is pretty very peaceful place it’s a very nice Zen atmosphere what a great next door neighbor these guys better keep their music down there’s also no specific parking here but we have spoken to the neighbors and they said it’s possible to park at the front here no one has an issue with that including the temple they’re okay with that there’s also a few contacts in the neighborhood where they offer parking whether that’s outside or inside at a monthly fee it’s pretty normal in these areas for people to build like a garage space for people to rent that especially during the winter now I’m walking down the side of the property and there’s quite a lot of land here down the back here we have some farming area just to the side with another house plus just here behind the house they have their own yard space and you can see the views back there of the mountains the clouds moving across it’s super pretty here this shed behind is not part of the house that belongs to somebody else as does this farming land around here up the back here you can see another grave and these cedar trees are super pretty up here too and that Temple is really pretty actually back here is the temple and these grave sites that go up the mountain into those trees over that side is the view from the house that small little mountain or Hill great colors in the trees here overall I think the garden has a lot of potential it’s a nice amount of space there’s this mini driveway here that they probably could not use for parking maybe this could be converted to parking if they need it but they also need a space for that snow to fall off the roof and go to somewhere and it’s probably here is there snow space always got to think about that I mentioned just before that there is a heating system for the roof this is a flat roof you would have to self clear this it does not shed it shed itself the snow you have to remove that yourself because it’s got that heating system you won’t have to do that it will melt most of it down but I’m not sure what condition that heating system is I’d assume the worst and that it’s not in working order but everything’s set up and ready to go so hopefully it gives them a head start you can see that the windows here are boarded up that’s for the snow it never got taken down but these here are to stop the snow from caving in the windows the the snow will get up quite High here possibly to most likely to that that roof there the snow will reach way up to there which is why that door has been boarded up and those window windows are covered to stop that from breaking things a lot of this yard space will just be gone covered in snow you have to consider these things when you’re buying houses in Snow Country Japan and where is the snow all going to go there’s some damage on this roof it’s nothing crazy that can be repaired but you can see there how the snow falls straight down hits this roof and it’s just taking its toll over time this will definitely be used for snow protection as well so that snow will pile up here so it’s not just I mean insulation you can say insulation but obviously it’s not really going to insulate it’s very much for keeping that snow from collapsing in that window there for protection there’s also an airon unit here and that will be gas a gas outlet up the top there for ventilation it kind of shows that people have been using this house recently it’s not too old it’s probably 5 10 years old this airon but from what we understand someone was living here up to 2022 it’s only been vacant for a couple of years until the guy passed away this is an AIA property which means it’s not necessarily abandoned it’s an open house is what AIA translates to someone was living here up until recently and then they passed away we don’t know the details of whether that was at the house or not in the house the house is just left empty and the family don’t want to deal with it they just want to sell it and move on that’s the same for this house it’s the same case uh an older man passed away the family no longer needs this house which means they just want to detach from it in this case I’ve already shown you outside and shown you how much snow there is to deal with at this property in this location it makes sense that a family no longer wants to deal with the snow removal organizing that making sure the house is safe because you do need to keep paying someone to remove it the snow or you need to do it yourself if you don’t live in the area and you need to keep maintaining something to this level it could be really a pain for somebody to have to deal with that when nobody lives here and they they don’t really want to spend time at the property so I totally understand why people want to offload houses like this but for the right person this is like an ultimate ski house property being 10 15 minutes from the closest ski resort it’s some people’s ultimate location that’s the house there and you saw the temple in the graveyard but on this side too right besides it there’s another Shrine that I’m going to walk up to looks pretty it’s been raining a bit recently we had this nice little waterfall happening and up the top here is this beautiful space inside the cedar trees feels like I’m deep in the forest but very spiritual through the Tory gate and the shrine there over the back imagine this being next door to your house I wonder if that one was demolished by snow what a cool feature to have right besides where you live at the back there behind the trees is where the house is very special what are your thoughts so far on the outside drop them in the comments we’re going to switch over to T and Joey and do the inside tour excited to see what’s inside Welcome to our mioko house we bought this house for $3,500 you’re about to go on a tour into this not haunted house let’s check it out little spooky little dark um concrete floor is kind of cool we’re keeping shoes on not typical in a Japanese house little bit but please excuse us here yeah in all likelihood this house has been abandoned for a little over two years so we’re we’re going in shoes on okay are the lights oh that’s creepy here we go uh this was the first thing I saw when you walked in which is so cool I love this little chalkboard is it oh he T he timed out his days huh runi this is our new kitchen uh needs a little work there’s some xyle gum here Joey you going to go for it two-year-old gum it’s not that bad do it let’s see how it looks do it no do it smells good [Music] oh yeah okay so how’s how’s that feel floor is a little squishy okay he’s spinning it out I’m sorry J uh you can see here we have the plants overgrowing our sink the kitchen stuff is still in the sink the owner literally left everything as is Sono Mama um but overall it’s better than we thought you know what can you get for 3500 bucks in us uh a really bad car all right let’s uh let’s check out this room right here squishy floors very common of Japanese houses of this age uh little dark Joe is there a light that we can turn on here as you can see uh this is the previous people that lived here and you know honestly this is doesn’t feel this feels good you can tell looking around that they had a good life here um I can feel the good memories here Joey what goes inside here oh this is the shrine oh oh that’s dang this is weird that like photo looks like my aunt and we have a photo of my grandma that looks like that it’s like a maybe a style from that whoa this is this is actually pretty intense yeah that’s a is that the bootan yeah you can see they had grandkids right here very classic japanese home I kind of look like this guy now it looks like my school year uniform maybe maybe this is meant to be here let’s check out the bathroom Okay bathroom oh bathroom’s over here the toilet fax machine check out the toilet here come on light are you going to work nope oh no are you coming in here I didn’t actually take a look at the toilet yet let’s see oh lights works I’m holding my breath not bad pretty good pretty good come check our other house in beo had a Squatty toilet I think this probably septic tank right yeah septic septic let’s turn that light off um all right Jo let’s give the tour of the upstairs this a crystal oh that’s a nice crit got something in it all right let’s keep going uh let’s oo all right Zer you uh took a bite of the gum Next Step you know what that worried I’m worried about okay looks pretty good I don’t know what that crap is in it but better than our beo bathroom for sure we got this sweet heater for the cold days post snowboarding Joey’s fixing his hair no spider web got a laundry machine floors must be like what yes six and a half feet or something okay all right here we go I’m surprised there’s not a lot of stuff stuck to the walls I feel like our bet have house had like stuff taped to the walls yeah that’s smells musty but better than expected I kind of expected like a okay we got some great Cedar views right here I love this little desk it’s such a cute little desk with the radio some kind of camera bag this is just exposed electrical you know I mean this is we could live here tractor picture you okay with these dos you know they they no yes not okay I have them in my home in California my mom likes them I hate them but not you got some gifts we got some do you want those I do not you sure I got rid of mine okay well you did you keep them I couldn’t keep them they’re just looking at me at night this is my favorite room listening room I would say this is the room I’d say uh we keep we put whoever was here before was probably an audio file or really loved music which I respect we got a lot of cassettes going yeah cassettes in many of the rooms uh the whole is that sound Yamaha sound system what does that sound that’s the light oh that’s the light okay I mean the the view out here must also be beautiful like get the wind when it snows out we feel so high up here he me posters this kind of does feel like my grandparents house a little bit kids stuff h i mean this reminds me I see my mom doing you know saving the same kind of stuff from you know toys from when I was a kid I’m like Mom why are you keeping this stuff and she’s like oh for when I have grandkids and like I’m seeing the same thing play out you know moms are the same cross culturally there’s a lot of construction photos here I wonder if he maybe used to work in construction lot of trucks and stuff onto the bedroom this one oh oh the main yeah I think this is uh maybe you know oh he still got some suits he got some ties in here real real risky here have the papa this is this is a comfortable room though I it’s probably Central to for the heat right so they would close up all the doors and feels pretty comfortable children’s room definitely got this cool turtle turtle named word oh this is creepy actually oh no no no no no no okay we’re out of here what was creepy a turtle kind of scary kud guy kind of scary again tak’s first Turtle he named Kudo guy Bam Bam Bam Bam seven Turtles growing up they actually uh my turtles showed up in the Memoirs of Aisha they made it into the movie yeah they film I donated my turtles F that that Garden they filmed filmed the movie there that’s my test of Fame okay how’s this this jammed I was hoping to get you a good window view oh okay is this is oh this is a second one oh it’s insulated we have a it’s pretty to say insulated what where is it insulated no look it’s a double Paine window right here that’s insulated all right we’re we are set we’re set for winter this looks like kids room too you know all right well you may that was okay let’s take a look at the previous they’re good photographers oh man little drawings here 1960 dang this is crazy good vibes from this house people had a good good life here I could tell what do we now how do we renovate it to keep it keep it warm but also keep the memories here we got the we already got the double glazing window here blinds closed should we go down to the to the yeah garage let’s take you to the garage look at some tools oh let’s um I guess make sure the lights are turned off we can do that later let’s bring them to the closet um all right here we go to the garage fresh air fresh fresh air lot of stuff but a lot of potential like this is a good Pottery I would say this is the Pottery Studio we’re going to do let’s check out this jacket oh no don’t don’t wear it with a hood with a hood jean jackets with a hood all right the main attraction and the reason why we got this place so cheap I think is because it’s next to a graveyard but check out this awesome Temple we have these cedar trees too like this is such a picturesque spot um we got a lot of neighbors Joe you’re going to have allergies this season that’s for sure yep won’t be here Congratulations to Joey and Take at @AkiyaMart on their purchase! And thank you for the tour!
Take and Joey just bought this house for $3,500 USD in Myoko, Niigata Prefecture. Together we tour the property for the first time as they bought it without seeing it in person. This video captures our first impressions and some of the things we find along the way.
We also consider some of the good points and the challenges as we learn what this property has to offer.

Can you find me a house like this ? Finders fee
You level of disrespect reflects your lack of self respect. Remodel, explain legal costs, do some gardening, but giving your sad little judgement of the dead
is serious small world. Your money has made you bored.
I think the inhabitants of the graveyard will be happy to have foreigners next door. Something of interest. I say, they should amp up the music!
13:54 imagine this in the night and the dolls next to you and you are alone 😶🌫️😬
The graveyard is a huge deal breaker to me. Im a very sensitive person and last time I visit a temple/graveyard, a ghost followed me during the rest of my time there. So, I would def pass this house
definitely haunted, bro there is a graveyard right next door
i will say those grandkids/kids should be ashamed of themselves for just completely selling the place without even going to get some irreplaceable possessions like photos
How can I get a T-shirt like yours?
0:38 aint those family tombstones?
living next to a cemetary? Awesome.. they are quiet.
That kind of house always gives me Sadako and the Grudge vibe.
13:54 for ghost san
I want the dolls in the glass cases 😂😂
Live beside a graveyard, sorry not even for free lol. Too many ghosts around, lol.
It's a house with a sense of history. Perhaps they gave up on cleaning because there were too many things and the residence was far away. However, it's a strange sight to see photos of family memories still there. If it was filmed late at night, it was definitely footage from a horror game.
Quiet neighborhood!
How much did they pay to refurbish the property?
I don't know. Japan has such a nice culture. And still somewhat protected. I don't like seeing some "very warm" dudes destryoing that. It happens all around the western world nowadays. Please leave normal people some space.
Cemetery =quiet neighbors. So sad with all that left behind, though.
Your videos are good the cemetery next to the house I don't really care for and plus I'm kind of getting tired of watching your videos because you're always showing houses either you or somebody else is already bought show abandoned houses that is possible for somebody else to buy
Graveyard next to house is bad Feng Shui.
You were very respectful of the previous owners' belongings in the video, which is awesome, so how I wonder what you did with the personnel stuff. Spill the beans. Here in the US plenty of it would be purchased and collecred. What about there?
Boy, I'm nosey.
Not fond of having a cemetery so close
Japanese seems to be hoarders
The view looks like cemetery?
actually great, could probably be renovated to modern standards and still be only a fraction of the cost of a house in the US
GREAT INVESTMENT. I can’t wait to see what you do with the place. Please videotape it for us. Thank you.

How sad that all the photos were left behind.
Unthinkable in Taiwan that a graveyard is so close to a house and that anyone would be willing to move there. Not for me. 😊
Wouldn’t like to have the graveyard so close. These are scared spaces. More so than in the west. Have to think about respectful behavior related to the graves. Also personally all the polished granite is cold looking. Better with trees and shrubs.
It would be lovely to have the local priest come in to bless the house to its new owners and the renovation to come.
9:34 , how disrespectful it doesn’t matter if someone lives there or not you always take your shoes off in a Japanese house. You really pissed me off and I won’t watch any more of your videos just because of this.
I guess if your lonely and living next to a grave yard you'll have some "body" to talk to 🤣
As soon as I saw the graveyard I knew I has seen this property before on a different video , so maybe it was Akiya Marts video .
House near graveyard creepy
