Grab a plate of barbecue and a cold one while you settle into enjoy some cool jazz tunes at Camp Foster on Aug. 3.
Blues, Brews, & BBQ will feature live music including the “Queen of Blues Rock Guitar,” Joanna Conner. The musician will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. to dazzle with her signature slide guitar techniques.
Off-stage, another maestro, Moe Cason, often referred to as the “BBQ king,” will demonstrate his grill skills. Cason is a Navy veteran and has appeared in many shows, including “BBQ Pit Wars” and “Chopped.”
Cason will also judge 10 teams competing to be pit masters. Registration is open and costs $50 per team with a limit of 10 teams. Categories include shoulder/butt, brisket and chicken. As of July 31, three spots remain, so register online soon.
To add more flavor and fun to the day, food vendors will serve up Jamaican, Chamorro and Hawaiian-style barbecue, along with locally brewed craft beers. There will also be a funland for kids.
