Join us as we explore the hidden regions of Japan, revisiting my wife’s familial origins in Mikkabicho Fukunaga, Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu. We started our trek at the eternal Izoko Shrine, discreetly situated near her familial home – a tranquil location to reflect before pursuing what awaited beyond.

With my DJI Neo drone, I captured sweeping aerial shots of the shrine, the winding mountain paths, and the sea of clouds below us. Flying above these remote ridges revealed a side of Hamamatsu few ever witness — hidden shrines, ancient forests, and villages nestled like secrets in the hills.

After our climb, we explored the city’s vibrant streets and back-alley gems, chasing bold flavors and local dishes that turned each meal into its own adventure. From rustic classics to surprising twists, the food alone made this trip worth every mile.

This film is more than a travel diary — it’s a glimpse into the wild beauty you find when you look beyond the main roads and rise above the mist. Come see Japan from a new perspective — on foot, above the trees, and through the lens of the DJI Neo.
