Strolling Ohori Park Fukuoka🇯🇵Live from Japan

And good morning Tuesday Louise here and we’re in Fukuoka. We’re in Ohhori Park. Look at all this beautiful nature. It’s a very warm Tuesday and I thought this is a good spot to bring you to Oh Park. This is what it looks like. So it’s a big lake and you can see the red dot. We are here. So, we’re going to cross the bridges and the islands and we’re going to end up at the other side over there right near the no theater and the art museum and the Japanese garden is all over on that side. So, we’re going to walk towards that area. Good day, Karen by the book. Awesome to see you. Thanks for joining. People are Oh, I was just in New York with you. Lisa Ka, we’re here. Yeah, we’re in the in I’m on the outskirts of the park at the moment. Um and about to enter. So these are the things that are in the park. Acorn park, the playground, whale park, Oh Park, Japanese garden. We have been there before, but I will take you again, but not today. The art museum, which is fantastic. Saw Keith Herring Herring here last time. The no theater. the Uki pavilion, which we’re going to walk towards. They’ve also got the Kuracan Ruins Museum. The ruins of the old castle are here. Yeah. And the turret. So, we’re going to do this this side over here. Uh we will do when we do the um the lotus because the lotus will be almost blooming. But there it is. Oh. And this park was developed probably about 50 years ago, I think, even a little bit bit before that. It was marsh land before that. So, um, yeah, fishing prohibited. There are lots of fish, lots of turtles in here as well. So, it looks like I’m not sure. Does that mean you can fish over there where they’re catching fish? I’m not sure. Fishing prohibited. Yeah. Anyway, let’s walk. didn’t do anything yesterday, but had an amazing day. We, as you know, I love a bit of good architecture and a nice cafe, and when they come together, they’re absolutely gorgeous. So, you might have seen it on my Instagram. It was the CS Som um cafe and it was um the building was designed by KokoKuma. Amazing. Amazing. Yep. So, follow me on Instagram. Yeah, coffee is always appreciated. Penelope, how’s it going? Meow. Yes, I’m a Well, I’m not quite as early as I planned to be because I kept on missing the bus. Um, Ah, Park is a little bit out of the way from for me from where I’m staying. What’s happening down here? Not much. I think when we get to the other side, we’re going to see all the turtles and the fish. Yeah, some fabulous shade here. Yeah, it’s good. I do have my hat on though. Um, what was I saying? Oh, yes. So, the bus had a little adventure on the bus. It was good. I had to ride for 20 stops to get here. Um, so it was good. It was good. But then, isn’t it funny? I was completely disorientated. I’m so used to getting off the train, the subway, and walking in here, which is on the other side. That’s where I thought the bus was dropping me. I didn’t really know, and it didn’t. to dropped me completely on the other side of the park. So, here we are. So, we’re looking through there on that side at the art museum. There’s the no theater there. Fabulous running tracks and cycling tracks all around here. American consulate is through um actually it’s through we might be able to see it. It’s through here. Might be able to see it when we get to the other side. Yeah. Quite the bus ride. Yeah, it was really good. I love catching buses actually. You know, when you use the underground all the time, you’ve got no idea sort of Oh, there’s a whole lot of white. Are they herand? I’m going to zoom in. In the tree over there. Let me zoom in and see what we can see what we can see if we can pick them up. In the big tree, there’s a crane. Uh, they just actually look like white dots. Now I can see a few of them moving. Think they are white her. They fish here. They love it. Oh yes. Cool. We’re nearly at the max only then now. Oh wow. We can zoom. Oh wow. We got the big zoom on. Whoa. Oh, we’re at 30. Wow. Can see his beak. He’s got babies, I think. Maybe. Maybe. Anyway, let me try and bring you back in peacefully. Oops. Hold on. Oh, yep. There we go. Bring you back down. Down. Down. Down. Yeah, it is disorientating, isn’t it? Yeah. And especially if you come out the wrong exit. How many times have I done that here? Not so much here, but in Tokyo. Osaka is the worst. Go back to normal. Oh, there’s a big black one flying by. Little island there in the middle. Oh, it’s got white a white bird sitting on it as well. We might be I’ll walk. We might be lucky enough just to catch one on the um the side of the bank of the lake. Yeah. So, this is all sort of reclaimed land. This was all marsh land. The castle was built here. Um, the remains of the castle are still around. What have we got here? We’ve just got a lamp post. I thought we might have had something exciting. But, you know, I always love an adventure. I love to get out and explore. Yesterday was amazing. It was a really, really good day. Um and good because we also discovered the huoka I think it is. Huakoka kooaka fukaka huoka I think it is. Amazing gourmet uh street area. What’s this black thing sitting here? Is this a bird? Looks like it might be a tired bird. He’s been doing too much fishing. Look at him. Nobody bothers him. He’s sleeping. That is a comrade. He is asleep. Look at him. He is gorgeous. Let me just zoom in on him. Wow. He’s just sitting here. Oh, aloha for so nice to see you. We’ve got a sleeping bird. He’s been fishing. He’s exhausted. He’s just He’s just in the middle of the path. Look at his little head tucked in his wings. Oh, it’s good. Hope nobody comes along and disturbs him. This is about as far as as close as we’re going to get. Can you see his head? Look at that. He’s so cute. Just shows you how people respect nature here. He’s not afraid of humans at all. Wow. It’s nice. Okay. And he’s just here. He’s just in the middle of the pathway. Look. Or not in the middle, but in the side. This is probably about 3 m wide. Oh, he’s woken up. He’s stretching. Oh, you’re beautiful. Look. I think you’re just gorgeous. He’s woken up now. Wonder how long he’d been asleep for. It’s all happy. He would have been drying his wings because they have no oil in their wings so that they can dive deep. And then when they come out, they need to dry them. So they spread their wings out, dry their wings, take a little bit of a nap. Oh, look at him. Oh, back to sleep maybe. No, just Yep. giving his head a little bit of a rub. Yeah. Go away. That is so gorgeous. Other people stop now to take some photos, too. Okay, we should keep on with our walk. You’re probably just going to stay here forever. Yeah. I don’t think you could get too close to him. And you know those beaks are sharp. It’s got a hook on the end of it. What are you going to do? Back to sleep. Look, we love birds, don’t we? Bicycle going by. He’s not afraid of us at all. And he’s beautiful. Oh, here comes some noisy people. I bet if I wasn’t here, those boys would chase him. But there we go. They’ve kept on walking. That’s good. But he’s pretty. Yeah, he’s pretty cute. Love it. Yeah. Amazing. He knows what he’s doing. That’s for sure. Okay, we’re going to keep walking. We could stay here or watch him forever. I wouldn’t mind that at all. I’m just trying to bring you back into normal. Where are we? Nearly back. There we go. Cool. Okay, let’s keep walking. Look at the color of the water in the park. So, my kids were here yesterday in the park. Sam and I went exploring and the kids came here and they were pedling around in one of the swan boats that are here. So, the path sort of divides a little bit here. Doesn’t really matter which way we go. Just nice to be It’s hot. You can see everybody’s got their shady umbrellas out. Um turtles are a little bit further on. There’s an island. There’s quite a lot of comants in there. Look at them. They’re all on top of the tree. So, there’s obviously a lot of fish in here. And it does go out to the um to to the harbor as well. Yeah. Carry on. We got to get to the other end. Actually, while I was walking here from the bus, I just had to little couple of blocks walk. I found a nice little place for lunch. So, I’m going to head back. But oh, let me continue telling you about the um the fabulous gourmet eating um area that we found yesterday. It’s I want to try every place that’s there. It’s absolutely amazing. And it’s going to be my new goto here for look over there. Going to be my new go-to here uh for dining. We are walking towards that. No turtles here. Thought there was a turtle there, but it’s just the water moving. Fabulous. So, Tuesday in Japan. We’re coming up to our first or second bridge actually because we walked over one to get here. Um, so this just going over the second bridge. Nice little bicycle there. And it’s nice and cool under the trees, which is really great. Nice views everywhere, isn’t it? Look, it does say no fishing. Oops. Oh, got to be careful here. Lots of trip hazards. Ah, the comrades are all lined up over here on the posts in the water. That’s amazing. We’ll get a little bit um clever and get there a little bit closer. Not clever. Closer. This bridge has got these gorgeous lanterns on it. Yeah. So, yesterday we had the Yakuri for lunch. It was really, really amazing. And then we walked around. In fact, I think I’ll go back um again. I’d like to do a YouTube of the whole place. So, we might um just check with I’m pretty sure they’re up to it. Isn’t that fabulous? Look, airplane kids. Ramona. Wow. Faith, Ramona, all the people that love airplanes going into a Fukuoka airport which is right in the middle of the city which is fantastic. So a curved bridge here not too big. What can we see in the water? No, just a bit of seaweed and different stuff. Yeah, and we all love a good good food. um share, don’t we? The food was amazing yesterday. Really, really good. And you know, I eat all this food and it’s delicious. I don’t put on any weight in Japan, which is good. And I think it’s if you eat lots of rice, of course, I think you’re going to put on weight. Uh you’re not going to walk that off. The odd cake, of course, we need for a bit of energy. Hi, Mercedes. Nice to see you. We’re just on the bridge with the lanterns and then I do all the walking of course, but I think it’s because it’s eating a lot of protein more than carbs. Cool. The water color is gorgeous, isn’t it? Uh we’re going to sort of like get alongside the birds, but I will zoom in from here. Uh so you can see them all standing on their posts drying their wings. Japanese food. You know, I’ve decided Whoops. My hat just blew off. Fortunately, it’s on a string. Whoops. Sorry. Losing balance here. Sorry. Spinning you all around a bit. There we go. Um, yeah. You know, you got to throw away the guide book. Follow the guide. Follow your guide because your guide knows best. You know, the guide knows how to get you to places quickly without crowds. The guide books don’t give you all the They just tell you where to go, which is not a good idea. See all the birds on there? Okay, we’ve done birds today, that’s for sure. Bring you back. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk with Dutch today. Was really nice. Three hours he did. I don’t know how he does three hours. That’s amazing. That’s amazing. Yeah, hold on to the hat. Yeah, I’ll show you. It’s um It’s this one. I haven’t stopped wearing it since I bought it. It’s fantastic. But fortunately, it’s got a um a thing. It’s got a strap. Okay, let’s keep going. But when it flies, you think you’re going to lose it. We come to another little break in the path. So nice to share these sort of places with you in Japan. I mean, the temples and the shrines and the shopping streets are all amazing, but when we go to places like this, it’s sort of unseen Japan. And I think often, you know, I’m not a big one. I love art galleries, but I’m not a big one for museums. I sort of get a little bit want to keep moving. Um, but sometimes your best moments when you’re traveling are just when you are sitting on a park bench like that, not doing anything. That’s the moment you remember. Oh, it’s a great hat, Penelope. Yeah, it’s really good. And it is the black band around it is linen. The rest of it is polyester. So, it folds up and it unfolds just perfectly. Um, so I see these posts are to stop the swans going any further. And there’s lots of birds along here as well. Look. Yeah, it’s pretty picture skew here, if you don’t mind me saying picture skew. I’m hoping to find a tut. The swans are good fun. Yeah, it’s a really good hat. In fact, um the woman that was traveling with me earlier in June, wanted to get one exactly the same. So, I Yeah, I mean, I bought mine in Hatioji, which is out of Tokyo. We eventually found one exactly the same. So, I hope she’s happy with it. I hope she likes it. It’s quiet, too. There’s not many people. It’s lovely and shady. Don’t you people are friendly? You know, it’s a little bit tricky too with live streaming around now, walking in the streets and busy places. Um, Japan has quite strict laws for showing other people’s people’s faces without permission. And so I’m trying to be really really careful as well. So if I turn the camera quickly, it’s cuz somebody’s coming into view. Ah, yeah. It’s nice, isn’t it? Look, get all the different shades of green. But thanks for joining everybody. Thanks for following me on these Japanese travels. I hope some of you will join me here in person sometime. I’ve got my dates ready for next year. We’ll do another cherry blossom tour and then we will do one in May um midmay in Japan but starting for people that want to we’ll start in Korea a few days earlier just to see all the beautiful palaces and the gardens and yeah a perfect day. It’s my favorite song. My favorite song. Lou Reed. Perfect day. It’s such a perfect day. I want to spend it with you. I do. I do. I do. Another one of my favorite songs is Walk on the Wild Side. I’ve always used that as my my theme, my go-to, my guiding light. Oh, good. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I want to find Thorn. You’re fabulous. Aloha. But I do want to find a some turtles. Where are they usually? I’m just trying to remember where they are. They could be anywhere. Although turtles are fabulous, we know that they are a nuisance in the waterways. They’ve been introduced into New Zealand and they’re a real pest uh because they were never there before. A lot of things got introduced over the years, didn’t they? We’ve got ducks. We’ve got ducks. Pine needles and pine cones and Yeah, it’s just Oh, and Oh, look at all the swans. Wow. Millions of swans. I think the headquarters is over over here. Yeah. Yeah. The wild child. Okay. Couple of ducks there. I think these are lights. So, for people that are walking through the park at night, got plenty of lights. But look at all the gorgeous trees. It’s so nice. Hanu Hanu. Yeah. Amazing turtles in Hawaii. I’ve been to I haven’t been to Hawaii for a long time. Maybe I don’t know 10 or 15 years maybe. But I have been a few times and loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Coming up to another bridge. This was a good decision to do this today. Flower Island would just be too hot and too exposed. Oh, here we go. We’ve come back to the birds on this side. We’ll just go back a little bit. There could be I think there’s sometimes some turtles down here. We’re pretty close to them now. Okay. Oh, look at them. And there’s even this. Oh, Gully’s there. There we go. Look, there’s Gully. Gosh, you’re a long way from home, Gully. You’re a long way from home. Isn’t that amazing? Look, there’s a couple here on the water. Where are they? Somewhere. Oh, where are they? Oh, there we go. See it pop up on the Oh, yeah. This one did just got up on the chain. Yeah, there he goes. Oh, siren. Lot of fires around at the moment. that other one. They’re so Look at them in the water. They’re so sleek. Food bird watching. Gully. Gully’s our little protector. Amazing. Fabulous. Okay, bring you in again. I have to do this with my fingers. Yeah, just to be Yep. Balancing on a pole. That would be fabulous, wouldn’t it? Good. I am good again. Okay, let’s keep walking. Oh, look. Nice flowery pants. Oh, thank God. Look. Oh, it’s a skirt. Nice. That was good. I’m beginning to work up. He’s working up an appetite. Me, too. Oh, another airplane. Busy airport this one. So on the 9th of August, I will be departing from this airport. I’m heading for Seoul. I’ve just got an afternoon in Soul to drop my luggage off at my friend’s house. And then I that evening I connect through to a flight to Vancouver. Woohoo. I can’t wait. Canada, here I come. But only four nights, unfortunately. Only four nights. Another bridge coming up here. Haven’t find found any turtles. I think they will be at the end. Another bridge. I keep on forgetting I’m walking backwards from what I normally do. I don’t mind lingering in this park. It’s so nice. It’s really gorgeous. And this time in the day, we’ve got a a good signal. Sometimes in the afternoon. Oh, there’s a big bird flying around. It’s a heron. Sorry, kids. There he goes. He’s beautiful. So, over this bridge now. Another little curved bridge. Arched bridge. You can see a round building through that. That’s the American consulate. Yes, Penelopey. It will be fabulous. I’m staying with my friends there, which will be really awesome. Um, so I’ve got my built-in built-in tour guides. That building over there is Starbucks. Um, just as a low brown building there. It’s quite good. It’s quite good. But I’m going to head back to that nice little restaurant, little cafe restaurant that I saw on the way. Uh, yes, for I’m but only to Seattle. So, I’m going to catch the train from Vancouver down to Seattle. And I’ll be in Seattle for four nights. So, that’s as far into the US as I’m going. Sorry. But Seattle, I’ve heard, is fabulous. So, I’m going to enjoy that. I’m going to be catching up with some old periscopers there, um, and various other people. So, it’ll be it’ll be nice and a little bit of a um a meetup. It’s just lovely here, isn’t it? So relaxing. Seattle’s amazing. Good. I’m Yeah, I’ve booked a hotel ages ago, actually, which looks really cool. Um, and yeah, I booked it months ago because I was a bit worried about prices and how expensive it might get closer to the time and sometimes you can get a good deal, but also I’m a little bit fussy about where I like to stay. I like staying somewhere interesting, um, in a good location, not too expensive. not usually interested in Airbnbs because they’re never conveniently located and I’m not going to clean up when I leave because I leave my hotel room looking absolutely pristine as if nobody’s been there anyway. But if I’ve got to get a vacuum cleaner out and wash things and do all of that, I’m not interested. In fact, I’m not a fan of Airbnb at all. I think hotels were built for travelers and that’s part of the travel adventure. And I always say to people, look, if I wanted to stay in an Airbnb, I’d just stay home. But I know people love them and people have great experiences and that’s okay. Everybody travels differently. I’m going to walk out on here. What What was the name of it? The food me was it? Something like that. It’s gorgeous. The color of it. Edgewater Hotel. Oh, I’m not staying at the Edgewater Pen Penelopey. I’m staying at Hotel Max. I could have a look at the edge water, but no, I’ve had the max booked for a while. I think I’m happy there. Should we walk out of here? We’ve got the place to ourselves today. Look at this. This is Oh no, two people just going to head out there. We’ll let them do their thing and then we’ll come back to it. You tourists, you’re taking your time to take get their photos. Yeah. Yeah. Looking forward to that. So, yep. Vancouver and then Seattle and then back to Soul for 10 days. I’ve got some unfinished business there. Um, and then back to New Zealand. And boy, it’s going to be a busy summer. It’s going to be a busy busy summer. I’ve got Yeah. Lots of people, lots of bookings, which is really cool, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Really, really cool. Yeah. So, the US embass um consulate just through there. Next time we’re here at the park, we’ll go for a walk in the Japanese garden. They’re going to be stuck on the bridge. Oh, we should have just gone on and spoiled for their photos. Everybody wants a photo with nobody else in it. This is funny, isn’t it? Yeah. It’s going to be busy, but it’s going to be good. It’s going to be really, really lovely. I love showing off New Zealand, and I’m just I’ve got bookings for interesting places, so I’ve been working with people um customizing tours for them. So, it’ll be nice. It’ll be good. Come on, people. Come off. Get off this bridge. We want the little house to ourselves. Two of them have heard me. They’re coming off. The other two will do their thing in a minute. Oh, see you for Thank you so much. It was mahalo. It was awesome. Thank you for joining me. Always fabulous to see you. Oh yeah, they’re all coming off now. Perfect. Perfect. They’re doing photos of each other now. That’s all right. That’s good. If we’re patient, we get a turn. And I’ve actually got all day, which is cool. Oh, young people. They just know how to take photos. They do it and they step back and then they do this one and then they do that one. And yeah, always ask a young person to take your photo for you. It’s really cool. Okay, it’s almost our turn. Almost our turn. Oh, they’re happy with their photo. That’s good. Off we go. This is nice. Look, Lisa, I can line it up for you. It’s perfect. Look. Absolutely gorgeous. Who doesn’t love a bit of vermillion paint? Just fabulous. We’ve got the place to ourselves. Look at this. Whoa. Perfect. Look at this. Wow. Nice. Look, look, look, look, look, look, look. Wow. And around we go. Oh, we’re looking at the bridge now. We’re going to walk over this bridge now. Yeah, I know. It’s Look at this color. It’s amazing, isn’t it? It’s sort of lacquered and Yeah, it’s incredible. It doesn’t look quite as bright because we’re in the shade, but if you look along here. Yeah, there it is. Yeah. Amazing. Somebody else coming to take a photo. But I’m in his Oh, no. Turtles. No. Look a little bit like it, but not. They’ll be be over the other side of the bridge. Look at that. Oh, yeah. It was good. It was fun, wasn’t it? So, Fukuokco, you’re going to get to know it. I’m here until the 9th. So, it’s just under 3 weeks. We are going back to Satada for a weekend. You know, the island that I love. Uh, we are going for a weekend and that’s the we’ll be staying there the 1st and 2nd of August. I’m staying at my beautiful UMI because I couldn’t find anywhere else and the kids are staying in Minatoya which they’re going to love. We had to do some little bit of jiggling around with rooms. So, so yeah, I’m staying in my amazing Aumi. It’s It is expensive. Um, but also it’s really good for me to keep up the connection with these people. Oh, there’s another one. Yeah. So, let’s get off the bridge and we’ll walk over the big long bridge now. We get one nice view as we look back here. All the swans. Yeah. Yes. They’ve got a few little travel adventures coming up, which should be good. One last look back here. It’s a lovely big comrade flying around. Imagine if he came in and landed on the top. Yeah. Perfect though, isn’t it? Just gorgeous. And the pines now. Yes. The pine on the ones on Flower Island. We were wondering what they are. Yes, they are a pine. So, I looked that up. It’s got a a special name. Something some sort of like a down pine or Yeah. So, I did check it out. You know those ones that look like Dr. Seuss trees? So, we’re walking over here. Oh, Penelope. Yeah. It’s fantastic, isn’t it? Really, really amazing. Here comes a swan. Oh, here’s a heron. Wow. Look at him. So, that’s what I thought I was looking at was a swan. And then I’ve just come to this beautiful white heron. So, he’ll be fishing. He’s got his eye on me, though. It’s a pine. According to Google Lens, he’s not looking at us now at a duck. That long sharp beak. Maybe he’s spotting something. Isn’t that incredible? Oh, another airplane going over, but I’m not looking. I love them to catch a um a fish while we’re here. Can we catch something? They’re so fast. Yeah, I’ll um let me find it again and just double check all the details. Yeah, you’re very beautiful. He’s got no feathers on his head, so I’m wondering if it’s a female. Could be a female. Oh, come on. Trying to bring us back. I have to do it that way. Sorry. There we go. Okay, we’ll leave you leave you to do your own thing. I think it’s a young one. I’ve walked a little bit closer. I think it’s a young one. He’s so beautiful. Look. So, so gorgeous. Nature is absolutely stunning. Nice. Okay, let’s walk over the bridge. Yeah. Delicate. Yeah. Yes. I always worry about their legs. They’re so long and spindly. Oh, this is nice, too, cuz there’s nobody on the bridge. It’s good. Sometimes there’s a lot of people walking over here. Nice weather. It’s not too hot. Oh, it’s supposed to be like 34 or 35, but here in the park, it’s lovely. I’m determined to find you a turtle. So, Fuko around 1.7 million people got an amazing infrastructure. The expressways are amazing. Really good subway system. Buses just every couple of minutes. Really amazing. And we’re still trying to get our act together in Oakuckland with our infrastructure. Buses are un unreliable. Trains stop running. Subways taking years to complete. Oh, this is it’s easy living somewhere where everything works. Another airplane. Faith Ramona. Japan Airlines. Yeah, there’s a lovely there’s a water not a waterfall but a water sort of thingy track water path up here. And often the herands are there. often. They’re there. And I’ve I’ve actually waited very patiently waited and watched one catch a fish somewhere. I’ve got that video. So, turtles should be around here somewhere. If not, I don’t know where they’ve gone. Seem to be plenty of ducks. I don’t see turtles, but you know, they’re creatures. They’re wild creatures. They probably move around the park, move around the lake from time to time. Got koi. Lots of fish waiting to be fed. If you spot a turtle, let me know. Oh, somebody’s feeding them. They’re all coming. I don’t know where the turtles are. Anyway, let’s go and Oh, a pigeon. Let’s go and have a look at the water track. I don’t know what you call it. It’s like a little river. Water feature. Water pond. Not a pond. It’s a river. It’s a river. It’s a stream. It’s a stream. That’s what you call it. A stream. Oh, we’ve got a heron right here. Here he is fishing. Whoa. Our lucky day, kids. That’s a gray herum. He doesn’t like us being too close. Oh, he’s got a duck with him. He’s camera shy. He’s gorgeous, too. Look at him. Let me zoom in on him. If I zoom in, then I can walk away a little bit further. We’ll watch him for a couple of minutes and see if he catches anything. Yeah, that was our lucky day. He’s going to move back into that spot around there. Okay. He likes that spot cuz he can catch a fish coming out from underneath. So, the water’s running in. You can see the direction the water’s running in. And he’s looking for a fish there. No, you won’t find one up there. No, you won’t. He moves away when people walk. Regal. Absolutely. Yeah, they’re amazing. And right here in the middle of the city. That’s what’s so cool about it. Are we patient enough to wait for him to catch a fish? I am. But whether you are, I don’t know. Another airplane, but I’m not looking at it. There he goes. I mean, a good look up. He knows what to look for. Their eyes are like 3,000% more than ours, obviously. Little kid walking by giving a little wave. I’m in the shade, too, which is nice. Isn’t he a gorgeous color? that gray. I don’t know what. Oh, that’s just a bit of froth going through. Come on, fish. Am I starting to get sound impatient? Almost like a cat waiting to pounce. Yeah, it’s a gorgeous gray. There’s several different shades. He is patient. I wonder how many hours he’s been here for. Oh, the lady with the nice flurry skirts here now, too. Is he following me? Aha. Come on. Oh, he’s spotted something. What’s that? Yeah, that disturbs him. Yeah. So when he gets disturbed, he does a little preining and then he’s back to looking. Oh, he’s down there. Oh, he got something. See him swallowing it. something little. Cleaned it. Cleaned his beak. Washing it down. That’ll keep him happy for five minutes, I guess. Oh, look at that. That was a performance just for us, kids. Just for us. Amazing. He’s walking away. Thank you. He’s gone to the other side now. Maybe he figures that’s better. Anyway, he did it. He did it. Beautiful. Yes, some small fish. Anyway, let’s have a look through here. Then I’m going to walk back and I’m going to get some lunch. Saw that nice cafe. I don’t know what they have, but it looked nice. I’m going to head in there. So, we just take a little bit of a look back. Oh, they’re taking all the empty bottles away here. We were lucky. We were lucky. That was well timed. Catch a heron. Love this shot looking from here with the pine trees through here. We’ve got the no turtles that I can see anywhere. I love the view through the pine trees. Look, the bridge. Yeah. Oh, that tree branch is a bit in the way, but never mind. Anyway, kids, that’s it. We’ve done 55 minutes today. We’re getting longer and longer. Oh, turtle. Whoa. What did I say? Good timing. Turtle. And he’s gone under the water. There he is somewhere there. I just see his head. Where’d he go? Where’d he go? I can just see his head through there. A turtle anyway. One turtle. That was good. Thanks, Lisa. I hope you got lots of lovely shots. Thank you always for all your beautiful Instagrams. Love them. Love them. I get means I get to relive my my live stream. But let me turn the camera. Thanks everybody. Lunchtime. Lunchtime. Lunch with Louise today. But thanks so much for joining me and yeah, always remember, tread lightly, leave no trace. We’ll be back. And I’m going to walk back over the bridge. I’m walking back that way the to where I came from. Turtle is sort of still underwater over there. I can just see the top of its head. Take care everybody. Have a beautiful Tuesday. Remember, travel Tuesday. Get out. Go somewhere. Even if it’s just around the block. We live in a wonderful world. Look at this. Yeah. Oh, fantastic. You’re amazing. We do live in a wonderful world. We just don’t appreciate it, which is a shame. But take care, everybody. And we’ll see you all very soon. Take care. Thank you. Bye for now. Thank you. Meow. Meow. Meow. Lovely to see you all. Bye for now. Thank you.

  1. Thank you Louise for the amazing entertainment! This combination of natural and man-made beauty always leaves me in awe.

  2. Nice day at the park louise, I think you came here during spring last time and there was blossoms? I love the colour of the water and I tell you a spot on the grass and watching the birds with little snack would be a nice way to spend few hours.

  3. In my old age I prefer your park & nature walks as I used to do wildlife & plant ones when I was married before divorce & given up my driving licence because of eyesight.
