[A day in Yokohama] Chinatown Lunch | Observation Terrace | Minato Mirai Cafe | Ura Yokohama Bistro
Today’s walk starts at Nihon-Odori Station I’ll use the Minatomirai Line one-day pass. 460 yen. You’ll get your money’s worth if you ride it three times I went to Otamachi Street for lunch I was looking for mapo tofu Temporarily closed due to relocation… Where should I go? I can eat at Ariake Harbor Moon What should I do? It’s hot, so I’ll head to a Chinese restaurant that’s relatively close. But… Temporarily closed a popular restaurant, Raishanson Too bad Pulling myself together, I’m walking straight down Chuzan Road in the direction of the Kuan Ti Miao I also took a peek at the panda wall art I was going to make full use of the the Minatomirai line, but After all I’m walking, but that’s fine Relieving lack of exercise My job involves sitting in front of a computer all day I usually don’t walk at all I want to enjoy walking and improve my fitness as much as possible! And walking outside makes me feel better I believe it would be a great brain stimulator The Kuan Ti Miao comes into view Chojo Hanten is popular for its good value for money I’ll have lunch here A part of the menu
The beef lunch in the middle below is apparently popular I chose the weekly lunch set of pork stewed in soy sauce. 700 yen. I like the beige and red tones, bright and cheerful The lunch comes with a salad, pickled mustard greens, and warm and pleasantly thick soup Lots of pork I don’t think I particularly like soy sauce, but This dish reaffirmed to me that soy sauce is delicious Rice tastes even better when eaten together This is chilled tantan noodles Noodles are thin and bean sprouts look thick Barikata (very firm) The fried rice was really tasty The texture of the lettuce was also good I loved the texture of this almond jelly (annin dofu) A restaurant I want to visit again It’s very close to the Kuan Ti Miao, so it’s easy to remember the location. A side note. Speaking of tantan noodles in Chinatown, here is a restaurant you’ll want to visit! Futaito Menbo I always order the lunch set (800 yen, I think). It comes with fried rice and almond jelly The almond jelly is refreshing
Perfect to have after a rich tantan noodles Very satisfying
I always enjoy a walk after eating a lot of carbohydrates For those who like Chinese curry,
try Botan-en’s beef brisket curry and mini wontons (700 yen) Lunch in Chinatown is a great deal It’s different from Indian curry, but the Chinese spices are great Eating out and about is popular in Chinatown these days, but It’s also nice to be able to relax and eat at a restaurant like this. To Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Minatomirai Line Photos (pictures?) that represent Yokohama Bricks were used at Bashamichi Station It has a stately atmosphere A dome with a feeling of openness. I really like this place It’s calming for some reason Go out from Exit 2a where Yokohama Kitanaka Knot is Head to the observation deck at Oakwood Suites, a well-known (?) hidden gem Kansai side The blue one is Yokohama Stadium Before the renovation, there were orange seats,
but now all the seats are blue, giving the space a fresher look The red one is CERTE, which is scheduled to be demolished Let’s take a photo while I have the chance There’s a fitness center A place where you can exercise while looking out at the sea There is also a stylish restaurant SMAAK By Jacob Jan Boerma It looks like a good place for an anniversary dinner Minato Mirai side Yes, this is the view of Minato Mirai I could see the AIR CABIN After taking a break on the bench, Resuming walks I went back to Bashamichi Station and headed towards Yokohama City Hall from Exit 1c When I stopped by the post office, I saw this sign nearby That’s right Crossing Sakura Mirai Bridge The night view here is beautiful, isn’t it? The “Akai Kutsu” bus that goes around tourist spots is running After shopping at Colette Mare Go to Landmark Plaza I’m thirsty so I’m going to take a break Antico Caffe Al Avis Yokohama Landmark Branch A café often used for meeting up It is convenient and has a relaxed atmosphere A place where conversation always flows Moving to Minatomirai Station Snoopy Balloon of Snoopy Town It looks new. Clean I love Snoopy. Thank you for always being there Heading from Minato Mirai to Yokohama From the west exit to the east exit, then crossing the Manri Bridge The area known as Ura Yokohama TEATORO PICCORO Cheers! Just to get some Vitamin C I got plenty of sunshine today! To get some taurine? Octopus and red shrimp salad I loved the texture of flying fish roe I thought I’d use it in my cooking at home Eating out gives me new insights Pâté de campagne Grilled type (not moist) Spicy chicken fritters Brown is delicious I often eat duck Chablisienne wine It was such a hot day that just seeing water droplets made me feel cool Chablis is great in summer A nice wine bottle can be used as an interior accessory Velena Pinot Grigio from Australia
Apparently you can buy it at Vinos Yamazaki There was a plate that looked familiar I had a wonderful time I wanted to buy Kiyoken’s Shumai at the station, but it was past closing time. Reading the “SALUS” magazine on the train ride home The feature is interesting, but I really like Dr. Haruo Saji’s essays I look forward to it every month I also looked at the guidebook I bought at Yurindo
I hope I can enjoy my summer trip Thank you for watching until the end.
One day in July 2025, I spent a day in Yokohama. I usually explore the Yokohama Bay Area on foot, but since it was hot that day, I used a one-day pass for the Minatomirai Line to get around. Whether it’s your first time or your first time, you can enjoy it again and again — I’d like to introduce you to a small piece of “Yokohama, where you can stop by with peace of mind.”
