Japan Travel Planning IN DEPTH: ALTERNATIVE Tokyo 5-Day Itinerary πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅βœˆοΈ

All right, good morning, good evening everybody. Bunga here and today we are going into another deep dive into our 5day Tokyo itinerary. Now, if you’ve watched the first stream, uh the first stream went through our keynote. Uh let me show this to you here real quick. And within this itinerary here, uh we went through how to set up your 5day itinerary. And so there’s a quite a there’s a schedule here that you can follow. And it’s just pretty much it’s five days here, your day one, day two, and it goes in pretty good detail. And of course, once again, I don’t like to put the time in the day. I leave it quite open. So that way when you are in a particular area, you have room to explore and search for things on your own. And I think that’s part of the fun of traveling here. Now, this is all part of my 5D itinerary that you can actually find in the store shop. And of course, if you get this 5D itinerary, uh you can go ahead and download it. Uh there’s a lot of great information here. A lot. Once again, a lot of this information that you’ll find in the 5D itinerary is not curated by an AI. All right? All the information you find in this 5D itinerary is actually put together by myself and my experience here on the ground and of course doing tours for the past actually I’ve been doing tours for almost like 7 years. Uh and so I’ve been doing this for quite a while. And so a lot of this is based on my experience actually on the ground. Uh the other thing that you’ll find very very useful in this 5day itinerary is when you hit these different days, there’s actually going to be a QR code here that you can actually scan and then it’ll actually have map pins of all the places I’ve gone to. So even though I’ve highlighted these different places here, if you go to the map pins, it’s going to give you a lot more details of the information there. And of course, there are just some information here on some useful apps that you can use while you’re in Japan. Uh these are these are the apps that I pretty much use on on on the day-to-day. Uh the Japan transit app is something that I feel is one of the most important apps. Uh the Suika app, of course, you need to be able to have Suika uh access to the train to get around. And of course, Google Maps. I think just these three apps alone are going to be very very useful. And of course, if you’re not too much of a train person, there’s also this little Go Taxi app over here also. Uh before I go into more of this, today’s main objective is to actually go into the alternative days for our itinerary. So in our first video, we talked about setting up five days, which is based on a it’s based on a very normal itinerary that most people will do when they come to Japan. You’re going to do Shibuya, you’ll do Shinjuku, you do Miji Jingu, you do all those things. And um some people think, oh, but those are kind of touristy. And I would say it’s not that they’re kind of touristy, they’re just the most popular spots. And if you’ve never been there when you come to Japan, you should actually go. Don’t just think, “Oh, it’s a tourist touristy spot and I need to avoid it.” They’re like that for a reason. Uh people go because there’s actually a lot to see and a lot to do in these particular areas that I have mapped out for you already. Now, in today’s video, we’re actually going to do a deeper dive into what I call day X. These are the bonus alternatives. Now, if you’re going to be in Tokyo for more than 5 days, there is enough stuff here to fill up 10 days in just Tokyo alone. That’s 10 days in Tokyo. If you were just 10 days in Tokyo, uh most people if you spend two weeks here, you’ll probably spend maybe the first three days in Tokyo, the last two days in Tokyo, and then you’ll do Kyoto, Osaka, uh maybe you’ll do Natada, maybe you’ll go to Nagano, maybe you go to Kanazawa, and then in the middle, you can mix it up with many other things. But the main thing is just for Tokyo alone, there’s enough material here for to do different things. And this is what we’re going to go through today. Uh, in today’s video, the main thing is to go over these alternative days that you can use to customize this 5day itinerary. So, you can see the things that you want to see and do the things that you want to do without actually following my set schedule that I put here already, but now what you’re doing is you’re customizing it to cater to your interest. And this is one of the the things that I really really like about my 5-day itinerary and I what I feel makes it very very special because different people have different interests and everybody has you know some people like Japanese culture some people want to just eat Japanese food. I have a whole thing here on just food if that’s what you’re interested in. Okay, if you scan that QR code, this is like all the places that I go and eat. But this is all part of my Tokyo 5day itinerary. Um, if you haven’t gone yet, I definitely recommend downloading. Once again, a lot of the things you can find here, you can spend hours and hours and hours and compile and build your own list. But why go through all that time when I’ve already put it together for you and then from here I have all the map pins all set up already for you. You can take what’s in this itinerary and then you can add to it on your own. That’s the advantage of having this artinery. And of course, once again, this itinerary is put together by me, and these are places that I’ve actually been to on the ground. All right, so that’s my Tokyo 5D itinerary. I definitely recommend it. You can find it in my YouTube store. All right. All right. Uh let me check if I have any questions so far. Uh let’s see here. Okay. All right. So, uh, so the main thing today is we’re going to go through our alternative things and that’s what we’re going to be talking about today. And of course, feel free to follow along and then if you have any questions, you can, uh, write your questions down uh, in the chat if you have any questions that go beyond here. And once again, if you do want to check out things, you can just go to the store. It’s where I have all the things. Okay. So, uh, without further ado, let’s dive straight into the itinerary, shall we? Let’s jump straight into here. Let me pull up this. Okay. All right. So, from here, now we have your your 5day itinerary at a glance. And any of these five days here, you can swap out with a day X. I mean, you can swap out all of them if you wanted to. Uh, and of course you don’t have to go in this particular order, but this is the order that I usually recommend how to do things. Uh, this starts the furthest out and then this brings you closer. Depending on where you stay in Tokyo, you probably want to adjust this itinerary uh to your needs is what it it would be the best way. So, let’s scroll down here. Uh, let’s go to our Day X. All right. Uh, these are all these bonus alternatives. And of course, you can use these to swap out your different days. So, one of the first places I have on here is a little place called Kamakura. Uh, Kamakura is a very, very unique place. It’s for those of you who don’t have so much time and you’re not able to go to Kyoto, but still want to experience uh ancient Japanese temples and shrines and and eat some good food and things like that, you would go to Kamakura. uh Kamakura. I think it’s about a good I think it’s almost about a good twohour train ride if you take the local train uh from Tokyo station about an hour about an hour and a half to two hours to get to Kamakura and then you’re going to hit more going to go more south. Uh when you get to Kamakura uh let me just show you an ideal day where it’s going to start here. I’m going to open up a map so you can see this map. So, let me open up this map. Hold on. Let me get let me open up my map first so we can see that. All right. Okay. So, we’re going to start here. Com. Now, once again, if you have the if you have the Tokyo itinerary, all these places will be mapped out for you already. So, you can find that. Okay. So if you look here, I have all these little pinned places that you can go. And usually if you are here in Kamakura, it’s great to start at Kita Kamakura. This is the north station and then pretty much work your way down uh around here. There’s actually several places that are scattered out throughout this whole area. And this little area to my right hand side is a pretty good area to walk down. You can see a lot of things over here and work your way down to Kamakura station is what I would definitely recommend. There’s a lot of neat things on this little path that you can walk over here. Uh if you look over here, I also have a little explanation of each one of these places. You can just simply scroll over and you can see where each one of these are at. Okay, I think this uh this uh Sudu Goka Hachimangu uh is a Shinto shrine and this Tao Bridge. These are really really great places to go. This shrine is actually pretty pretty big and a lot of people will go visit here. And I would say along this little route here, this is a good place to end up and spend a little bit of time. It’s a great place to wander around. There’s other little things over here that you can see also, but I haven’t put on my itinerary. They’re just a little bit farther out. But these you have a good route. And if you get here early in the morning, say you start around a good 9 or 10:00, probably just walking from here down to Kamakod station, you can probably do that in about an hour or two. Um, if you’re taking a lot of time in each of the temples and shrines, it’ll you can do it in three to four hours. Um, if you’re just kind of like jumping in and jumping out and going through it rather quickly, you can do it in hour and a half, two hours. Uh, it just depends on you and your pacing. Once again, that’s why this schedule is made to be very, very flexible. So, let’s go back into the keynote. Uh, that’s why this schedule is made to be very, very flexible. And so, that way when you go to Kamakura, I put here you want to discover the shrines. uh first uh in the beginning and then from here around noon you can ride the electric whale railway to H station and to discover the rest of Kamakura would be ideal. Oh, I just noticed I put up here uh it’s about an hour on the Yokoska line from Tokyo station. Oh, it’s actually a lot closer. Sorry, I had said two hour and a half to two hours earlier, but actually only takes about an hour, but could take an hour and a half to two hours if you get lost. All right. Anyways, so the electric train, let me tell you a little bit about the electric train. I think this electric train is really, really the Enoshima electric uh railway is a really unique train to ride. It’s a very, very old train. It’s been around since the 50s, I think, or maybe it’s even older than that, but it’s a very old train. It’s got a lot of nostalgia and a lot of cool feel to it. So, if you’re looking for like kind of like uh this old Japan type feel, riding the train is one thing. And then when you get off the train and you’re down here at Kamakura station, find a good place to take a picture of the train when it’s coming around the corner. Those are things that I like to check out when I’m there. Uh also, when you get down here to Kamakura Station, it’s also a great place to take a break and have a lunch. Whether you get there at noon or you get there at 1:00 or 2, there’s actually several places in this area where you can have a really good lunch. Uh let’s go back in the map and uh I’ll show that to you. I’ll show that to you in the map. So when you’re back here in the map, this is where you are. So Kamakura station is right here. The electric railway, you can ride that and it goes all the way down over here. There’s a station over here called H Station. And then you’re going to get you’re going to walk off here. And then you’re going to walk up this street right over here to uh Kotokuin. This is where the big Buddha statue is. Probably one of the highlights in Kamakura. You can actually go inside of the big Buddha statue and you can actually look out through its eyes. It’s a very very popular place that a lot of people enjoy that they like to go see. So that’s going to be Kotuyan. Okay, that’s the big large Buddhist statue. And of course along the way over here in this area, you can also find a lot of food that you can eat also over here. Different places that you can eat. Uh if you pull up my my map pin with all the food places, you can actually see them all here. Uh the other place that’s interesting too is right over by Kamaka Station, there’s a bunch of little places that you can eat over here around the station too or if you just want to snack. So there’s several things over here. I mean, there’s a museum. There’s actually all kinds of things over here that you can find. Once you go past Tao Bridge, there’s actually different restaurants, foods, cafes, and things that you can find along the way. But this whole area here from here down to here is a really good uh place to explore. Most of these places will will close a little bit early. So, you can probably finish this area in a day, come back to Tokyo, be back in Tokyo by around 7 uh is how I would look at it. Okay. And this is one day in Kamakura is where you would be. Okay. The next day that you can uh pull out is a little place I like to call Enoima. Okay. So, Tokyo to Enoshima station is about a good hour and a half. And I would say if you get there in the morning, why don’t you tackle the the aquarium first? There’s a little aquarium there that you can go explore. It’s actually very very big. They have a lot of neat exhibits and things like that. And of course, if you like fish and things and you like aquarium, it’s great for families. It’s great for couples, it’s great for solo travelers. It’s pretty much great for everybody. And of course, it’s a great way to start the morning right around there. There’s several convenience stores, too, when you get to Enoshima Station if you just want to grab an ongiddy or a snack or thing like that. Uh while you’re here in this particular area is uh what you’ll find. So, let’s jump back into the map and I’ll show you what’s over here. Uh this area is a very fun place and you can easily spend a whole day here also very very easily. And one of my favorite things about Enoshima is that there’s a lot of good foods that you can eat when you’re exploring in this particular area. I just realized I was going through the itinerary here. This is the itinerary. So, in the morning you would go get to the aquarium. Noon, you’d actually explore Enoshima Island. And then in the evening, right around 6:00 is when you make your way back to Tokyo. All right. Now, let’s jump back into the map. All right. All right. Here we go. So, Enoshima Island is located right over here in this little area. This is Enoshi Nam station right down here. And then you can walk right down here along to the beach. And the beach is a great place you can take photos and check it out. And along this little bridge right over here and around this area, there’s also other cool things that you can see also. And then uh right over here is the aquarium. So Inoshima Aquarium is located right over here. Once again, it’s a great place to explore. As you can see, it’s got some really good reviews and it’s a great way to start the morning. And then probably once you finish there around noon, you can have lunch around there or have lunch around here. Don’t eat too much, but then you want to work your way down here to the actual Enoshima Island. It’s actually not I mean there’s one bridge that comes out to here. It’s actually more like a peninsula or something. Anyways, so this whole area, you can actually walk this, spend a good a good day walking up through this whole area. There’s a large shopping arcade right down over here where they sell a lot of foods and snacks. One of the most popular things that you can find here is these really large flat shrimp crackers that are really, really good. And those are things that you’ll see actually if you’re just walking in this particular area right over here. Okay. Uh the other popular place here is the Enoshima uh sea candle. Uh just so you know, I know you’re looking at this on a map, it looks pretty flat. Uh this actually goes up a hill and there are stairs and things that you go up. So there’s a lot of you want to have good walking shoes in this area. And on a hot summer day, you want to have bottled water and probably you want to pack yourself light so you can maneuver around here. Also, um if you want to go into Enoshi Enoshima Sea Candle, uh there is an extra charge for that too, just so you know. Uh but definitely definitely worth it to go explore over here. But uh this whole place here is you can start spending your afternoon here and just slowly work your way down. There’s a little trail that goes right around here until you go all the way down over here. There’s a shrine. There’s the love bell is kind of a thing for you couples out there. But one of my things is uh over this area over here where the caves are is a really really fun place to end up. And if you did it right, you should get here by the end of the day where it’s close to sunset. Uh in the summertime, of course, it’s going to still be sunny, so it doesn’t matter. But uh you’re going to work your way down here to this little cave area and beautiful view of the ocean. just a really really nice place to just uh kick back and relax and a lot of great things that you can see in this area. But definitely definitely a great way to spend a whole day and I would say it’s not too crowded here most of the times. Okay, and that is Enosima. All right, so let’s go back here to here. All right. Uh so once again the main thing here is eat the rice crackers uh visit the dragon love ball check out the candle and then if you can catch the sunset over uh the caves and things like that. All right. Uh the next thing on our alternative days here is I have this little place over here. This is uh Odiva and Toyosu. Uh Odiva is actually a it’s a manmade island and it’s a place that not too many people go to. Uh you’ll usually go to Toyosu if you’re going to go to Team Lab Planets or if you’re going to be checking out the uh fish market and uh that’s what most people will do in the morning. Um if you want to catch the fish auctions at Toyo. So, you probably want to get there around 500 a.m. Um, usually if you’re going to plan to do Odiva as an alternative day, I would say do this on your first or second day in Tokyo, especially if you’re jetlagged, right? Because you’re going to wake up like at 3:00 or 4 in the morning, you’re going be like, “Oh goodness, it’s 3:00 in the morning. What do we do?” Hop on a train and go down to Well, actually, if it’s 3 in the morning, there’s no trains. You got to wait till 4:00. But anyways, so if you if from 4 o’clock, if you hop on a train down the Toyosu market, you can actually go enjoy the fish auctions at 5 and have sushi for breakfast and kind of like explore this little area over here. And if you’ve made reservations for Team Lab Planets, you can also do Team Lab Planets here around midday and then get out to the main area of Adiba by probably after 1 or two and then spend the rest of the evening there and then make your way back to Tokyo. Like you can probably do this whole thing from from 5:00 a.m. in the morning all the way up until 8 in the evening. Uh that’s a long long day for some of you if you really are going to go hardcore. But a good thing to know is that there’s a little beach out here that you can go and relax on. So let’s jump in the map and let’s take a look at that so I can show it to you. Okay. So boom. Let me get my map ready and then I’ll show the map to you. So this is we’re jumping into Oda. Oops. Let me go to my All right. All right. Here we go. So, this is the Rainbow Bridge. You’re going to ride the Montreal out to here. Um, if you did Team Lab Planets, Team Lab Planets and Toyo Supermarkets over here, you’d actually ride the train from probably from Tokyo to Yurakucho and then you make your way out here and that’s on the Yurakucho line. You can make your way out here. And then there’s also you actually end up riding the Montreal over here. Uh there’s another place over here I forgot to mention is the outer market. Uh this is where the old fish auctions used to be, but the old fish market is still open. And this is still also a great place. A lot of people go here to explore and eat and find things to eat in the morning. Uh it’s also a great place to have sushi. if you want to look for knives and all those things, this little oldi outer market is a really a good place to explore. Once again, that’s depending on your your time and everything. But the key thing over here is you want to get over here to the Toyosu market. And the Toyosu market is where they have the fish auctions from 5:00 a.m. Now, if you miss the fix auctions and you get here like around 7 or 8:00, it’s totally fine. You can still go to the Toyosu market and actually see the area where they do it. And there’s actually QR codes on the wall where you can scan and they have videos and things that you can watch if you actually miss the actual auction itself. So if you want to go hardcore and you want to watch the auction, get there at 5. If you’re a sleepy head and you get there around 7 or 8, but you still want to learn about it, they have little videos that you can watch. Also, um, at least you’re there and you can check it out. Uh, Team Lab Planets is also over here. Uh, just remember there’s two uh there’s two Team Labs in Tokyo. There’s Team Lab Planets and then there’s Team Lab Borderless. And I would say both of them are worth visiting. Um, a lot of the people that I’ve talked to on my tours um said they’ve enjoyed both of them. I’ve had some people go to both because they enjoyed uh they’ve enjoyed the one so much they want to check out the other to see what it’s like. So, I would say Team Lab Planets is a definite must while you’re here. It’s a wonderful activity for for pretty much everybody. And uh one of my things is if you do go there, there’s a room where you can actually draw and then uh you give it to the person and they scan it and then you have your fish float on the wall. And I would say uh you should do that. Yeah, it’s very very cool. It’s not just for kids, it’s for the grown-ups, too. So you can enjoy it. Okay. All right. So anyways, back to it. So uh you’ve seen the fish market here. You’ve done Team Lab Planets. And there’s another place over here called uh uh Toyosu Senaku Bandai. It’s mainly food and everything over here. There’s also like an onen that’s quite popular over on this site also. Um, if you want to experience a Japanese onsen, of course, they always separate the men from the women. But if you’re curious about that, I’ve actually, if you’ve had a long day of walking around, uh, just doing the foot bath over here is very nice and you get this very beautiful view of the water and it’s just really, really great. Okay, so you’ve done the fish market, uh, you’ve done Team Lab Planets, uh, now what you want to do is you want to ride the Udicom line. It’s the Montreal. All right, it’s the Montreal. And the neat thing is the Montreal will take you out to the main area of Oda. Now, as you’re riding over here, um, if you wanted to, usually there’s a place over here called Tokyo Big Site. It looks like a bunch of gigantic upside down pyramids. And I say it’s a very, very cool place to go explore and check out. Um, if they don’t have events or anything going on over there, it’s actually quite quiet and probably quite boring. You probably just want to get off your train and then jump back on the train. Or if you’re on the train, you just I’m going to sneeze. Oh, hold on. No sneeze. But uh you can actually just ride the train and excuse me. Uh you can actually ride the train and then it goes right past it. So if you want to get off and go explore, it’s worth exploring. Or if you just want to kind of like just kind of cruise around. But it is quite a marvel to see. They usually will have a lot of conventions and things out here on Tokyo. Big site is what you’ll find. But I feel it’s a very very cool area to explore. There’s also like this giant saw that’s just I don’t know. It’s just very weird place. So if if you’re into like a very modern and weird Japan, I would say this Tokyo big site area is quite a cool place uh to check out. I think it’s a very neat place. Uh, from here if you ride the Montreal, it goes all the way down. If you wanted to, you can get off at the telecom center and then walk down over here. There’s the National Museum of Emerging Science over here. And I think the the uh it’s called a Mira is the museum. And if you’re interested in Japanese technology uh or not Japanese technology, but if you’re Oh, actually, yeah. If you’re interested in in uh robots and things like that, the the Midon is a great museum to go to. A great great for a family activity and great to just get out of this hot weather if you’re here in Japan uh during the the summertime. Uh because the National M the Minikon is just a great place to go explore and a great time to you can spend a couple hours there also exploring and checking out all the their modern uh exhibits. Uh from here you’re going to work your way. Uh if you walk over here, there’s the large unicorn Gundam. Uh this is actually really really popular amongst a lot of people. And during the daytime, it’s quite a thing to see. But one of the things I recommend that a lot of people don’t do is go visit the Unicorn Gundam at night. And if you go visit the Unicorn Gundam at night, in the evening, there’s actually shows they play on the mall wall. So, people will just sit around the the Gundam robot and then he lights up and his head moves and and then they play uh episodes on the wall. Uh you can grab a snack from the food court that’s there and you can just sit down and you can eat. It’s it’s just makes for a very fun evening if you’re just looking for a place to just go chill and relax. Uh there’s also a Statue of Liberty over here that you can check out that I’ve marked on the pin I I mapped out. And then of course there’s this little beach over here that you can walk out. And then a lot of people don’t normally make it out here to Da Park, but uh this is a place where they used to have cannons and stuff and they used to watch uh that’s where they used to protect Tokyo Bay. But you can still see the turrets and everything over here. There’s remnants of it. But it’s also a really neat place to explore. And there’s actually no people there most time. I only see like two or three people every time I go out here. And you get this really stunning view under the rainbow bridge. And also from underneath here, you can also see a very very nice view of Tokyo Tower. So this is a nice hidden little gem that you can actually find. And this whole area to explore is actually quite fun to explore. Uh there’s also, man, there’s actually more things in here that you can actually see that are just along this area. Uh the Tokyo Teleport Bridge. This little bridge itself is really neat to uh walk across also. But the main thing is this is the Oda area and uh I’ll leave that open for you to come explore on your own. But uh once again that’s also in our 5day itinerary uh if that’s what you want to look for. But this is a great great place to explore. Uh once again not too many people make it out to this particular area. Um if you’re only in Tokyo for 3 days, people will do Shibuya, Shinjjuku, Asakasa, and uh they don’t make it out here. But, uh, it’s a great alternative. It’s a cool place to explore. All right, let’s go back to our keynote and check out another alternative day. Okay, the next thing I have on here is Spacia X uh, overnight. So this is actually not quite I mean if you want to do a day trip you totally could but what I’ve done is I’ve actually chunked this into another part of another area to explore which is called Niko. Uh so it’s it’s actually two different days. Uh if you wanted to catch the Space X train in the morning and then come back to Tokyo in the evening, you could also do that if you didn’t want to do an overnight. But there’s a lot of places here to explore, especially for those of you who really enjoy like Japanese nature, uh, Japan nature. Uh, you want to get away from the big crowds in Tokyo. You want to play find a place that’s quiet and you want to discover a place that’s very, very off thebeaten path. The little place here I know as Kinagawa onen town is a very unique place to explore. And one of the best ways to get out there is to ride the Spacia X train. Uh it is about a 2-hour ride. It’s all reserved seating on the Spaceship X train. Uh there’s actually a video on my YouTube channel that you can actually find that actually goes through uh this whole area in a little bit more detail. I’m just going to do a brief overview. Uh but once again, if you want to learn more about Spaceship X, the train, and you want to learn a little bit more about Kinagawa onentown, these are places that I recommend. They’re totally off the beaten path. You don’t get a lot of guests that go out here and it’s just a great way to get away from the crowd and it’s definitely a place that I would recommend uh to go check out. And so you would ride the Spaceship X train and if you can, I recommend riding in the the cockpit uh not the cockpit lounge, but yeah, there’s like a there’s like a the cockpit uh lounge. Uh it’s like a it’s like a it’s like a bar, but they also serve different foods and everything’s there. And if you sit in that car, you have uh full access to it, so you can get it anytime you like. If you sit in any of the other reserved seating on the train, you can also go to the cockpit lounge to get things. Uh but you have to get a special ticket, so you can actually go there. So just be aware of that. The cockpit lounge might not be open to everybody unless you get a special pass or you’re sitting in the cockpit lounge itself. Okay. Uh one of the neatest things about uh Spacia X once again uh their private cars where you have private seating and like you have your own little booth and everything. Those are very very cool places to just kind of like sit and uh relax. Then you get a a beautiful view of the Japanese countryside and as you’re riding through the train and you can just take a lot of pictures out here. And so part of that is just getting it’s a 2-hour ride from uh you have to go to Asakusa uh that’s over by uh Sensoji Temple and uh and from Asakusa station uh you can catch the Spaca X train. Uh so when you make reservations for Spaceship X, just be aware that uh the station also serves other trains that go to Niko and also goes to Kinaw on town. I think it’s like the Tobu something something. I can’t remember the name up off the top top of my head, but um hold on. I’m going to drink a water. But there’s several trains that come out of that station. So if you’re going to make a reservation for Spacia X train, make sure you do the RA reservation for Spacia X train. Okay? And this is definitely something that I recommend. So uh let’s go check this out. I’ll pull out the map and then we can explore the area a little bit more. Uh let’s go here. Okay, here we go. So, there are two sides to this. This is Nikico itself and then over here is Kinagawa owns town. As you can see, it’s quite a large area to cover. Uh that’s why I recommend the overnight. Uh if you if you can, I think the overnight is a wonderful experience. Uh if you take the Spacia X, Spacia X, you can actually take it to this side or this side. So just remember, you can choose. Uh but I took when I when I rode K when I took Spat X, I went out to Kinagawa on town. It’s kind of more of a forgotten place and so that’s why I wanted to go all the way out here. But uh when you get out here to the station, Kinawen, there’s quite a lot of places. Now, uh I had a rental car when I drove around this area, but you don’t have to have a rental car. You can actually explore this area on foot. It just takes a little bit more time. I got a rental car because it just helps me to get around more easily, and it was raining the day I got there, so I didn’t want to walk around. Uh but you can easily, if you were just walking around, this is a great place to walk around and explore. Uh it’s kind of a mix of many, many different things. These are actually food places that I actually have marked up. Uh there’s several hotels in this area you can check out. Uh the bridges are actually wonderful places that you can explore. Um if you like to fly drones and things, this is one of the few areas in Japan you can actually fly your drone and not get in trouble. And so uh but just be aware that you do still need to follow the drone rules and regulations and the laws when you fly in this area. But uh it’s very open enough where you can definitely do that. Uh there’s actually quite a lot of bridges that you can explore here. You can spend the day just kind of like just hiking around here. There’s actually a river boat that goes along here too. Uh you can actually ride the river boat and the river boat you can just like ride down here which is actually quite a thing. Uh but the main thing is uh food. This area is all about food and its attractions to just go explore. I think one of the uh this parfait place over here, they do cake in a can, which is uh I thought was quite fascinating and that was pretty good. Uh just walking out to this area, there’s cool places. And then there’s another place over here that does a really really good udon. Uh if you have udon in Tokyo, it’s a little bit more thicker and a little bit more fatter. But the udon here in this particular restaurant, it’s like thin. It’s like more like a a thin udon. It’s very very different. Very nice texture too, but uh super good and very very reasonable prices. Okay. And so this is Kinagawa owns town. Now the other place here that’s pretty interesting to explore is this little place called Tobu World Square. Uh here you can probably take the train uh from Kinawen down to Kosagawo and then just walk up to this place right over here. And this place is a fun place to explore. It’s got like all these little Japanese miniatures of different places around the world. It’s It’s just totally random. And it has different things about Japan, but it has other things from around the world that you’ll find that are quite cool, too. But to Tobu World Square is another one of those places that people have no idea that actually exists. And I always think that it’s one of those wonderful hidden gems uh that you can actually uh check out uh if you’re in this area. Uh you can easily spend 2 to three hours just here uh alone, which is quite cool. Uh another thing that’s kind of interesting here, there’s a little place over here called Edeto Wonderland. Uh if you’re traveling with a family, I think these places are great activities for families. uh get you out of Tokyo, get you away from the crowds and just really partake and learn more about Japanese culture and Japanese history. Edeto Wonderland, of course, takes place during the Edeto period uh in Japan. And it’s really really quite a cool place uh to explore is what you’ll find over here. Okay. All right. So, once you’ve explored all these places and you’ve had a great day, uh you can head back up here to Kinagawa once in town. And once again, uh you can you can either crash over here or if you think you’ve seen enough and it’s too quiet, you can hop on a train and go back to Tokyo if you wanted to do that. Uh but easily you can spend the whole day here. Uh the little onen uh hotel I spent the night out over here. Uh there was like no one else that was there. I think I had like the whole onen to myself. So, if you’re one of those shy people, but you want to try an onsen, this is actually a cool place to do it. I know everyone goes to Hakone. Uh, that’s like a big place, but why Hakone when you can go here? This place is pretty cool. All right, so that’s Kinagawa onen town in a day. Uh, let’s hop back here to this uh once you’ve explored all these areas over here. Uh every like I said everything usually closes early in Kinagawa onen town and so the only thing that’s open in the evening are the food places and so I had a bowl of ramen and went back to the hotel soaked in the onen and just went to bed and woke up early the next day. That’s how I did it. Now after that if you decide to stay and you spend the night the next place you can go to is Niko. Uh Niko is a really really wonderful place. there’s it’s rich in Japanese culture and history and if you really really want to experience like Japanese culture and history and really experience like the old temples this is a very unique area and then of course the uh Niko Toshugu the shrine itself is uh where they say the remains of Tokugawa uh he is one of the one of the great uniters of Japan. His resting place is could possibly be here. Uh usually when someone of of Tokugawa status dies, they actually uh after they bury him, they burn the ashes. They’re actually in two different places. So, you really don’t know which is the real place. But maybe he’s really actually here. Anyways, the point is you can actually spend the whole day in Niko. All right. So, you got to go to this station. Uh, Tobouniku station is where you’re going to go. And I would say you want to work your way out first and then work your way back into the main area because the the waterfall and Lake uh Jizenji uh these areas are actually quite far out and if you don’t have a chartered car or a vehicle or rental, uh you will have to take the bus out to this area. Um, and it’s pretty good and everything, but it’s a little bit far out. So, let me show you what that looks like on the map. So, we can look at that. Okay, back to our map. So, now we are on this other side. This is Tobu Niko right over here. Okay. Uh, this whole little town area is a great place to explore, but I want to save that for last. You hop on a bus and just go all the way out to here by Kon Falls. Uh the waterfall is a very very beautiful waterfall. And for those of you who love nature, who once again, if you want to get away from everything, this area is absolutely gorgeous. And there’s a bus that goes right up into this area. And then of course, once you take the bus up to this area, you can actually walk around uh down around this area. There’s a couple of things that you can see. Uh it’s mostly like small shops and things, but uh there’s another there’s another shrine down here, Jenji Temple. That’s cool to explore. Uh if you want to ride a lake boat, you can do that also. Uh and explore the lake. Uh but the main thing is you want to check out the falls. There’s another shrine and there’s other things up here that you can explore. Uh but uh I haven’t really put that on my itinerary. But once again, because this all depends on what type of transportation you have to get out here. Okay. I’m not I think there’s a bus that goes out here that you can catch also. But this whole area easily takes several hours to explore. Uh the places are quite spread out. Um my experience is whenever I go to this particular area, I’m usually in a car uh driving around and I do see tour buses and things that go out here. Uh and of course a private chartered car. Uh but the main thing is the bus. Uh this ropeway is also a great place to explore. Uh once again, a lot of these things are pinned on my map over here. Uh these are in the Tokyo itinerary um if you want to look at those. All right. So once you’ve explored this area, what you want to do is you want to slowly start working your way back towards Tobuniko station and that’s where you’re going to go visit this shrine over here. That’s uh Niko Toshogu. Uh this is pretty much the place that everybody goes to visit. Uh it’s a very very popular uh shrine and it’s definitely a place that is worth visiting. Uh you can spend a lot of time there. uh to learn about Japanese history and all those sort of other things. But it’s definitely a wonderful place that is definitely uh a must- visit place uh in this area. And then from there after you’ve uh explored around this whole area um and seen the pagota and all that other stuff, uh the next thing is you want to work your way down to Shinko Bridge. And Shinko Bridge is a very beautiful place, too. Oh, I forgot to mention if you haven’t had lunch and you just were at the falls and you came back and you haven’t had lunch, uh there’s different places over here where you can eat. Also, I think over by Nisho Niko Toshiku, there’s several small restaurants uh maybe like a small cafe and thing that you can find um if you’re looking for something to eat. But you can find that in that area also. Uh but then there’s this beautiful little bridge over here called uh Shinko Bridge and it’s just a beautiful little red bridge that’s uh very very popular amongst everybody that you can go see. And then of course once you go down here from this area making working your way back to Tobano once again there’s little shops, restaurants and food that you can uh find uh over here that are actually quite interesting uh if you’re in that particular area. I have here one of my highlights. Uh uh you can eat what’s called yuba tofu. There’s actually several shops in the area that sell the yuba tofu that are actually quite uh delicious. And also buckwheat soba is definitely something that you can eat uh in this area. Uh but the main thing is uh you can have a late lunch, you can have snacks, you can buy souvenirs and things like that. And then by the time you’re done with that, then you can slowly make your way back here to Toby Niko station to get back here to uh Tokyo. Okay, there you go. Uh let’s go back here to our keynote. So we’ve covered our day x alternatives once again. Let’s do a small recap of that. Uh, Kamakura is where we is one of the days that you can swap out. Uh, Enoshima, we talked about that. It’s a little further down. Uh, Odiva and Toyosu closer to Tokyo. And then, uh, Spacia X, uh, a little excursion that you can do. Um, if your time is short in Tokyo, uh, but you wanted to experience, uh, a luxury train and get out and see some different things. uh Kimigaw onen town and Niko are the other places that I recommend. Uh once again uh these parts that we talked about in our itinerary, these are all alternatives to the original 5 days here that you can find. So if you think about all these things that I’ve talked about, the 5day itinerary actually has a total of 10 different things that you can experience uh for 10 different days. So, if you were just in Tokyo alone, you can actually expand my 5day itinerary and just do 10 days in Tokyo and all the external places. I mean, if you really want want to do that. But the main thing is is I know most people’s time is short in Tokyo. But, uh this these are the main five days that I recommend, but these are the alternatives that you can also experience now. And these are what we just talked about. Okay. All right. Uh if you haven’t already, if you haven’t checked it out yet, uh once again, the Tokyo 5-day itinerary is now available from my YouTube shop. Uh once again, uh this I put this together. This is based on a lot of the walking tours I do here uh in Tokyo. A lot of the private walking tours I I’ve done here. And and once again, what makes this itinerary very very unique? Once again, it’s not put together by an AI. All right? This is actually done by a real human being who’s actually been to the areas. Um, I’ve lived here in Tokyo for 20 years. I’ve done a lot of these walking tours and I feel like this is uh these are a lot of the things that most people will want to see and I definitely recommend that. So, please check it out and if you haven’t already, purchase it and download it uh to help you get started planning your trip out here uh to Japan. Uh once again, um as you’re planning your trip to Japan, if you like to learn more about Japan, uh you can check out these videos on my YouTube channel. Uh planning your Japan trip. These are things that you should do before you come to Japan. Uh while you’re planning your trip and getting everything set up and then of course once you’re here on the ground, uh these are things that you can expect uh your first hour in Japan and your first 24 hours. These are just things that you can do to get you started to help make sure that your uh Japan holiday goes very very smooth. Um if you need to learn about Japanese etiquette and all those things, uh this video here, don’t do this in Japan, is definitely a video that I recommend uh watching. Also, uh this these four videos here are a great set that you can watch. It gives you a great uh a good base foundation of what to expect when you’re coming here uh to uh Japan. Uh, I’ll put these two QR codes up on the screen. If you have your phone with you right now, if you’re watching this on a TV, if you want to access any of my private tours, uh, you can scan this QR code over here. And once again, if you just want to access my YouTube channel, uh, that’s what is over here also. Okay. And these are once again, these are a lot of apps that you can uh download. These are the apps. Once again, these are all the things that are in my Tokyo 5day itinerary. Uh so you can download that. Okay. All right. That could we can actually start to wrap up our video here. Uh let me answer some of the questions uh in the chat before we close out today. Uh just came back from Japan a couple of weeks ago. Uh this is questions from Joe. Uh just came back from Japan a couple of weeks ago and went to Hakuba and to experience a ton of nature for a few days. So worth it. Hiked up to Hako too. Do you still do ramen tours? That’s a good Oh, cool. Uh, yes, I do do ramen tours. Uh, still. Uh, let’s talk about the tours I do here. Uh, that’s a great question, Joe. Thank you for asking. Uh, we do So, here’s what I do. I’m an independent uh contractor. I run private walking tours and private photo walking tours. Uh, those are what I do. U, but I’ve also partnered with Tokyo Ramen Tours where I do ramen tours and street food tours. Um, if you use my code here, there’s a little code that you can use here called Bonga. And I’ll have the QR code up here on the screen. Also, you can scan this and go to the Tokyo Ramen Tours website. Use my code Bonga to get 10% off on the ramens. Uh, what’s neat about the ramens is that we actually have several different routes that you can actually take. There’s the Shibuya route, there’s the Shinjuku route, uh, we also have the uh, Ueno route. So, we actually have several different routes that uh you can actually take. There’s also a vegan route for those of you who are vegan or vegetarian. Uh we also do a a vegan street food tour uh that uh that we run also. Oh, nice. Thank you, Joe. 2023. Come back to Japan. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. So, we have all So, I’m still doing the food tours. Just remember these are are a little bit different from my my private tours, but use this QR code and connect with us here. And do use my code. Use code BA and you’ll get 10% off on any of the tours. Um, the best way to do it, I would say do a street food tour and do a ramen tour. Uh, if you can do a street food tour one day and a ramen tour another day, those are just great ways. And if you’ve been on our ramen tours already, if you’ve done any of our routes, please check out the alternative routes that you haven’t been you have, maybe you haven’t been yet, too. Uh the UNO route is uh one of my favorite routes. Uh there’s a shop, there’s a ramen shop on that route that I actually discovered that I love sharing with people. Okay. Uh the other tours I work with is uh Patia’s Kitchen. Uh this is a ramen cooking class. They also do a wagyu cooking class and they’re also coming up with a bunch of new cooking classes uh coming up. But uh one of their big things is their ramen cooking class. Uh what makes their ramen cooking class very unique is that they make their noodles from scratch. So you’re actually making the noodles from scratch and they also do a nice little supermarket tour. Uh they’ll actually take you through a Japanese supermarket. You’ll get to go through all the ingredients and then you could write down a list of all the things that you can make and then of course uh the culmination of the tour is you go to the cooking studio and you actually get to cook your ramen from scratch. So the noodles, the soup, just everything. It’s it’s a wonderful wonderful experience. There’s also a video on my YouTube channel about it. Uh, but this is Patia’s Kitchen. And if you use my code here, Patia 258, you can get 5% off your booking for Patia’s Kitchen also. So, yes, you can use these codes to get discounts uh for these tours. And these are tours that I definitely would recommend when you are here in Tokyo if you want to have a very, very unique Japan experience. And especially if you love ramen, uh, go on our ramen tours to eat ramen and then go to Patia’s kitchen and learn to cook ramen on your own. So these are fun things that you can try. Oh, nice. Nice. Very cool. Yeah, I think uh Japan is such a great place. It’s like uh uh you come once, you come back and uh it’s still a lot to uh explore. So with everything that we talked about today, um I hope there’s some alternatives here that you’ve yet to explore. Uh these are great things that I I would recommend with you and uh recommend for everybody to do. All right. Uh I think that’s all for today. I think uh it’s uh that was a good hour to spend with you. Uh thank you for the questions. Uh Drew, uh thank you for coming to the channel. Uh uh we’re still a small growing YouTube channel. So if you have friends or family who are planning a trip out to Japan, please share them my channel. Uh share them my itinerary. Um like I said, a lot of the videos on my channel are based on the conversations I’ve had with people like you who have been here to Japan. And uh I do this because I want to keep uh helping people and sharing uh Japan’s culture uh when you come out here. And of course, once again, if you book one of my private tours, one of our food tours, who knows, uh you’ll get to come out here and you can hang out with me and I can take you around personally. Uh it’s it’s we can have a lot of fun together. Uh so, thank you everybody for watching our live stream today and uh we look forward to seeing you on your next trip uh in Japan. And of course uh before you come, please keep checking out our videos. Uh, one of my new series that I’m working on right now is the Yamanote series. Uh, still hasn’t caught traction yet, but uh, we’re still tackling all the lines on the Yamanote line. And then the most recent video I did was Daikaku parking area. That’s a great video, too. So, uh, thank you everybody for watching today. It’s been a pleasure hanging out with you. Uh, thank you, uh, Joe for your comments and jumping in, uh, here and for everybody else. And if anybody else if you have any other questions or comments about uh traveling out here to Japan, uh do comment on the video or send me a DM from Far Side Japan, I’m more than happy to work with any of you to help you customize your itinerary and to help you plan your trip out here to Japan. That’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to help you. Uh that way when you come to Japan, it makes a trip a lot smoother so you don’t have to stress out about planning things and looking for things. Okay. All right. With that, I’ll see you on the next round. And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to subscribe to the channel.
