我們點了滿滿一桌:炭烤比內雞肉、烤比內雞肝、烤比內雞肉包蒜粒、芥末燒賣、吞拿魚蓉、味噌蘿蔔條,還有日本東北引以為傲的新鮮海鮮刺身。每一道菜都散發著誘人的香氣,令人食指大動。其中,最讓我驚豔的是烤比內雞肉包蒜粒。薄切的雞肉包裹著飽滿的蒜粒,經過炭火的洗禮,外酥內嫩,蒜香四溢。即使平常不太愛吃蒜的我,也完全被這道菜征服了,這道比内地雞料理絕對是必點!

除了美食,我們還點了兩瓶東北純米吟釀清酒。清酒口感清爽,入口回甘,完美地平衡了燒鳥的濃郁風味,也讓我對宮城清酒文化產生了濃厚的興趣。想體驗道地的仙台夜生活,清酒是不可或缺的一環

As night fell, the streets of Sendai twinkled with lights. On this Japan Tohoku trip, a local friend brought me to Sumibiyaki Torikko Bundaten, a hidden yakitori gem in Bunka Yokocho, Ichibancho, Aoba Ward, Sendai City. It was truly an authentic Sendai gourmet experience and the perfect choice for a Sendai late-night dining spot!

Pushing open the wooden door of Torikko Bundaten, the aroma of charcoal filled the air, and warm lights illuminated the lively scene. This place specializes in Hinai Jidori, the famous chicken from Tohoku, Japan, paired with junmai sake from Miyagi Prefecture—a double delight for the taste buds. If you’re looking for Sendai izakaya recommendations, this place definitely deserves a spot on your list.

We ordered a table full of dishes: charcoal-grilled Hinai Jidori chicken, grilled Hinai Jidori liver, grilled Hinai Jidori chicken wrapped with garlic, wasabi shumai, tuna paste, miso daikon sticks, and fresh sashimi, a proud offering of Tohoku, Japan. Every dish exuded an enticing aroma, making our mouths water. Among them, the grilled Hinai Jidori chicken wrapped with garlic surprised me the most. Thinly sliced chicken enveloped plump garlic cloves, grilled over charcoal until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with garlic flavor. Even though I’m not usually a big fan of garlic, I was completely won over by this dish – a must-try Hinai Jidori dish!

Besides the food, we also ordered two bottles of Tohoku junmai ginjo sake. The sake was refreshing and subtly sweet, perfectly balancing the rich flavors of the yakitori. It also sparked my deep interest in Miyagi sake culture. To experience authentic Sendai nightlife, sake is an indispensable part.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and comfortable. The warmth of the charcoal and the soft lighting made us unconsciously unwind. I heard that if a customer is celebrating a birthday, the staff even plays a birthday song on the saxophone – how creative!
