【フェリー旅】世界2位の橋の下を通過する体験が最高すぎる… ジャンボフェリー「あおい」 香川→神戸【明石海峡】

Hello everyone, in this video we take a 110km, 5-hour voyage aboard the Jumbo Ferry “Aoi” from Takamatsu East Port in Kagawa Prefecture to Kobe Port in Hyogo Prefecture . My name is TOMONI , and this boat trip will start from Takamatsu Station in Kagawa Prefecture. When you think of Kagawa Prefecture, the first thing that comes to mind is probably udon. It’s now past 1pm , so I had a hearty bowl of udon for lunch that day. I didn’t take a video, but I ordered meat bukkake udon and a variety of tempura. The texture of the udon is completely different from what you’ll eat elsewhere. It might be a good idea to visit Kagawa just to eat udon. So, I’m heading to Takamatsu Higashi Port, where Jumbo Ferry operates . The most common way to get there is by shuttle bus from Takamatsu Station. The bus had the words Jumbo Ferry written on it, which was a little exciting, so let’s get on. There are about 15 minutes left until the bus departure time, but it’s still hot outside, so it ‘s very convenient to be able to sit and wait in the air-conditioned bus. Anyway, the bus arrived at 1:30, right on schedule. It takes about 10 minutes to get from Takamatsu Station to Takamatsu Higashi Port, but if you walk it will take just under an hour, so I was grateful for the free shuttle bus and arrived at Takamatsu Higashi Port in no time. This is the Jumbo Ferry “Aoi” that I will be boarding today . Normally, I would introduce the specifications of the ship here , but since we don’t have much time before boarding , I will put off the introduction of the specifications and go inside the terminal first . This is the Jumbo Ferry waiting room. Some people who have not yet purchased a boarding ticket need to go through the procedure at the reception here, but since I have already made a reservation online, I will not use the reception. The whole waiting room is a large space like this, and there are facilities such as vending machines and a small game corner, as well as a restaurant where you can eat. Although it is only on weekdays, they also have a daily lunch menu. Now, let’s wait for a while until it is time to board. After we started waiting, the boarding announcement started to be made about one minute later. “Aoi” The departure time is 2:00 p.m., so we will board 15 minutes before departure. As you all know, long-distance ferries such as the famous “Sunflower” often begin boarding one hour before departure , but for short- to medium-distance ferries like this Jumbo Ferry, the time between boarding and departure tends to be shorter. Personally, I like to take a quick stroll around the ship before departure , so I prefer to board early before departure. What do you think? Please feel free to comment. While I was saying this , I used the QR code that I had saved on my smartphone beforehand to board the “Aoi” , and it was very impressive to see so many containers loaded on the way. So, I went up the stairs and arrived at the passenger area. The passenger area is from the second to fourth floors. The entrance lobby on the second floor has an open design inspired by Shodoshima’s cultural heritage, “Nakayama Senmaida” . There is a piano in the center, and it seems that this piano has the ability to play automatically. Wow, it’s amazing, isn’t it? And here is the floor map on the second floor . This time, I have reserved a premium seat, room “2C”. In fact, as stated on the Jumbo Ferry official website , taking photos and videos inside the room is prohibited. You can take photos in common areas such as the entrance lobby, but please understand that in accordance with the rules, you cannot take photos inside the room. So , after leaving our luggage in the room, we headed up to the rooftop to watch the departure. By the way, the room we were using this time was a premium seat called the “Nobinobi Seat”, so we could stretch our legs and relax like this. The price was 2,390 yen per adult in total, and since we could use the special facilities that I will introduce later, I thought it was a very good price. Since I couldn’t take pictures of the room , I moved around and introduced the room, and before I knew it , we had arrived at the rooftop observation deck. This observation deck is called the “Sky Terrace” and is characterized by a grassy area. Some viewers may think that the grass is small, but don’t worry. The “Sky Terrace” has another area above, and although the entire area is covered with grass , there is no roof, so the sunlight is intense. When I looked at the stern side, I saw a silver cat sitting there. I was a little surprised by its unusual design, but this cat was designed to bring happiness, and is called “SHIP’S The character is called “CAT”. By the way, the view from the bow side looks like this. The area on the right side in the front is called “Light Terrace” and you can actually go there. So let’s wait here at the “Sky Terrace” until the departure time. “Aoi” departed Takamatsu East Port on schedule . I didn’t have time to introduce the specifications of the ship earlier, so I will introduce them here. Once again, the specifications of the Jumbo Ferry “Aoi” look like this. I will take a walk around the ship later, but this “Aoi” The interior of the ferry is based on the concept of a “terrace resort floating in the Seto Inland Sea”. Taking advantage of the spacious passenger compartment , the ferry incorporates olives, a symbol of Shodoshima, as a design motif to create a high-quality, playful resort space. The ferry will stop at Shodoshima on the way and is scheduled to arrive at Kobe Port at 6:45 in the evening, so it will be about a 5-hour voyage. Before you know it, you will be away from land and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea are visible in front of the ferry . I enjoyed the view from the “Terrace in the Sky” for a while, but the direct sunlight started to become too much for me, so I decided to go inside the ship. The air conditioner was working hard inside the ship and it felt like I was coming back to life. So, let’s take a stroll around the ship, as is customary for this channel. The starting point is the second floor entrance lobby , which is also where we boarded . There is also a shop here, but we will visit it later, so for now, let’s just check the location. Next to the shop is the entrance to the premium facilities, so let’s go there right away. By the way, even those with unreserved seats can use the premium facilities by paying an additional 500 yen. The first thing we saw was a pet-only area, and next to it was the cafe lounge “Komame.” This cafe lounge offers freshly brewed self-serve coffee made with beans from Toy Coffee in Takamatsu, a famous coffee roaster , for the bargain price of 100 yen per cup . It has a slightly hidden away atmosphere, and you can see the Seto Inland Sea from the window, so I almost ended up staying for a while, but let’s go back to exploring the ship. In this area, there is also a cabin with reclining seats called “2A,” and next to it is a door that leads to the outside. From this door, you can go to places called the “Wind Terrace” and the “Light Terrace,” so let’s head there right away . This is the “Wind Terrace.” Cutting through the wind, we head This is a space where you can feel one with the Aoi. The other “Terrace of Light” is at the top of these stairs, but the stairs are quite steep, so you need to be careful. This is the “Terrace of Light”. Perhaps because we were wearing windbreakers, there was almost no wind on the terrace , so we could leisurely enjoy the wonderful scenery like this. We continued enjoying the scenery, but the direct sunlight was quite hot, so we returned to the ship after about 5 minutes. There is one more place to introduce in this premium-only facility area , which is this place called “Cloud Bath”. However, it is currently being cleaned, so we decided to visit it later, and returned to the entrance lobby. This is the “Stone Playground”, a kids’ space. There were many families with children on this day, and it seemed that the little ones were playing in this area and having fun. Next, we went to the cafe “Umageya” next to the shop. The “Umage” in the name means “nice, nice-looking”. This is apparently a Sanuki dialect word that means “to be quiet.” At Umageya, they serve delicious gelato and drinks , as well as meals like udon noodles. Next door, there are even seats just for udon, so you can really feel their commitment to udon. Now that we’ve finally finished introducing the second floor, let’s go up the stairs to the third floor. This is the lobby around the staircase hall in the center of the third floor. Don’t you think it has a rather unusual design? This area on the third floor seems to have been designed with the image of soy sauce production, a traditional industry on Shodoshima in mind. In addition to private rooms and other guest rooms, there is a vending machine corner selling frozen foods for when you get hungry, and a game corner, which is a familiar sight on ferries. Next, let’s head to the rooftop where the observation deck “Sky Terrace” where we watched the departure earlier is located. When we watched the departure, we went to the upper area, but this time we will head to the lower area. Although the “Sky Terrace” we saw earlier is on the rooftop, it is actually on the 4th floor, so we are now on the 3rd floor. We went down further and arrived on the 2nd floor. On this external deck on the 2nd floor , we found what is probably the only smoking room on this ship. At this point, the distinctive blue and white funnel is right in front of us, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get any closer. We continued through the general passenger area with unreserved seats and headed to the entrance on the 2nd floor. Now that we’re back in the Lance Lobby , I think we’ve finished exploring the ship. My throat is getting dry from all the walking around the ship, so I’ll enjoy my voyage while drinking a Kirin Lemon that I bought from a vending machine. I was lazing around on the ship for a while, but then an announcement was made that we were about to arrive at Shodoshima, so I came to the “Sky Terrace.” Shodoshima is an island in Kagawa Prefecture that floats in the Seto Inland Sea. It has an area of about 153 square kilometers and a population of about 26,000 people. It is the second largest island in the Seto Inland Sea after Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture . As you all know, Shodoshima is also known as the birthplace of olive cultivation , and the island is dotted with idyllic olive fields reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea and Greek-style olive shrines . And since it’s Kagawa Prefecture, it’s not just udon that’s famous, but hand-pulled somen noodles. Personally, somen noodles are a meal that I often eat both in summer and winter, so I went to the Azuki Islands just to eat somen noodles. While I was talking about how I’d like to take a boat trip to visit islands , we arrived safely at Shodoshima. Unfortunately, we ca n’t disembark while the ship is docked, so let’s take the opportunity to go to the “Kumo no Yu,” a premium-only facility that was being cleaned earlier. This “Kumo no Yu” has entrances to the large baths for men and women, as well as a foot bath. This foot bath is called the “Umi no Terrace,” and you can rent towels, so you can use it empty-handed, which is a nice feature. Now, let’s head to the “Umi no Terrace.” The “Umi no Terrace” is a spacious glass balcony with an excellent view. We are currently docked at Shodoshima, but while we are in operation, you can enjoy the view of the Seto Inland Sea flowing by . So, while I was introducing the “Umi no Terrace,” it seems that the “Aoi” will be leaving Shodoshima , so I hurried to the “Kaze no Terrace” at the front of the ship. Shodoshima The ship was docked for just over 15 minutes, which was a short stay, but we set sail again for our final destination, Kobe Port. We are scheduled to arrive at Kobe Port at 6:45 in the evening , so we have about 3 hours left. Since we don’t have much time, we decide to go to the shop, and we arrived there. The shop has a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere , and sells a wide range of products, including Kobe souvenirs, olives from Shodoshima, the island we were just in , as well as regular sweets and original Jumbo Ferry goods, so just looking at them makes me happy. So, I bought the Mifune-in, a regular feature of this channel. As with the name of the ship, the whole thing is based on blue , and I personally feel that the artistic value is quite high. I buy the Mifune-in every time, but they also sell a keychain version, and I was just looking for a keychain, so I bought one. I ended up buying it . Can you tell? The back side also has the Gofune-in characters written on it, and it is reproduced down to the smallest detail . After finishing my shopping, it was time to get hungry , so I thought about ordering udon for a bit, but after some deliberation, I decided to order gelato. It was 600 yen, which is a bit expensive compared to convenience store ice cream, but it came with two, so I was very satisfied. Now, let’s continue enjoying our cruise while eating our gelato. A little time has passed since then, and I, TOMONI, am once again visiting the “Terrace of Light” at the front of the ship. The reason I’m here is to go to Kobe Port, and some viewers may have guessed that , but we will now pass under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the second longest suspension bridge in the world, which has a total length of 3,911m. When the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge opened in April 1998 , it was the longest bridge in the world, and was even included in the Guinness World Records . The construction cost was about 500 billion yen at the time. The opening of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge connected Honshu and Awaji, or Honshu and Shikoku, and it is said that this has brought about various benefits, such as the logistics of agricultural and marine products. Until then, people had traveled by sea using ferries, but the opening of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge has forced ferry companies such as Nankai Ferry into a difficult situation. Please take a look at the underpass of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which is full of such history. Well, what did you think? I thought it was a rare sight, so I have deliberately left it without narration. There were a lot of people around me, and everyone was taking pictures, chatting, and enjoying the moment of the underpass. So, there was about an hour left until we arrived at Kobe Port. Thanks to the evening, the temperature was getting more comfortable, so let’s just enjoy the scenery outside. Time passed, and the Kobe Port began to come into view. It was a short boat trip of about 5 hours, but I guess it was because there were many events on the way, such as a call at Shodoshima and the underpass of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. It was a very satisfying and in some ways very busy boat trip (laughs). When we arrived at Kobe Port, there was no turning and we just went straight into the dock, but at the berth next to us, there was a Miyazaki car park. The ferry “Ferry Takachiho” was anchored. To see the all-you-can-eat ferry meal trip that connects Kobe and Miyazaki, please take a look at the URL in the description. While I was promoting this, the ship was about to dock . When I moved my gaze to the rear of the ship , I could see workers working at the port. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Thanks to all those workers, we arrived safely at Kobe Port. Perhaps it was because we arrived at a good time, but the sky was just dyed orange. So, let’s go back on board to disembark. So I went to get my luggage from my room, and disembarkation began immediately after that . It was an incredible speed, about 5 minutes after docking. (laughs) When we docked, we crossed the connecting bridge that we could see from the boat and moved to the terminal . There is a bus that runs from the Kobe Sannomiya Ferry Terminal to the nearest station, Sannomiya Station, but please note that this is a paid service. Fortunately, it is only about a 15-minute walk from Sannomiya Station , so it is not that far away, so let’s walk there while enjoying the city scenery. That brings us to the end of this boat trip. On this channel, we post videos every Friday introducing the charm of slightly unusual travel, mainly boat trips, so if you like it , we would be very happy if you could subscribe to the channel and give us a high rating and comment. Well, see you in the next video. Thank you for watching until the end.
