WWE is returning to the Land of the Rising Sun this fall.

The sports entertainment giant announced Tuesday it will hold two live-event SuperShows at Tokyo’s Ryōgoku Kokugikan on Friday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18. The events come one week after WWE visits Perth, Australia, with SmackDown and Crown Jewel, a premium live event.

Scheduled to appear are World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, Jey Uso, Rhea Ripley, World Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh, and The New Day. Also listed are Japan’s Iyo Sky and AJ Styles, who made a name for himself competing in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Absent is John Cena, who is in the midst of a retirement tour.

Notably, promotional materials place Sky on the bottom row, just to the right of Ripley, who is centered, while Gunther appears in the top-center position. This could be an indication of Sky’s positioning on the card despite being WWE’s most popular Japanese performer.

WWE’s announcement comes as the company runs fewer live events. Last week, WWE returned to touring after a four-month hiatus with shows in Texas. This past weekend, WWE held its annual visit to Mexico with events in Mexico City and Monterrey.

This marks WWE’s first time back to Japan since summer 2024, when it held three SuperShows — one in Osaka and two in Tokyo. The final night featured a women’s championship match between Bayley and Meiko Satomura, who announced two days earlier that she would retire in 2025.
